So we had a terrible experience with the clinic today and hence I want to pen down few things that have happened in the past few visits, so that due action is taken and future patients do not suffer from what we did. trust me we are NOT going back there again! So based off their amazing reviews online we started taking our dog to this place as soon as we moved to somerset few months ago. Initially for the first few visits everything was good but, after few visits we started to experience a lot of administration/front desk issues such as: they never could locate our dog in their system and would invariably ask "has your dog been here before?" now common this was our fourth visit but we let that fly. Then, last week I noticed a swelling on my dog abdomen hence I called them to urgently visit a doctor on a Thursday morning and they couldnt fill me in for an emergency the entire day now, that fine as I understood but the front desk person had promised to call me as soon as a window came up, she never did that day nor the next week. We dint bother about that as well. However while walking my dog this morning I noticed he was in severe abdomen pain and I called them immediately to be checked. First the front desk lady asked me (after taking our dogs name) "have you been here before?" I provided all our details again while my dog was in pain and requested her to see a Doc asap. She immediately said sorry we dont do emergency appt and the earliest she can get us in was today evening. At that time my dog yelled in pain and am sure she heard it over the phone because she immediately said "Oh I can get you at 2:00pm instead" I said that would be too late and I can come and sit in the clinic and wait until a doc is free between their appointments She out-rightly said no, that is not possible and ill have to call in again to check the availability. So I asked her, if I have to wait until 2:00PM is there anything the Doc can recommend me to do (over the counter meds etc) to get our dog to relax until then, she had sorry we do not advise over the phone. At that time I was really tired of their unprofessional attitude. After this, I immediately called the other dog clinic in the area and although we had not been there before and they couldnt get us in the morning the receptionist being apologetic provided us an emergency doc info and gave his number to call immediately. In summary, although our pet is doing great now we will NEVER ever call this clinic again as am sure first, they will not find us in their system and second the receptionists are heartless!

Cedar Lane has been our familys vet for 2 generations. Dr. Bacon is my favorite of the available doctors, and has traditionally been very attentive and caring, but these days he always seems so tired and seems to be just tolerating all my questions. --- The staff are sometimes very friendly and chatty, even taking time to say hello to my pet. But other times they barely even smile and say hello before returning their attention to something else. I like to feel welcomed and remembered by these folks, and sometimes I just dont. --- I used to be much happier with Cedar Lanes services, but I dont like switching from one vet to another within the practice. I wind up standing around giving a summary of my pets issues while the doctor looks through the charts to find out basic information from previous visits. --- My biggest dissapointment with Cedar Lane came this past winter. For over a year, Ive been asking about my pets diet, and expressing my concern for his weight. Instead of actually addressing that issue, he was subjected to test after sometimes costly test, and I was told to wait & see after his "other issues" were cleared up. They sent me to a veterinary hospital for an MRI (!) to diagnose his ongoing cough. The doctor there wouldnt even do the test until hed been seen by a nutritionist and had lost some weight. Now, the dog has lost over 10% of his body weight, and his cough has disappeared with one prescription. Im left feeling angry and played for a sucker by the family vet that Ive always put so much faith in.

I have been going to Cedar Lane for almost 30 years. About 15 years ago we moved an hour south, but I still go to Cedar Lane! I never have to be worried that the Doctors at Cedar Lane will ever suggest I do something unnecessary. They always make time for me, if an emergency comes up, even if their schedule is crowded. They treat me like have a brain,...they let me tell them what I think is wrong,....Then take the time to explain things to me in detail, which is very important, I have learned a lot over the years. And when the time comes to put my fellas to sleep, its done in a gentle and careful manner. I love my animals and need to know what is going on with them so I can help them, they explain everything with endless patience. I think that is one reason I love them all so much, they take the time to explain and teach. Cedar Lane Animal Clinic is the best vet in NJ!! Its too bad they dont treat humans....Id feel much better if they were my doctors too! :)

I have had nothing but excellent experiences at Cedar Lane Animal Clinic. All the staff are exemplary and I would suggest this facility to any pet owner. Dr. Bacon, my personal fave, has a calming demeanor and impeccable bedside manner. We had to put down our cat several years ago with CLAC and the experience was loving and compassionate. They treated my little boy, EB, like a prince. Just recently our geriactric dog, Miss Princess Tilly, passed away peacefully at home. Prior to that CLAC treated her very well and delicately. They even sent condolence flowers, which is above and beyond in my opinion. When my mom has to take the pets (weve since acquired two cats after letting EB go) they make it a point to have two people come outside: one to carry the girls and another to help my mom walk in. I LOVE Cedar Lane Animal Clinic, I wish they could see humans as well :)

Im still new to New Jersey after my husband and I adopted our fur babies from the shelter, we struggled to find a good veterinary clinic to take them to. Recently our senior kitty was feeling under the weather and I wanted to find a new clinic for her since I was less than pleased with the first clinic we tried. After calling around, Cedar Lane was the first place that could get me in the same day. Our veterinarian was gentle and kind with our little one. She quickly got her studies taken care of and was willing to spend time with me in person and later, on the phone, to discuss my concerns and answer all of my questions. The rest of the staff were also pleasant and easy to work with. It is easy to see why this clinic is so highly rated. I will definitely be coming here for all of my pet needs while I am in New Jersey. Thank you, Cedar Lane Animal Clinic.
