Bernardsville Animal Hospital has provided outstanding care for our two dogs for over twelve years. We are very grateful to the professional staff for not only providing premier and state of the art care for our dogs, but, also, for the love and outstanding attention and affection they give them. Year after year, the Bernardsville Animal Hospital staff is to be commended for the extensive care offered to the animals and their concern for the well being of each animal. Bernardsville Animal Hospital works in partnership with us and provides the best long term health plan for Trixie and Misty. Recently, Trixie, our older black lab, got very sick while we were away for a long weekend. We arrived home to find our dog with an extremely high temperature. She could not walk and could barely respond to us. It broke our hearts to see our lifeless friend. We immediately brought her to Dr. G and Dr. B and wept as we explained her rapid decline over the weekend as explained to us by the person caring for her. Dr. G carried Trixie from the car and began providing immediate care to her limp body. Dr. G diagnosed Trixie with aspiration pneumonia and gently explained the severity of her condition and her treatment plan for my girl. The doctors and the staff provided twenty four hour care for Trixie for the duration of her one week stay with them. We received updates during the day, beginning with an early morning call from Dr. G, after spending the night with Trixie, to let me know her progress. It was music to our ears when Dr. B told us Trixie was eating again and when Dr. G told us our girl was wagging her tail. All along, we knew our Trixie was in the best hands and we were getting the best care for her. It brought joy to our hearts and a tear to our eyes as we saw Trixie running alongside Misty on the beach last weekend. We thank the doctors for bringing our girl back to us. Bernardsville Animal Hospital will always be our care center for our animal friends. We wish to give a heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff for the amazing attention and love they have given to and will always give our pets.

I love this place! My dog loves the staff and doctors! He especially loves the liver treats. We have been patients of Dr. G and Dr. Baxter since 2001 when we adopted our dog, Skip. Over the years, they have treated him for routine medical care and everyday doggy issues. The last 2 years, they and their staff have gone above and beyond the call of duty in treating Skips debilitating illnesses. Through an ingestion poisoning incident and cancer, my family and I watched them work in emergency medical situations, in the possible end of life situations, and in the long process of recovery with our dog. They have shown Skip love and given him opportunities at a good quality of life even when we thought his life was over. They never quit on our Skip. They gave us hope during some dark days, and we are forever grateful to them. They gave generously of themselves and their time to keep our dog alive. He has received some amazing treatment there. I am so glad we chose Bernardsville Animal Hospital so many years ago. You will get great doctors and staff who will walk with you and your pet through healthy days and unhealthy days. Skips miraculous new life is a testament to the great practice they have.

We have been satisfied clients of the Bernardsville Animal Hospital for three dogs and about twenty years. First was Randy, an orange roan English Cocker. He was followed by Casey, a blue roan English Cocker. When Casey passed away we got Matilda, a delightful tricolor Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. We got Matilda as a little puppy and she is now four. The point of all this history is to say that we have worked with the Bernardsville Animal Hospital team under many different circumstances, from the beginning to the end of life, and they have been superlative throughout. The medical care is excellent, but beyond that they develop caring relationships with their patients and with their clients. They helped us through difficult times at the ends of Randy’s and of Casey’s lives, and Matilda, who still has a puppy’s temperament at the age of four, jumps into the car eagerly when we tell her we’re going to the vet and when we get there pulls at her leash with her tail wagging to get inside the building. I can’t say enough for the Bernardsville Animal Hospital.

We had over 10 years of experience bringing our cats to BAH. Drs. B and G and staff cared for several of our pets from cradle to end of life transition and I can sincerely tell you that this is the finest Veterinary clinic we have had the benefit of working with. Our cats received neutering, preventive care, diabetic therapy, tumor surgery, asthma diagnosis and treatment, dental cleaning and boarding at BAH. The doctors are active in attending conferences to develop leading edge techniques and therapies which benefitted our beloved pets. The doctors are knowledgeable diagnosticians and clinicians, but are always open to discussing different therapies that we wanted to open the door to. Their attitude to pet owners is only superseded by their abilities as physicians. If you want the best care for your pet and want to be treated with respect as the pet owner, please take your loved ones to BAH. Mel Solomon

If you are looking for a caring, loving environment to take your pet, look no further! We have been taking our cats to BAH for nearly 20 years and wouldnt consider going elsewhere. Over the years they have researched a strange skin disorder on one of cats paws, going as far as calling experts from all over the country to consult. In no time Riley had clear paws and was back in action. They have nursed and nurtured us through asthma, heart conditions and just everyday life. They have held our hands during the last moments of beloved pets lives, they call to check in to make sure everyone is doing well. The staff is equally as amazing and caring as the Drs. G and B. We are always greeted like old friends, whether in person or on the phone. Concerns are never too small, respected and replies to questions are quick. I completely trust the welfare of my pets to BAH and you should too.

As a medical doctor, I know the value of a well-informed generalist over a specialist. Drs Baxter and Gjivoje have experience with recognizing the wide spectrum of presenting symptoms of canine illnesses. This gives me comfort that the typical illness can be recognized and treated, and the atypical will be referred as appropriate. The small intimate office environment is highly preferable to the large hectic multi-specialty clinic — both for my sanity and the calming effect it has on my pet. Appointments can be made quickly rather than the many days it can take at large clinics. The nursing and office staff have always been friendly and definitely help my dogs feel calm in the small office setting. Plus, I feel confident that my pet is getting appropriate care.

While we pet owners generally may have a sense of problems with our pets, sometimes we have to rely on their veterinarians to talk for them about what they need. If I were a cat I would definitely want Drs. G and B (sometimes you get both) to interpret for me and recommend solutions. Over a number of years, I have found the entire staff of the Bernardsville Animal Hospital professional but friendly and definitely caring about my cats and me. From the client side, it has seemed that the Drs. are constantly working to keep up with new technologies and methodologies and especially with the close working relationship the Drs. have you often get two sets of eyes for a more difficult issue to ensure that nothing is missed. Would I recommend them? You bet!
