Never again. Pros: close to my new house. Cons: Extremely high price for the service (at other clinics price was 6 times less than here - compare $100 and $660) and it felt like they want to make you fool. Story is: First of all I waited for a doctor for about 30-40 mins when I had appointment. Lets say its ok because sometime something may be urgent and vet will be busy. But during appointment vet tried say me information which I dont need. Doctors time is expansive, everyone knows it. We discussed that my pet needs surgery, when it will be and how it will be. We discussed that my pet had the same surgery year ago and everything went fine. We discussed her medical history from another vet hospital (because I moved recently to Rochester area and didnt wanted drive far to my previous vet clinic). So what else? During half an hour vet said me stuff which I already dont remember and obviously I didnt need it. When I asked about a price for the surgery vet and nurse couldnt say me even approximate estimate, they just said "we will send you estimate on email". While other clinics were able to say price even by phone (approximately $100-150). In next 5 days I got SPAM emails only from Rochester Veterinary Hospital but no price for the scheduled surgery. Later when they called to remind me about scheduled surgery on next Monday I remind them that I still want to know the price, at least approximately. Representative said "ok I will figure out it at doctor". Then they called me back and said price will be six five nine six five. WHAT? Is it too hard to say "six hundred fifty nine dollars sixty five cents? Is it professional? It sounded like they expected that I will not understand it and I will be fine with that bunch of digits. On my reasonable question "Guys are you OK? My pet got the same surgery for EIGHTY bucks about year ago! and are you asking me more than six hundred?" they said "yes it will be six fifty nine"... I was shocked. They even didnt offered me any options like other vet clinics do (for example if memory tumor was removed it can be taken to research but it can be excluded and price will be less. If your pet already old and will not live long so research doesnt make sense.). So of course I turned around and went to my previous vet clinic on north - Dunkel Veterinary Hospital, it just took me about an hour to drive there. They always treat you professionally, will tell you approximate price and you dont wait for a long time if you have appointment.

Im new to the area, and needed a good vet. After reading good reviews on line of it, I was able to make an appointment to see the Vet within a day. When I got there, it was very clean, inside and out, and they already had my dogs records there. They took me straight back to a room without having to wait in the waiting room. 3 techs stopped in to take a look at my dog while we were waiting, and they were all very friendly and knowledgable. When the Vet came in (I cannot remember her name) she took the time to sit on the floor with me and my dog and talk about what was going on with him. I did not feel rushed in the slightest. They were gentle with him while they did some tests, and even brought me wet paper towel to clean up my dog after he had some mess on him from outside. When the tests were done, the Vet and a Tech came in to explain what they had found, laid out a recovery plan, with pricing, for me and explained everything. They explained all the medications, the side effects, and helped me label them so I would remember which was which. They were actually cheaper on the food allergy test then my old vet. My dog had a ball while he was there and was so happy with all the staff he met and all the cuddles and love they gave him. I have found my new vet, and I recommend them highly. Thanks so much, Jessica & Walter

This facility had the highest quote for spaying I found within the area. In addition, my pet was taken here when she had red in her urine. The vet told me this was very serious and they were very worried. The vet tech handed me a list of all the doctors suggested tests that needed to be ran. This was over $500.00 worth of testings. I asked what is the first thing we can start with and go from there because I wasnt going to just run all these tests without first ruling out other things. I took antibiotics and a urine test. My pets symptoms were cleared up. Why wasnt this first suggested and then if that didnt work we could go from there? I have since taken my pet to get spayed and shes perfectly healthy! I am not happy at all with the care and advice I received. I felt like they just wanted money.

I am new to the area and was a Banfield customer where I lived prior. When my kitty got another UTI recently, I looked into trying a new place so I found Rochester Vet. Even though they were completely booked for the day, they took me in without a problem. Everyone was so friendly, and I was taken back on how caring they were for my cat (who gets very overwhelmed at the vet). They even took him back to do his tests in his blanket to make him feel more comfortable. I was so impressed! Only downside was that they charge a visit fee to have him come back and get re-checked for his UTI. Banfield waives this fee. Regardless, I will continue to bring him here!
