I couldnt write a review specifically for the Highland Plaza location. So the 3 stars is for the average between Highland Plaza and Shoal Creek. I give Highland Plaza "2 stars". I went to Highland Plaza to get established with a Nurse Practitioner. While everyone I have encountered so far has been pleasant I feel that there may be a lack of management skills at this location. I was sent to a local hospital to have tests done and I was told by the hospital I could call Mosaic the following day for the results. I called Mosaic every day for one week with no results. They said "no news is good news" and that they would contact me when the results came in. After two weeks of waiting I called them again and asked to speak with my Nurse Practitioner directly and was told the message would be sent to her that I called. The person I left the message with acknowledged that the results had come in and she said "everything appears to be normal". I told her I would rather hear a confirmation from my doctor that my Echocardiogram is normal and I can get back to an exercise routine. I suppose if it were just an iron deficiency test I could wait two weeks but this had to do with my heart and, of course, it was a huge concern on my mind for what could have been longer than two weeks had I not called. On the other hand I give Doctor Chen at Shoal Creek "5 stars"! He has been great as a provider to my husband and brother and actually called my husband HIMSELF the following morning after his visit to let my husband know the results of the tests he had done.

DO NOT GO HERE! Terrible experiences! They are quick to get you in ....and hey if you are looking for prescriptions they are quick to write you one. (Even if your symptoms dont match what the medication is for). Hmmmm....that is the kind of doctor I want examining patients. Also, they tell you it is the patients responsibility to know your benefits (meaning I need to call before the procedure is done). Okay, I get that (even though my experience was sketchy), but then when you meet with a doctor and they use a camera to examine your symptoms(literally took 30 seconds) and then charge you $200+, but dont give you the opportunity to call your insurance company to confirm the procedure is covered..... Their response was the doctors just "dont really know what things cost, they just do it." Okay, so how am I supposed to check my benefits if the doctor doesnt even know what costs the patient extra money?...and I had no time to step out of the room and call my insurance company. I filed a formal complaint with the patient advocate line and spoke with several others in regards to the situation. They just made excuses. This facility is just waiting for a lawsuit to happen!

Im not the kind of person who wants to place bad reviews, but I took my 2.5 year old daughter to the Urgent Care here after she rode her strider into the wheel of my parked car and injured her arm and shoulder. When asked about her complaint upon check in, I said she hurt her arm and shoulder, and that I believe she needs an Xray. When we were roomed, I also expressed my desire to have radiology Xray her to the nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner told us that she was putting on an act for attention from her mom and dad, and that she likely just bumped her arm and it hurt. After three sleepless and painful nights, we took our daughter to the Childrens Mercy Clinic, where they promptly ordered and Xray and it showed a fractured clavicle. As a Mayo Clinic educated care provider myself, I am ashamed that Mayo Clinic affiliates itself with a practice such as this. I received a bill for this visit, and disputed it. They promptly sent the bill to a collections agency rather that make amends.

Do everything in your power to avoid going to any Mosaic Life Care location unless its a true emergency. If you encounter unexpected financial hardship and cannot pay for services rendered at one of their hospitals you can expect: A lawsuit filed by Mosaic Life Care against you. If you live by yourself you will have 10% of your wages garnished. If you happen to have a spouse, they will also sue her (or him), and then garnish 25% (or 25% of your paycheck, and 10% of spouses) of her paycheck. On top of that they will impose a 9% interest rate (the maximum allowed interest rate for this type of debt in Missouri). This "nonprofit" hospital seizes more money from patients than any other hospital in Missouri. This is very atypical for a hospital of its type. Nearly all nonprofit hospitals provide financial assistance or charity car to low-income individuals. At the very least, nonprofit hospitals will not sue or attempt to aggressively collect on debts from people who cannot afford it. Please stay away.

My first experience at Mosaic was Great! My son had Poison Ivy and they jumped all over it. Then when my step daughter had pains from stomach I told her to go to Mosaic. That was a BIG mistake!! She arrive at 3:45 PM right before they were going to close. They seemed like they were inconvenienced with her showing up. Then it seemed that they rushed her through doing the urine test to see if she had a UTI or what ever. The doctor came back saying that the test were negative and she might need her gall blatter out and to go to the emergency room. My step daughter already paid them $75 and didnt have anymore money to be able to pay the emergency room visit. She waited to go to her doctor on Monday and found out it was a bladder infection. I WOULD NOT recommend Mosaic to anyone. I will take my kids else were next time. Mosaic your FIRED!!!

What a wonderful experience it has been to now find a family primary APRN in Scott Hayles and Nurse assistant Crystal. I was seen as scheduled and a determination had been made to request an MRI. They recognized immediately that the urgency to get this procedure authorized, and immediately went to work and set me up the same day with a DO DR Alexander Schoofs at the Platte City Mosaic life care. Also the experience I had at the Platte City location was exceptional. I received the order to go ahead with the MRI. I returned to Shoal Creek with pleasant greetings from the staff. Then an Angel of a woman in Carla ❤️ that comforted me all the way through the procedure. Its so reassuring to have a team of medics that care so much for their patients. Thank you from my family and I.

Our first experience here was terrible, and it will be our last visit here. The staff is rude, and unprofessional. Not a single person there listened, including the surgeon. She was scared and wanted answers to which no one gave her any. She was looked down and treated like trash. Was it because shes a lesbian? Was is because she was in her work clothes that were probably dirty (because she WORKS) was it b/c you just didnt want to deal with someone asking questions? The whole experience was TERRIBLE, and the issue didnt get resolved. Im very disappointed in how this whole experience went, and how she was treated like a nobody when in fact you go to the Dr to feel like someone is going to help you - Not ignore you. Very disappointed.
