I would like to start off my review by stating that I am a very difficult person to work with when it comes to my dog. I am very particular with what my dog eats, what shots she has done and especially the way her fear-aggressive temperament is handled and treated. At first, when I went to Lunenburg Veterinary Hospital, I had a bit of a rough experience. I had made a few calls expressing my concerns in quite a temperamental way to Doctor Flinkstrom and he took me seriously and treated me with the up-most respect, apologizing for my experience. I would like to thank Doctor Flinkstrom and the staff that helped me yesterday, 03/20/14. I know that I can be a bit of a pain when it comes to my dog, but I was very pleased yesterday. The staff took their time with getting my dog comfortable with them before they did anything else. However, she did still have to be muzzled for a safety precaution, they were all very gentle with her and concerned about her comfort. I had many questions and concerns about my dogs nutrition, diet, weight and body structure. They showed me very high quality kibbles that I could feed my dog, printed up an entire article for me to read and take home, checked her stitching, posture and above all expressed real concern for my dog. This time, I was much happier with how the appointment went. I will continue to go to Lunenburg as my primary Veterinarian Hospital and I will continue to talk highly of the men and women that work there. I will also continue to recommend them to my customers as well. I will only be going to Doctor Flinkstrom, himself and no other veterinarian, though. As a tough customer, I am surprisingly very pleased. Thank you very much, Serenity and Jenna.

Very unhappy.... Yesterday was our first visit ever to LVH. We were very excited to go because we just moved to Lunenburg last Tuesday and heard great things about this animal care facility. Upon arriving we were ignored by the front desk women for about 10 minutes. Once she took us to the exam room we were greeted by a very friendly vet tech that took the time to get to know us and our pup. The vet tech took 3 pictures, a profile picture and 2 pictures of some lumps that were there to see the vet about, and weighed him in. Then the vet came in, and didnt even introduce himself. I still dont know what his name is.... our previous vet faxed over their records about a week and a half ago, and the vet didnt even look at them. He took time out of our day to read my dogs medical info while we were there, this should have been done before hand I feel. During the doctors time in the room he went out to get medication and had several conversations with employees to and from the exam room. We were sitting there overall for about 20 minutes while chit chatting was going on. My pup also was very nervous there. My pup is only 9 months old and I have never ever before had him be nervous. Lastly our bill was outrageous. We were charged $90 for the initial exam.... $90 for the vet tech to take 3 pictures and weigh my dog? She didnt even check his ears, teeth, listen to his breathing or chest.... I am very disappointed with the overall service and will be canceling our follow up appointment.

Ive been using the LVH for ten years to help care for my purebred cats. I could not be more pleased with the care they have received. Dr. Flinkstrom is a very skilled clinician with a great deal of experience. He is also a Wildlife Rehabilitator and has more experience with unusual species than most vets do. He and his staff are always friendly, making a point to go out of their way to answer even the smallest question quickly and accurately. The facility is a Level 2 Veterinary Trauma Center - with the Level 1 designation being used only for academic centers engaged in research. Regarding some of the negative comments in other reviews here (Im a physician myself who has worked in some very busy settings) I have this to say: I have not found those experiences to be at all representative of my own. Its easy to gripe about a doctors "bedside manner" - we all have good and bad days, and good and bad experiences - and sometimes the workload precludes the kind of interactions some people would prefer. At the end of the day, its a vets clinical skills that are paramount, and it is very evident to me that Dr. Flinkstroms are excellent in every way. If he was unable to spend as much time with some of these other reviewers as they might have liked, bear in mind that it was likely because he was using his time more efficiently to provide care to more animals. Being a vet is clearly not "just a job" for him - it is his calling, and he truly loves all animals.

We have been bringing our cat to LVH for about 15 years and would trust no one else with our furry-family-member. Our cat has had health concerns over the years and Dr. Flinkstrom with his capable staff has not only treated him with incredible care but it did not cost us an arm and a leg. We know only what is needed for our pet will be done and it will be reasonably priced. That is such a relief in todays world! The other great thing is that when a suggested treatment doesnt work for our pet, the doctor has found alternatives because he always keeps up with everything new. His equipment in the office is state of the art too and its always clean when we visit. There is no doubt that everyone at LVH loves animals but they are good with people too. We feel like theyre extended family and are very fortunate to have them. Its because of this that we can heartily recommend them to anyone in the area that loves their pet(s) and needs to be able to trust the doctor/staff that takes care of them and pay reasonable prices for their care.

I cant say enough good things about Lunenburg Veterinary Hospital. I have had 2 adult Boxers under their care since they were pups. Dr. Flinkstrom is a Cornell graduate and one of the most technically competent clinicians you will find with a vast knowledge a not only domestic animals but exotics as well. He even donates his time and resources to care for injured wildlife. His compassion for animals and respect for animal lovers is truly moving. He has a staff of compassionate and well trained technicians who are empathetic, friendly and capable and Dr. Fitzpatrick recently joined the practice and is also a joy to work with. They always follow up after appointments to make sure your pet is ok and that you dont have any questions. They invest in the latest technology for diagnostics and patient management software. They are mindful of the costs and dont try to oversell services. I am proud to call them MY Vet. If you are looking for a great vet you can trust with your beloved pets, I cannot make a higher recommendation.

I was in need of some help with my Chinese water dragon, I was stressing out not knowing if I could afford the bill and if my injured water dragon was gonna make it. I emailed LVH and Dr. Flinkstrom wrote me back and told me to make a appointment right away. He is a very helpful and kind vet, he figured out what was wrong with my dragon and now my dragon is in a healing process thanks to Dr. Flinkstrom, he worked with me in making everything affordable. Out of any vets ive been to he is the best. And the staff there is great. Im definitely switching my vets office to lunenburg veterinary hospital as I have a dog a cat and a Chinese water dragon that will be going there!
