My husband saw doctor Barbara colocino today for the first time and she is very ignorant did not even greet me and in the middle of the appointment finally notice me and by them i was upset by the fact that my husband brought me to translate and the app. still got a translator which that meant we was going to wait forever in the room and after her noticing me she could tell i was upset, she then asked very rudely do you have a problem because you sound tense and I them told her I am upset and why and she proceed to tell me you could see someone else instead by then I wanted to tell her off and how to get there but due to the fact that it was not about me and it was his choice because if you are a health care professional and you are that rude you need to work somewhere else where you can tell people like it is because I am not going to be disrespectful, I told her this appointment is not about me focus on your patient very disappointed with this facility its more for immigrants due to the fact that they dont understand and they dont know right from wrong and they are taking advantage of the situation which is sad I recommend hawthorn medical they are very polite and professional . Before this incident I called in the morning to find out what time the appointment was started to call about 8 am now it was 8:35 no one pick up the phone and finally i was able to reach someone and they told me he had missed his appointment and that he had to reschedule he missed the 15 window and to reschedule for another day not even considering the fact that I was calling straight 35 minutes to get the time so he would not miss it and the receptionist Vanesa was very rude as well and he got no reminder call mind you but thanks to Iza the patient advocate he was able to be reschedule to later that day. I was a patient there also and due to their rudeness and unprofessional-ism I transferred to hawthorn medical where till today I am very well taking care of.

This health center can be a life changer for anyone who has no other options available to them, or who wouldnt otherwise have access to ongoing and preventative healthcare services. After moving to the area from another state, this was the only place I could get quickly to continue treatment, after being in the hospital here for an acute, chronic condition. I was a patient from 2003 to 2009. During that period, I felt that the doctors did a good job of keeping me healthy, by focusing on early detection and prevention. Then, a treatment given by one of the Centers specialists resulted in a mistake which adversely affected my health. I now have an extremely painful chronic condition that severely limits my basic daily functions of living. At first, I was pragmatic and tried to rationalize that doctors sometimes do make mistakes. But when the focus shifted from seeking solutions to improve the condition, to a game of denial, blaming the patient, intimidation and covering the doctors backside, I had to fire the team that was doing this and find another group which wanted to seek solutions, rather than trying to convince me that I should just accept the loss in function. Not to mention the (often) unbearable pain. Best decision I could have made. Instead of merely maintaining a sub-standard quality of health, the new doctors worked hard to improve it. GNBCHC provides a service to those who have no other options available to them. If other options for treatment are available to you, Id encourage you to take them.

There is only one nice woman who works at this place but the rest of the staff is God awful! First, let me explain that I had been a paitent at GNBCHC since I was a child and after years of being misdiagnosed,having a doctor who was mroe worried about a blackhead,pimple,then an ear infection so severe my eardrum almost ruptured I refused to go there unless it was an emergency. For the longest time I refused to go until my sister told me about the doctor she had. I scheduled an appointment but due to car trouble I had to reschedule. The day before I was to go to my appointment I called the health center to see what time my appointment was at only to be informed that my appointment was canceled. NO ONE EVER TOLD ME!! It was ridiculous. A few weeks before I had gone in for strep throat and the nurse practioner was so rude! I had been taking pencilian but I was getting extremely sick so my thought was theyd change the medication. She told me absolutely not and then sent me on my way. It just happens that the mother of a friend of mine works there and she told me that i was probably allergic to the medication I was taking and I should drink cold beverages to help with the pain. Seemingly,no one there cared at all. Tonight I get my mail and they reccomend that I get a pap smear there. I know people who have gotten paps there and usually leave bleeding because the doctor has no idea what shes doing. Thanks but no. I think its time that I find a new doctor.

I have been going here for a few years. Lets just say im not really having a run with luck on life. So i tried speaking with my docter . i was prescribed 25 mg ssri pills. I took them for almost two months when my situiation went from bad to worse. I called them for help and they set me up an apointment with another docter. I was ok with that but the problem was they never told me were the docter was. I was called by the new docter and then i found out he was located in boston. I never went considering i have work and i cant be driving out that far with a messed up car. It took me three times to attemp suicide and not once did they try to help me. I even called them on a saterday and told them that i was getting worse and i was not ok. I was told to speak with someone in Urgent care. They didnt pick up the phone or even have the decency to call me back. I finally went in and the docter said the pills were causeing me to try and kill my self . now i have an apointment with a shrink on the third and im still not doing ok. Even to get the appointment with the shrink they never sent over the referral .i had to call them to make the appointment wich now is taking longer to get help. My family is scared and im not getting better at all. I have three boys and i dont want to be like this. I still to this day am waiting for the call from them.

This place is the worst health center I been to. When they finally called my name to see the doctor. He was rude and so unprofesional that he wouldnt even take a look at an infection I had developed due to a simple surgery I had done at Boston medical center to remove a fat deposit . He told me to get my own doctor and that it was gone take months.!! The next day I went to the emergency deparment of st lukes hospital the doctor was real nice took a culture prescribed antibiotics and some cream and 3 days later Im almost healed!!! I never been treated like this doctor did at the health center. I was surprised at how unfriendly , uncaring and unprofesional as this little man was
