They adopted out MY dog. I found out and went up there to talk about it. The manager MEGAN was extremely uncompassionate and cold to my situation. She told me the dog was no longer legally mine, um excuse me this is MY dog I didnt authorize you to take it in the first place! The dog was extremely aggressive towards people AND animals which I was paying 2 separate trainers with her on this issue at the time she was taken. I asked Megan to inform the new owners of the dogs aggression issues and she said she would not do so! Then she asked me for my last name (if you cant give me back my dog then why do you need my name?) whereas I asked for her name, she REFUSED to give her name to me! so wait you want my info but dont want me having yours so I can take it to management above you. Then she claimed I was being threatening and abrasive to which I said im sorry I dont see how can you please tell me what I said wrong? She REFUSED then threatened to call police on me! Wait you sold MY dog and now YOU are mad at me? what! INEVER once raised my tone. On my way out I asked all her employees at the desk and outside as well as customers waiting if they felt I was acting in a threatening abrasive manner. Every single person said no not at all. In fact they couldnt even hear me! and I was in the same room talking to Megan and nobody else heard me at all yet megan felt I was threatening. Oh Also my 3 children were with me ages 8 and 5 year old twins when she told me she was calling the police. But she could not give one example of what I had said out of line. Cause she knew she was wrong. First you sell a dangerous animal , then refuse to warn the new owners, then threaten to call police on me? who does that? Then as I walked outside I heard multiple people complaining about the facilitys manager. This place is only about money.

Ive gotten two cats from this location over the last five years. The first had been in their care for almost nine months. They told me he had no medical issues whatsoever. After having him for a few weeks, we noticed he had breathing problems. We took him to the vet and they told us he was asthmatic and had been for years, due to the condition of his lungs. He recently passed (almost four years to the day after we adopted him) at only ten years old due to problems related to his asthma. We went back there for our second visit (a few weeks ago) figuring his asthma was a fluke that it had been overlooked. We looked at three cats before coming to a decision. The first cat, they told us, had sustained a fracture on his front paw a few months prior but had healed completely and shouldnt have any major problems later in life. The cat was very sweet but every time he walked, he didnt put any weight on his previously fractured paw. It was so bad, it appeared that he didnt have use of the paw at all and was walking on a part of his leg about two inches above the joint. Im not a vet but it was clear it was more than a fracture and it was no where near healed. The third cat (who we ended up bringing home), we were told was five years old. We recently took him to the vet and we were told he was between one and two. Not a big deal but I dont understand how their vet made that call when its clear he isnt that old to anyone who has ever had a cat that young. Between the poor service (we waited over two hours to actually adopt our cat even though it was a Thursday afternoon and there was only one other person ahead of us) and the impossibly inaccurate information provided by the "vet", I dont understand how their vet is employed or how this place is even in business.

These people have no remorse for family pets. I had two pit bull puppies, my neighbors were old and didnt like dogs. They took my puppies and charged mr $500.00 to get them out after two days of them being there. My puppies had all their shots, and i payed to have them microchipped. They came home with kettle cough and were very lethargic. A few weeks later, the neighbors, yet again, had them taken. I could afford to get them out for another $500.00 and tried to figure out some sort of payment plan. They refused and said they would hold them there and continue to charge by the day, or i could sign them over to them/give them up. My puppies were beautiful and high in demand by the people that came in looking for a dog. These were my childrens puppies. Not only did they break my heart, but broke the hearts of my 8 yearold daughter and 3 yearold son. There should really be laws against yhis behavior. My puppies were rehomed immediately! I tried to see if i could just sign them over, to bypass their outrageous fines, and adopt them myself, in order to bring my family members back home. They said that wasnt allowed. So i tried to get someone else to adopt them, who would of course give them back to me, provided i pay everything. Once again, they said its not allowed. All they care about is money. Not the people, or the health of these animals, MONEY. I hate being bitter, but i cant help but hope that every one of the them finds a pet that they turn into family, and it be stripped from their home. As theyve had no problem doing this to multiple families.

Me and my three children drove over 1/12 hours in rush hour traffic to get there, once we did we found so many cute and adorable puppies that we were very interested in adopting but we couldnt see or visit any of the puppies we liked because so jerk had 5 of the dogs sheets stacked up in his hand hoarding them and staff said nothing and let it be. Then we actually we there to see two puppies that I called about and was told, oh dont worry you have time cause they havent been neutered yet. So we get there and of course theyre already gone. I guess you can claim them before procedures are done. Then was asking a staff member about other puppies that were there about why all theyre info sheets are gone and not many people there and she says they are claimed basically without putting the deposit down which is bull. Afterwards I spoke to one of the rudest ladys at the counter and received NO respect or anything, we decide to go else. To the guy and the staff that allowed him to hoard all those dogs sign out sheets, thanks for being selfish and stupid because my kids were heart broken. I will NEVER GO TO Westland humane society again!!

Last year we found an abandoned pit/boxer puppy (left in garage to die), after a couple days we realized she just wasnt feeling good, displaying signs of fatigue & not eating/drinking. We took her to a local vet where she tested positive for parvo. He wanted $1500 min. & told us if she didnt stay over night our puppy would be dead. We simply couldnt afford that so he reccomended putting her down, which was unacceptable for us.I immediately called the MHS Westland, explained the situation, & although it was very close to their closing time they prepped a room for us & had had us bring her in immediately. They explained it was still only 50/50 shot but showed us how to administer the medication, made payment arrangements with us, and had daily check ups w/ follow ups for over 2 weeks (for 1/2 the price!) The entire staff was supportive, very competent, and a true blessing :) A year later we have the best fur baby ever!!! Thank You Westland MHS!
