Okay so this is the first time Ive really written a review on a place before, but considering the experience me and my father had today, I really couldnt help myself but to write a review. About two weeks ago he made an eye appointment for both me and him, while I was waiting in the car. Something that should be finished in a considerably reasonable amount of time since I have been to this place once before for a blood test, so I should already be on file, right? Well that happened and took 30 minutes. Okay, not too much of a big deal, stuff happens. So... we go to our eye appointments. We had to check in at the front desk which made zero sense seeing as how there was a desk in the eye clinic part of the building, talk about confusing and stupid. They made us wait there when there was literally nobody else in front of us. The lady at the desk is HORRIBLE. She also answers the phone and she is so incompetent. Alright, so we FINALLY got checked in and had to wait a little bit and then the eye lady who was very polite took us back before we saw the doctor. She asked me questions such as "Do you take any medication?" "Does your family have a history of cancer?" but then....she looks at me and goes "Are you still a smoker?" Me and my fathers jaws dropped. I have never smoked in my entire life. I told her this and she said I was listed in their files as a CHRONIC smoker! Not just a smoker, a chronic smoker! HOW? The only time I went there before I was twelve years old and thats when I had my blood test.(January of 2012.) Never ONCE have I said yes to being a smoker? I was twelve! How can you mix something so simple up like that? I will never forget that! Leave it up to a place like this to list a TWELVE YEAR OLD as a smoker. Me and my father see the doctor, blah blah blah. I pick my frames and they say theyll be ready in a week or two. So we come back about a week or so later to pick up my glasses which were finished and to get them adjusted properly to fit behind my ears comfortably. When she finished adjusting them (fun fact: even after she adjusted them they didnt fit properly.) she came out with my Ninja turtle case and set it down on the desk and looked at me and said "I bet youre too old for this case?" obviously lady, if I picked the ninja turtle glasses...I like the ninja turtles and I want the case? Its more of a personal thing but COME ON. Its not her place to say ANYTHING. One of the reasons I got the ninja turtle glasses was for the awesome case! Nothing could change what a piece of trash this clinic is. I am happy with my glasses(Ninja turtles FTW.) however, I can clearly get my Ninja turtle glasses somewhere else. Like, oh I dont know..Walmart? Jeez. At least they would do a better job. This happened a year ago now. My dad and I havent been back since. This place is absolute garbage. Save yourself frustration and time and go somewhere else with actual polite employees that get your files done correctly the FIRST time. Any other place would be better than this one.

I appreciate reading reviews but rarely write them. However, I felt I needed to after reading so many negative reviews about this clinic, for my opinion and experience is much different. I have been going to the Brooklyn Park clinic for over 12 years and have always been highly satisfied with the care I have received there, as have my husband and three children. We have had a variety of physicians over the years including internists, family practice, OB/GYN, and pediatricians and pediatricians as our primary care physicians. All have been highly competent and patient oriented. Urgent care has sometimes had long wait times, but that goes with the territory and is no different than any clinic Ive gone to during my adult life. For the most part, my appointments have been timely and I have never felt any physician has felt rushed. I have some complex, long standing health issues and have also seen a variety of specialists including podiatry, GI, neurology, PT, surgeons, as well as optometry. Each practitioner has been willing to listen and have considered my concerns and wishes seriously. They have always treated me as part of my medical team and considered not only my feelings but my suggestions, allowing me to go out of clinic if I found a specialist I felt better met my needs. I also appreciate MyChart. Because I have a relationship with our physicians, I have often been able to get questions answered, get referrals taken care of quickly or brainstorm if I needed to bring in my children for a visit or not. Responses have, for the most part, also been very timely. There are clinics closer to my home which I cannot use due to our insurance coverage. However, even if I could, I would be reluctant to leave because of the marvelous care I have received through Fairview Brooklyn Park and other associated clinics.

I feel the need to write this to warn others to prepare to wait a VERY VERY long time. And if you have my luck, leave with NO answers. At all. Quite possibly one of the worst, certainly the strangest, doctor visit I have ever had. I was very sick and headed to this clinic because I could not get in with my regular Fairview Doctor in Maple Grove. I was told I was in line for Urgent Care and the wait would be 45 minutes to 1 hour at 11:20am, shortly after they opened. I waited well OVER TWO hours to be called back. I finally had to just curl up on a bench. In pain. This is not the worst of the experience. Once I was called back it took another 1.5 hours and I left with no knowledge of what I am suffering from. The Dr. tossed out "beginning pneumonia, possible flu, or possible blood clot at the base of my brain". Seriously. Yet...I had NOT ONE diagnostic test performed. No blood work, no test swabs, nothing. I even asked for a chest X-ray. He said to wait and see if I feel better first. I was very confused. So, I was given an antibiotic...but...he told me to hold onto it and fill it a day later "if I didnt start feeling better". What?? In hindsight, I wish I had demanded something, any sort of diagnostic test since I was lying there IN PAIN for that many hours. I would have been better off to stay home in bed. I will NEVER return to this clinic. I will not even go into the chaos in the waiting room. I gave the clinic one star because the doctor was a nice enough person, he apologized and said "sorry for your long wait...we have a six-ring circus going on today". But nice doesnt make up for negligence.

I chose this clinic through my Insurance because they were close to my home. I have not been happy since I started going there. Every single time I make an appointment, and see my doctor, I get the SAME response. If I go in for a neck issue Ive had for 6 years that causes headaches I get told, you should stop smoking, and you will need to see a different doctor. I went in for a knee injury, I should stop smoking and see a different doctor, I went in for back issues, I should stop smoking and I need to see a different doctor. I have been there 5 times and they have done nothing to help me at all. Seems like the only thing the doctors there are good at is telling me to stop smoking and to go somewhere else, which has never been possible because they never send out the referrals to the doctors I need to see. The last time I went in, the nurse measured my height, and I have shrunk an inch an a half in the last year, when I told my doctor that and that I have constant back pain which concerns me that I have shrunk, she said "Those scales are not accurate". WTH?? not accurate, then why are you using them? and after getting home we measured my height here and the nurse was correct, I HAVE shrunk. Wouldnt you think that would be cause for concern and should have been looked at by my doctor? NOPE, I need to stop smoking and see someone else.. What a waste of time and money!
