My daughter recently had oral surgery at Southern Heights Dental. She had a lot of anxiety regarding the procedure. Dr. Peter Thurnau along with Kari were fabulous in reassuring my daughter and myself before, during and after surgery. I was quite impressed with the follow-up call we received at home from Kari to see how things were progressing post surgery. I recommend Southern Heights Dental to everyone I know! Every person we came into contact with at Southern Heights Dental was very professional. The facility itself is taken care of quite well and is extremely clean. I was elated to not have to contact my insurance, as they took care of that too. We appreciated the extra lengths that were gone to in scheduling our consultation and surgery. We had a very tight schedule to work with so my daughter would not miss school, work or sports. From the first phone call I made to Southern Heights, we were treated very well. I definitely walked away from the experience feeling they were appreciative for our business. Way to go Dr. Pete Thurnau, Kari, and Southern Heights Dental! You have definitely earned our continued business!

I missed 2 appointments and rescheduled them due to two deaths and my uncle having a heart attack in our family, all within 2 weeks of each other...... and Southern Heights dental kicked me out of the dental group..... I have been going to this dental group for over 20 years. Ive brought my children and Family friends there for treatment and have been a loyal customer for that whole time, I have spent thousands of dollars at this clinic, what is wrong with this picture...Life can’t happen to people anymore, Businesses are so rich that they kick you out of them now for no other reason than missing a couple of appointments due to unforeseen circumstances. This is what happened to me, and they will no longer be receiving my business and I want people to know how I feel, and know how they treat their patients.

My experience with Southern Heights Dental Group for the most part has been favorable. The staff is very courteous and their Medical team is excellent. I do find it hard to accept the fact that not all dental problems can be handled in house. My family has been sent to many "experts" and sometimes to our dismay we have been referred to places that do not accept our Dental policy with the State of Minnesota which is a disappointment. Non the less, I feel that for the most part the Doctors and staff have been knowledgeable about myself, husband Mark and my three children and our own specific dental needs. The billings that accompany normal in house" medical procedures we feel are explained sufficiently, . We do have loyalty to this agency and will continue to work with SHDG in the future.

About seven years ago, one of the doctors claimed that I had several cavities. When I returned to the clinic to have them fixed, I was administered novocaine, and left alone for nearly forty-five minutes. After waiting so long, I left. Since then, I have visited (at least) five different dentists (one in Owatonna, two at the University of Minnesota, one in Alexandria, and one in Indiana), all of whom said I have no cavities. Not only did the doctors at this clinic make false diagnoses, but also failed to provide adequate care. I am sharing this, so long after the fact, because I think it is important to share this negative experience, as the doctors I visited are still practicing at this clinic.

Today I had an emergency and had a tooth go abscess I am already fearful of the dentist but from the person I made the appointment with on the phone to the girl I met when I walked in to the dental assistant to the doctor I cant begin to tell you how friendly how comforting how kind every one of them were I would highly recommend this office. I had called 3 different offices with an emergency and not one of them even made an attempt to get me in until I called Southern Heights they are amazing highly recommended exclamation point

My family has been going to Southern Heights for as long as I can remember and we dont plan on going anywhere else in the near future. The staff is always friendly and the care we receive is great. The reason Im giving them four stars instead of five is because, as loyal customers who have never had payment issues, I wish we werent always referred to the business office to set up payment plans for visits, but I guess business is business. Overall, I would recommend others to come here!

My husband and I have been going to Southern Heights Dental for over 11 years! We have always had wonderful care and great customer service! I have always had a fear of "the shot", but the dentists at Southern Heights Dental are all very gentle and compassionite! Which makes having dental work a lot easier! My husband is also very pleased with the care and quality of treament he has received. We have referred all of our friends and family to this clinic!

I was there today, I had to get 5 teeth pulled and i have never seen such a caring dentist. He was wonderful in every way. Checking on me all of the time smiling even the few seconds i had pain here and there he comforted me. I would recommend this dental office to everyone! The hygienist was wonderful we had a few laughs and even though this was a very hard day for me they were perfect.
