My first (and last) impression of this practice is that it is the most money driven, up-selling, greedy, and not animal welfare-oriented veterinary clinic I have ever visited. My dog of eight years has a history of two ear infections per year which stem from allergies, and she has been seen by veterinarians in three countries, who have all identified the issue and treated it immediately, understanding what the dog needed, and charged us the standard office visit rate in addition to whatever the medicine cost; which I perceive as fair and equitable. Dr. Theodoroff decided that we needed to further analyze the problem, take our dog home, clean her ear, come back for another visit, and then finally get around to prescribing her medicine. Additionally he wanted us to by the latest and greatest heart worm medicine on the market despite us still having several months supply of what we give her every month and, for no justifiable reason, change her food to one that can only be purchased at a veterinary clinic. All this for over $600.00. Mind you, this is $600.00 and the dog still has an untreated ear infection. We would still have to pay for the medicine to treat the infection at the next visit, and who knows what other fees and follow-on appointments to pad his pocketbook. When we told him that he was out of his mind and we would will not accept his overpriced treatment plan and would seek another provider, his pretend professional demeanor became quite unraveled. In his parting shot to us, he addressed our dogs broken tooth, a problem that she has had since she was about one year old, which every veterinarian that she has seen since she broke her tooth has stated that it needs to come out if it gets infected or if she has trouble eating or chewing (neither of which is the case), otherwise the cost/benefit ratio doesnt make it worth it. He told us that if we didnt have her tooth removed, her head would blow up - a most professional comment.

We were looking for a new vet and decided to try AMC after a neighbor gave them a very strong, detailed recommendation. The experience far exceeded our hopes and we are extremely satisfied with the care at AMC. We started seeing Dr. Saxton (there are two additional vets working at the practice, all 3 were highly recommended to us) a few weeks ago and could not be happier. Our dog has several chronic conditions and we really needed help in understanding and managing them. We got it. The initial exam was the best, most thorough exam our dog ever received. We got great tips for managing his health in very clear, understandable language - from medicine, to supplements, to diet to future diagnostics. And we especially love the detailed printouts and emails that follow each procedure - you really get to concentrate on what the doctor is saying, knowing the detailed reminders and explanations are all there for future reference. When additional testing was recommended, options, rationale and expectations were made very clear. It really gave us the confidence we needed. Dr. Saxton and the staff all are very caring, friendly, cheerful and very professional - to both us and our dog. That became obvious within minutes of arrival. The office is clean, organized, attractive and inviting; as are the exam rooms. One visit (and weve had several since) and we were immediately sure we found what we needed. The facts that they have convenient hours and are close by are just the icing on the cake. I wish we would have made this switch sooner - a great veterinary resource.

We have been going to Dr. Theodoroff since our girl was 9 weeks old and she is now over two. His expertise and advice has been excellent and we are also happy with his other doctors in the practice. Poppilou had a lot of issues in her first year and we needed some specialty treatment and Dr. Theodoroff guided us to the exact physician we needed at Blue Pearl. We then returned to him and are grateful for his loving care. Recently our girl had a bout of diarrhea and I left a message over the fourth of July weekend. On the fourth of July Mrs. Theodoroff called to check with me and make sure we were doing well and offer guidance. On the fourth of July!!! Additionally, I am fostering a dog for a very sick friend and Dr. Theodoroff spent quite a bit of time during our annual visit answering questions regarding a dog who is not under his care. He did not charge me for this additional time. I think you should give Animal Medical Center a try and see what you think.

We found this veterinarian very convenient to schedule for our puppys first visit. Dr. T was very professional and informative. He was patient in answering all of our questions and we never felt rushed. The staff was very friendly. And as we checked out, they gave us lot of really helpful information in printouts to learn more of what vaccines were given, what they do, other health topics to consider, etc. Overall, the medical care they give to pets seems to exceed even what humans get at hospitals! Highly recommended.

Dr. Saxton is awesome!! She took amazing care of my 2 new kittens and was very informative, and respectful.. she allowed us to make our own decisions regarding what type of care we wanted and in no way pushed us to do anything in order to spend more money.. All in all I feel very comfortable continuing Veterinarian Care with Dr. Saxton for my new kittens. Additionally, I scheduled well checkup for my 11 year old Shih Tzu! The Clinic is very comfortable and Staff is super supportive!

I have been coming to Animal Medical Center of Troy for over 20 years. 7 dogs and 2 cats later over the years. There would be no other clinic I would ever use except this one. The level of professionalism, caring, excellent care for my animals has always been the ultimate best. From the time you make the appointment to check out, they are efficient, friendly and always have your pets best needs first and foremost. I would highly recommend AMC of Troy without any reservations.

My 14 year old Maltes had been suffering from skin allergies all his life and Id tried several Vets in the Troy, Sterling Heights, and Madison Heights area with no lasting effect from the medication and shampoo. Once Dr. T. examined my pet and diagnosed his conditions and gave me meds that didnt have any long term harmful effects on my dog, Ive been very pleased with the results. My Simons coat and skin looks very healthy. Kudos to Dr. T. and Animal Medical Center of Troy

High quality vet giving high quality care. Absent was the overwhelming scent of pets - I dont know how they did it, because every vet Ive been to smells like a wet dog, but this one was different, and I appreciated that. Much more importantly, they give good care to the dog, and I really like their fee structure for visits. You pay slightly more for an office visit, but it comes with one follow up visit within 30 days.
