I wish I had the same experience as you all but I didnt. I understand they only had one Vet on duity and maybe they thought my dog was far too gone to save and maybe they were working on the cat before I came in, but My dog was in Critical condition and we brought him in around... 11:45pm... They ran a basic blood work, told us what was going on. Long story short, had to be put to sleep. After they had gave my dog the shot of epinephrine to re start his heart, *from what I understood* they said they would wait until my credit care was approved. Then from what I understand they were also working on a cats blockage. We also had to pick my dog up in the Morning, knowing full well that he would not be able to make the trip and bring him to another Animal Hospital. I was told they close up during the day but my dog needed 24hour watch. I asked if they could do a Necropsy on my dog to see what happened and the Vet told my husband it would be 5k. In texis it is $350 or something like that to do a Necropsy on a Cow. I dont know if they were pulling my leg or that is the real price but it seems a little far fetched. Anyway the Ladies that worked there were really nice and understanding. When I left the Hospital at 3am we had no idea what killed him... Well shut his kidneys down... :(

The vet wanted to put our dog under general anesthesia to do "surgery" for an ear laceration and a puncture wound. He justified that with stating that is concerned about pneumothorax and wanted to do a chest x-ray to rule that out, plus did not think treatment to topical wounds can be done with the dog moving around and without general anesthesia. Meanwhile he did not even EXAMINE the dog fully, did not palpate ribs/abdomen to check for painful areas or mobile ribs. Did not listen to lungs to check for diminished air flow as a sign of potential pneumothorax. All he did was check his gums for paleness and did not even press on the gums to evaluate blood return. Then he returned into the exam room with a written estimate totalling $800 - $1200 where an IV catheter was explained to us as being "for safety" rather than the routine means of sedative administration. When vet was discussing the estimate, he also repeatedly referred to the dog as "she" when it is a whole male. Then they charged us the standard $140 emergency exam fee. We paid up and went to Oradell Animal Hospital. There they will do twilight sedation only, the triage LVT (!) actually examined the dog fully, and the fee includes post-Tx antibiotics which were not even discussed by the vet in his rush.

Took my pit bull/boxer mix here on July 4th after she started acting completely unlike herself following a day in the pool. I had not called ahead, but they took us back right away. The doctor came in immediately, assessed her, explained what he wanted to do, gave me an estimate, and they took her back for x-rays and blood work. They were quick, efficient, and kept me informed throughout the entire process. They ended up keeping her overnight to give IV fluids and a steroid to remedy her hyponatremia. I picked her up the next morning and took her home to rest. A week later, she is back to normal. I was very worried about taking her to an emergency vet, having heard horror stories about prices and lack of compassion. I choose NJVES because, after a quick Google search, they seemed to get the highest rating. I am very glad that I chose NJVES. While the night was expensive, I do not feel that I was overcharged. Their prices were fair and their estimates were appropriate. Thank you, NJVES, for saving my baby!!

THANK YOU DR. SILVER!!!! They just saved my dogs life ... Dr. silver was able to do the almost impossible and thanks to her and the staff were happy to say my dog Bruno is alive and healthy. They were very professional and they took really good care of him. The prices seem fair and they kept me updated in everything they did or will have to do. I asked them to call me for any updates even if its in the middle of the night which they did , so thank you for that. The Dr. And staff stayed with my dog for almost 24hrs since he was in critical condition and never left his side. They went far and beyond to help my dog. I can not thank you enough, you have brought happiness to our family since we love our dog very much.

Very professional, and responsive. My cat cut his foot on Memorial Day weekend, when everyone else was closed. The staff was great, and the prices were reasonable, under the circumstances. They were careful to give me an itemized bill before treatment (reminded me of my car mechanic!), so I understood what they were doing, and what each procedure cost. They also took my regular vets information, and sent her a write up so she would be informed of what happened. I hope I dont have to return, but if I have another emergency Ill definitely come here.

Dr. Jessica Silver is amazing what she did for my Mighty boy, they have called to continuously check up his status and recovery, i will never be able to repay her for what she did. They have great customer service, very professional, and you can def tell she loves what she does and is in this profession for the well of animals. I highly recommend if theres ever an emergency with your pet go straight there. They will help you beyond means. Thank you guys so much.. Everything is very much appreciated.

Wouldnt recommend anyone coming here. They were unable to find out why my dog wasnt eating and why she continually was throwing up. They did an xray clearing her of any abnormalities. I brought my dog to Oradell and they were able to help us out, and they found an abnormality that this places missed. This place is just quick to get your money. I recommend going to Oradell. The Staff at Oradell are friendly and will work with any financial situations. Stay far away from Lyndhurst.

The vets here are excellent ! I have brought all 3 of my dogs here for treatment plus my foster dog and they all have gotten excellent treatment. I usually call ahead and let them know I am coming in. I feel like the doctor is very caring and the staff is friendly while getting you in and out. Their prices are reasonable for emergency care and everything is explained well ! The vet here has really saved us so many times from scratched corneas to infected paws !

I would not recommend this place if youre looking for a diagnosis. I went here two years ago when my cat was having a breathing issue. The vet that saw her had no bed side manner-- didnt introduce himself when he came in the room and barely acknowledged me. Said my cat had congestive heart failure and prescribed a bunch of pills. I paid a pretty big bill too. I went to my normal vet a couple days later and it turns out my cat was just having an asthma episode.

By far, THE best vet care Ive ever been around. My dog had an abscessed anal gland over a weekend. We googled it and did what we could to hold out for Monday, but couldnt. I had never been before, and they were amazing, fast, gentle, caring, everything you could ever want and more. So much better than my regular vet.
