Ive posted a review but after being admitted in here for a few days Id like to retract my previous statements. Ill tell you flat out this is not a top notch hospital. Im from Philadelphia and have been going to Penn my whole life. Youre not going to get the same kind of treatment here as you would there but I guess Im just spoiled by that - we are in Elmer, NJ after all though. However, the few nurses that I have met and dealt with in the past 3-4 days have been wonderful and make up for any downfalls. The first nurse was from Inspira in Vineland, I cant remeber her name but she was extremely helpful in answering all my questions and concerns and did so with a genuine smile. The 2nd nurse I met, Wendy was just the same accompanied with smiles and great bed-side manners. Really sweet girl and on top of her job. The 3rd nurse Mary was a ball of energy and my favorite so far. No stone was left unturned she is right on top of everything and very quick might I add. She is extremely thorough and takes her job very seriously but also another one with quality bed-side manners and a great sense of humor. I know these woman when they decide to become nurses they take on a huge responsibility along with the mental stress of possible medical litigation if they make a mistake. Its really nice to see these girls do an amazing job and have people skills at the same time with so much going on. It really does mean a lot to be personable in this type of environment. I gave the hospital 4 stars for a few reasons listed below: The pharmacy inside isnt open 24 hours a day. So when you tell someone you are having an allergic reaction to something and its not a life threatening issue, the doctor you initially dealt with needs to be contacted via phone and approve any new medication? I totally understand why this is the policy but this takes entirely too long. Another bittersweet downfall is the food. The food (and Im dead serious) is really really good! Not your typical hospital food whatsoever. The problem is after 6:00 you can only get something from a vending machine. Now I dont expect there to be a full blown smorgasbord, but when taking certain medications Id like to grab something quick and easy to eat to line my stomach. And the final reason for the missing star is for the fact that I feel the place is understaffed. These nurses really do need help when there are 3 RNs to a floor to handle the huge flow of people who all have unique medical problems. They do need some aides and I believe this would make everything run more efficiently. All in all this was a pleasant experience and wouldnt mind going back if I had to

The doctors and nurses are awesome!! No complaints with the medical staff. My complaint is with the layout of the building!! Patients entrance should be where the staff entrance is. Much to far for patients to walk!!!! I have been going there almost 3 years. I have complained the whole time!! A bench is needed for patients going in!! I have arthritis and cannot walk very well or very far. I have a hard time getting into the wound center. I know a bench needs approval but it shouldnt take 3years!!! I was sick last week and do not have my strength back. Dont know how I am going to walk in that far this week!!! Not looking forward to the appointment this week!! May need to change my appointment again!!! Havent been there for 4 weeks. Something needs to be done to help patients with disabilities!!!

Excellent care in the ED. The billing department is poor. The first bill was received four months after the visit with Final Notice on it. The bill was paid in full via mail. A phone call was made to SJ Healthcare regarding this error. It was the First notice and should not be labeled as a final notice. It was the only notice received. A telephone complaint was filed with the hospital. Six days later it was sent to NCO Financial, a credit collection agency. A letter from the collection agency was received 12 days after it was paid in full. Now it is left to the Client to send a hand written letter to the agency to get this corrected. Poor business practice on South Jersey Healthcares billing department! Is this double billing? It is undue aggravation. We will not go back there.

I came in to ER with daughter, who had trouble breathing on June 22 2015 at 7:20 pm.We sat in waiting room until 12:30 am until we got called back to be treated. The nurse was rude, it was like we were bothering them.Because my daughter said something about the wait time,we sat longer.People no sicker than my daughter went back sooner.I will NEVER go back again. It was horrible.I intend to contact the news station about the way the hospital is being run.People come to the ER because they are sick not because they have nothing better to do.We finally got out by 1:45 am

This place is a disgrace to even be called an ER. My best friend came at about 9:30 with tingling and pain down her left arm. She was not properly triaged. I came to advocate for her because she does not know much about health care and I was given the 3rd degree by everyone here for trying to help my friend. If there are any other hospitals in the area, do yourself a favor and go there. I have never scene such neglectful, judgemental , and miserable people in my life. I am the bad guy because I want what is best for my friend. Dont think so.

This is a small community hospital, so dont expect them to work miracles, but they are very nice and you wont sit in the waiting room for hours like most hospitals in NJ. Whe you have something serious I recommend heading into Philly, but for things like stitches and other common problems, this hospital does it just as well as major hospitals and a lot quicker and nicer. In case you are saying, "How do you know?" I have been in about 25 different hospitals in the past 8 years and 45 surgeries in just 25 years.

although they do not have a pediatric center, they always take excellent care on my children. i took my son to vineland hospital with complaints of him being very weak, no wet diaper, and no soiled diaper for three days, and was told there was nothing wrong. I took him to Elmer the next day with the same complaints, they did an x-ray and thankfully saw that he was so backed up and constipated that if i had waited another day he would have been severely ill. The whole staff if very kind and caring.
