This is the review I wrote on their web site on June 27, 2014: I have lived in many cities and even another country and have brought my various dogs to many veterinarians over the decades. So when I was referred to Dr. Russell at Healthy Paws by my favorite vet of all time, I knew she would be wonderful and she is. My current canine charge is a foster dog, a senior Lab rescued from a high kill shelter in TN. I am Hanks fifth foster, he had been seen by at least three vets that I know of before coming to live with me, and Dr. Russell was the first to figure out that the tumor on his head was a mast cell tumor, an aggressive form of cancer if not caught in time. She removed the tumor from tight quarters with sufficiently large margins to be confident that it will not return. I believe she saved Hanks life. Hank also has a sleep disorder which she has taken the time to research and make recommendations. Yesterday he suddenly came up extremely lame. She saw him right away and considered every possibility for his injury. Today the little stinker is much better on the meds and regimen she prescribed and you would not know how badly he was walking yesterday. Dr. Russell is kind, knowledgeable, thorough, considerate of budgetary constraints, and an extremely skilled surgeon. The clinic is beautiful in a quiet corner of the world and never crowded which I very much appreciate because Hank is nervous around crowds. The techs and staff are wonderful, always greeting with a smile and hugs for the animals. -------------------------------------------- Since my original review on the Healthy Paws web site, Hank also saw Dr. Leavey for some pretty bad GI upset and an aural hematoma that had to be aspirated three times and finally lanced. She was just as wonderful as Dr. Russell, very kind and patient with Hank who is not a fan of vet visits. When Hank bloated after hours on Oct. 9, I rushed him to Tufts where they saved his life. First thing the next morning, Dr. Leavy called me to see how he was doing. Her relief to learn that he had survived and was doing well was palpable and I so appreciated the time she spent answering my questions about what to expect during Hanks recovery. Hank was adopted a month ago tomorrow to a wonderful family. I am so grateful to Drs. Russell and Leavey and everyone at Healthy Paws -- the techs were so good with him and the front office staff took great care of me! -- for their excellent care of a senior dog with multiple medical issues. I highly recommend them!

I had a very unfortunate experience. My dog who appeared to be in good health except for his teeth and pre-existing diabetes died during, what we all thought, would be a routine a dental surgery. There was no explanation for the death. We requested surgical notes which we received. It appeared he went through the 4 hour surgery (seems like a long surgery) fine and died upon coming out of anesthesia. We know he was able to weather surgery in his recent past as he had two lens replacements to ensure his eyesight due to diabetes. The past surgeries were also at great cost. We were glad to give him a chance at saving his eyesight for his future years. He came through those two surgeries without any problem. This was the first and only time we will use this Veterinary Center. We understand there is a risk going into any surgery. We continue to have difficulty managing the sorrow of his passing and also of the abruptness and the shock of the loss. It appeared the center treated the death as it might for any death in a veterinary practice (paw print and card with signatures - but did not initiate further comment on the unusual death). We did contact them to review the circumstances of the death. They were apologetic at that time. We were not charged for the surgery.

The team at Healthy Paws is always so friendly and knowledgeable. They tolerate my many "worried pet mom" questions like champs, and provide super service. For this visit, my cat was having a dental cleaning. He always has had bad teeth despite my best efforts, having been through cleanings and extractions a few times already in his young(ish) life. I feel like Healthy Paws is much more thorough in their care for the pet than most other places I have been to. They run pre-anasthesia blood work and physical to be sure the animal can tolerate the procedure, take before and after pictures of the work, monitor all vitals and record them at 10 minute increments, call you with any progress updates or questions, keep the pet until the anasthesia has worn off and theyre fully alert and awake, provide you with the full medical notes, pictures, and test results from the entire visit, and then call you the next day to check on your pets condition. I really cant say enough about the level of service, care, and professionalism that Healthy Paws provides.

I just moved to Westborough from Texas. Prior to my move, one of my kittys was diagnosed with a serious kidney issue that has required some aggressive treatment. I wanted to get her into a veterinarian here so that her treatment could be discussed and continued. I met with Dr. Tabbah, who was wonderful. She suggested one test , which I was in total agreement with given my kittys health issue. Dr. Tabbah called me the next day with the results. We had a great conversation regarding prognosis. She was completely up to speed on my kittys rather lengthy chart and records. For the first time, someone was actually able to give me an idea of how her condition came about ad give me hope that eventually we would be able to wean her off most of the medication that she is on ( right now she receives 2 pills daily and 3 injections a week). Everyone I came in contact with at Healthy Paws was very professional and very nice. Definitely recommend them. Plus their pricing was very reasonable.

I had an emergency situation with my 13 yr old cat. I called at 11 am and was seen at 11:30 am ! I was a first time caller but that made no delay. They are wonderful. It is a very clean, efficient environment . I was seen immediately and given ample time to explain the situation. They assessed the situation before proceeding and consulted me about options and cost immediately. I chose my option according to my available budget for that day and the price for this emergency was fair and reasonable. I am now a new client because they were exceptionally adept at making a scary emergency as easy a process as possible and my cat is home and comfortable and being treated with her medicine. I cannot say enough about Healthy Paws in Westborough and am so grateful for their help yesterday.

My family relocated to the area, so were just getting settled in and suddenly my eldest dog was limping and we couldnt figure out why. I called Healthy Paws after looking at some reviews. I called them, explained the issue, forwarded dogs medical records from previous vet. They got me in that afternoon and gave me a checklist of everything they were going to do. They were able to accommodate me as I had to go pick up kids and leave my dog with them. After returning, I found out my 10 year old pup tested positive for Lyme disease. They were knowledgeable as they answered all my questions and gave me clear concise directions on the prescriptions. Very professional and personable. I highly recommend them.
