If you care about your pet do NOT bring it to VCA!!! I took my dog to VCA Animal Hospital to get vaccinated along with a heartworm test last month. When I brought him in the receptionist asked what breed he was and I answered that I didnt know. The other receptionist then said he looks like a ghetto dog. I couldnt believe it. I asked "excuse me what did you say?". She ignored me but I persisted. Finally she said, I said "I dont know what kind of dog he is". Hard to believe it could get any worse than that but it did in a hurry. After paying for his shots the tech started to take the dog to the back and I asked if I could go with him. I was told they didnt allow owners to accompany their pets on vaccination day. A minute or two later they brought the dog back out to the waiting room. The tech told me they took blood from his left front paw and usually there is a spot of blood there when they do this but this time there was none. Now every other time I have had him tested for heartworm it has taken several minutes for the results as the blood antigen takes a certain amount of time to react. There is no way they could have performed this test along with the vaccinations I paid for in the amount of time the dog was back there. As soon as the receipt was printed my dog was back in the lobby. This, coupled with the fact that there was no sign of any puncture mark on his paw leads me to believe the test was never performed. This place is a mess and the people there just dont care. I am giving it a single star only because this program forces me to do so

If you love your pet, dont go to VCA White Lake Animal Hospital. They are part of a large network of clinics run as a money making business only !! They have to follow company policies that influence the decisions they make about your pets health. They pretend to care about you and your pet, but ultimately they have to follow corporate rules I went there with several pets for several years. I thought the doctor and some of the staff cared about us. I was wrong. When one of our dogs was gravely ill and had to be euthanized, we were devastated. They only cared about a bill for a worthless consultation. The consultation company is recommended by VCA, due to the fact that it is one big corporate conglomerate, They employ rude people that treat you like you are bothering them if you ask a question. Your first impression when you walk through the front door is a rude and grumpy dark haired older women. She is the most unfriendly person I have ever met in a service business. They must keep her employed because she knows too much insider information. She really is a mean person. When we lost our beloved pet, she stood at the end of the counter with her arms crossed and never said one word to us, no sorry for your loss and they never even sent a sympathy card. That is how you are treated there, even after going there for years and spending thousands of dollars. If you love your pet, go somewhere else or one day you will be sorry and wish you had made a different choice much sooner. Maybe your pet would still be alive !!!

This review is a little late. Over a year ago I brought in my very, very sick puppy. He was diagnosed with kennel cough. The doctor was alright but didnt do much to examine my dog. All I did was say that my dog was coughing and he wrote me a prescription for antibiotics. After ten days of the medicine my dog was even sicker. I called the VCA and they said they didnt even need to see my dog again he just needed another round of antibiotics. I decided that wasnt good enough and took him to the Milford Vet Clinic to Dr. Clarke whom I trust very much. My dog was given an x-ray. He had sever pneumonia with a lot of fluid in his lungs. With another dose of the weak antibiotic my dog would have been dead with in those ten days. I took two strong antibiotics, a fluid injection and a steroid to heal my pet. However he still has scar tissue in his lungs because of the laziness and the neglect of the VCA in white lake. I will never go back and I would tell everyone I know not to go back.

Go somewhere else, had a surgery planned 30 plus days out, confirmed the appointment the day before. Unable to get surgery because she had water and food within 12 hours. The front desk said we tried to call you but were unable to leave voicemail, I told them I had no missed phone calls and had them call my phone, it rang and went to the voicemail option. The lady at the front desk said "oh I guess she must have misdialed your number, sorry about that." Sorry doesnt change the fact that I had to take time off work, I am active duty military and time is not something I have a lot of to waste. Because of an employees carelessness to contact a customer to notify them, they lost my business completely. I would not recommend this location.

We found a 4 week old kitten in the drive way. She was very cold, underweight. The 3rd day we had her she was having trouble keeping food down. I called VCA White Lake. Dr. Duhaime and all of the staff were very gentle with her. She had been through enough and they were great. She was quickly diagnosed with worms and an infection. We were on our way and after 2 days she was up to being a kitten again. We have had her 4 weeks now and she is wonderful. Im so pleased with Dr. Duhaime and everyone at the office. We have already been recommending VCA White Lake to friends and family. We will be going back for future care.

Horrible clinic. Took my dog there for ER followup. The Vet didnt even physically examine the dog. She ordered labs. I was told , once by the Vet, shed call me Monday. No call. I was told same by two techs, no call. After three days of wondering if my dog was seriously ill I called corp. Corp did nothing. I finally got a call from the manager concerning the lab work. Not the Doctor, as promised. I would suggest if considering this clinic find one that is privately owned. Not a corp business. After todays conversation Ill make it a point, I do a lot of rescue, to point people to another vet.

I have been with VCA, originally called White Lake Animal Hospital, since the late 70s. I currently have my 4th and 5th. dogs being seen by Dr. Duhaime. I like the staff very much. Dr. Duhaime is the best. I feel confident about my pets health care when I bring them in. I have been living in the Flint are since 2002 and will continue to bring them to White Lake until Dr. Duhaime is officially retired. He is so calming with the dogs and in the past when I had to put a dog to sleep. I give my dogs the best care I can and am very satisfied with this clinic and the staff.
