My puppy passed away in this very hospital. I admit, the staff was great and during his life, I thought I was receiving the best care possible. However, when he was at his final days, the vet did not tell us he was dying but just in bad shape. Perhaps it was because my family had never raised a dog before, that without the exact words hes going to die, we kept believing that he would live through his sudden illness. The vet also failed to tell us that when we were worried about paying for $3,000 surgery, we could opt for payment plans or other alternatives. The vet instead encouraged expensive antibiotics to help the situation and sucked out extra cash out of me before my baby, barely over 2, passed away in agonizing pain and left my heart in pieces. I have always believed that Life Care was doing all they could for me at the time. But I now have a new vet for my two unexpected rescue dogs and I see what REAL proper care and concern is. This vet does not sugarcoat their words and will tell me exactly what I need to know to properly care for them, even if its not what I want to hear. Life Care was not the animal hospital that I needed and I wish I had known that a year ago. I will never take any of my future pets to Life Care.

The entire staff is terrific. We adopted Harry a kitten from the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley. We brought it to the vet we had used in the past who administered a screening test and found out that he had Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) which the Humane Society didnt bother to test for. We had another cat already and werent sure we wanted to bring Harry home until we had the results of a confirmatory test that, because of the technology required, had to be done at a commercial laboratory out state. Our old vet refused to keep Harry until the new test results would be in so we looked around for another vet and found Dr. Larry Morrisette at the Life Care Animal Hospital. He administered the confirmatory test and not only offered to keep Harry over the weekend until the results came back but allowed him to stay in one of their exam rooms so he wouldnt feel caged up. The confirmatory test proved Harry had FIV but, after talking with Larry, we decided to keep him. Were so glad we did. Harrys been a total joy - a real lap cat. Life Care Animal Hospital is 16 miles away from where we live, and there are many vets between us, but we feel that theyre well worth the extra miles.

Cannot say enough great things about this clinic. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I have two dogs who have both had their fair share of accidents and illnesses which require urgent attention. The receptionists are always friendly, compassionate and helpful. The facility is modern, clean and comfortable. I have used Dr. Helga for the past two years for both my emergency visits and my dogs routine, preventative care visits. Dr. Helga always impresses me with both her knowledge and her calm, gentle demeanor with my dogs. One of my dogs has behavioral issues. This can cause him to become aggressive when fearful, which trigger anxiety in me, thus making the situation worse. That being said, he LOVES Dr. Helga. He doesnt even get nervous going into the clinic like many dogs do when they realize they are at the vet. The clinic also, in my opinion does not push unnecessary procedures or products. What they do strive for, and achieve, is a compassionate, thorough practice of veterinary medicine.

I have always had great experiences at Life Care. I always ask a lot of questions, and they always are knowledgeable and respectful. I recently brought my dog in because he had stumbled up the stairs and was acting like his hind legs were bothering him. I really appreciate how the doctor didnt try to encourage me to have his blood tested or x-rays taken. Instead she moved his legs around, listened to his breathing and took his temperature, and based on that, recommended rest and some pain medication, and to bring him back in if the symptoms seem to worsen. I am a worrier, so it would have been very easy to talk me into testing him for Lymes disease and all other kinds of maladies, and I really appreciate the fact that the staff at Life Care give me thorough information about the treatment options without pushing me toward the most costly treatment.

The animal doctors, assistants and their office staff are awesome, kind and brilliant. Always going above and beyond to take care of your animal and animal owners consistently, every visit! The highest of stars for my favorite vet, Dr. Morissette, who has treated all of dogs, cat, rat and critters for the past 20 years. I will never leave this amazing animal hospital. I do hope you too, make an appointment with the best care and facilities who will cherish, love and care for your own animal as delicately as they have done with my animals! Sincerely, Debra Samuelson written and rated also on behalf of my cherished dogs, Walter and Henry. They give Life Care Animal Hospital 4 paws up (5 is impossible) and 5 star barks for outstanding, 1st rate care in the Twin Cities.

We have been taking our cat, Leo, to LifeCare for a little over a year, and in that time, the level of compassion, kindness, and expertise we have seen from each member of the staff is top-notch. When Leo was diagnosed with severe feline diabetes, our veterinarian was kind enough to keep us informed of the financial difficulties we were facing and offer temporary alternatives until we could work out a solution. She also took the initiative to do what she could to minimize the financial impact of ongoing regular visits. The facility is clean and inviting, the staff is nice and knowledgeable, and the pricing is fair. We couldnt be more pleased!

The folks at Life Care provided care for our two Boston Terriers, including one with severe allergies and other ailments, for a number of years. Even after we moved to Lakeville from St. Paul and it was no longer convenient, we continued to bring our dogs there because it was worth the drive. They always seemed to remember our special dog and seemed genuinely concerned about her well-being. The cost of care seems fair in comparison to other places. After we moved to TX, they helped with the transition by calling in a prescription refill to the local pharmacy and mailed all of our special needs dogs records to us. (Thank you!)

Life Care Animal Hospital staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. July of this year my thirteen year old sheltie mix, Chester, was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor. After an ultrasound specialist made a visit, Chester was scheduled for surgery. It has been months and he is doing great. In fact with the successful removal of the tumor, he has increased vitality, and seems about as active as he did when he was five or six. I have been bringing my pets to Life Care for decades. My previous sheltie , Shep, lived to seventeen years, and Im sure the excellent attention from Life Care had something to do with it.

Ive always had excellent and empathetic care for my kids at Life Care from the moment we walked in the door to whatever transpired. I adopt older cats mostly with unknown origins and sometimes really poor attitudes. Except for the unknown origins I share those traits with the kids and all of us have been treated so very well. I would highly recommend Life Care Animal Hospital for anyones companions - well, the furry ones with the potential for 4 legs. FYI - Pleasant, safe, and very clean environment with many windows. Most of the supplies you may need are on-hand. Plenty of parking and easy to get to.
