Ive been coming to Stanhope Eye Associates for years and have never had an issue until this year. On the 1st of April I had my eye appointment and proceeded to order frames and lenses. Everything was great and I had no issues. The doctor was professional and polite. I was quoted that it would take 7 to 10 business days for them to arrive. It is now the 18th of April and they have still yet to arrive. Now I understand problems happen... but what has forever turned me away from Stanhope Eye Associates is the attitude that I just now received from one of the office attendants upon my call to ask for an update as to where my glasses were. I received a rude and hurried response somewhere along the lines of "we will call you when the glasses are done" and "Ive explained their was a problem with the glasses last time you called (5 days ago)." Thank you for the quality work over all the years Stanhope Eye Associates but it is apparent things are now heading downhill. Paying a premium for rude customer service is something Im never willing to do again. Next year I will be taking my eye exam elsewhere and/or may just order my glasses online. Edit: The same attendant just called me back to let me know she called the lab and that the glasses should be here by the 20th. If all goes well I may simply retract or update this review upon receiving my glasses. April 19th Update: I just received a call from a Dr. Klaus (sorry if thats mispelled?), who gave me an update in detail and a time-line as to the issues surrounding the delay and arrival of my glasses. This is the kind of customer service and communication I was hoping for each time I called the office wondering what exactly was going on. Thank you for this call. He also mentioned that the remainder of my cost will be waived due to these issues. That wasnt needed but is highly appreciated. This call had redeemed my opinion of Stanhope Eye Associates. I may be making a final update to this review upon receiving my glasses on Thursday or Friday.

My eyeglasses usually cost me a fortune. I have a vision plan, but lens crafters, Pearl and Big Store" nickel and dime everything. Theyll charge me two exam fees, for contact and eyeglass exam. REALLY! ends up costing me 800 or so. Thats a boatload of cash to drop. I went here bc i broke my glasses and needed a new pair, and emergency contacts. My ins. found them. Well, I walked in and felt normal. The reception ladies greeted me. Not, Welcome, to BLAH BLAH spiel. Good old fashion, Hello. super nice, efficient and clean. They didnt just try to get the sales. Doc understood my issues with new contacts and poor fit, Listen to my lopsided ear issues and glasses. The whole shabang. They had great frames at real prices. Not the crazy mark up the big stores have. My exams, frames, lenses, they thinned them, and protected coating,and trial contacts it only cost about 225-250. You may say it sounds expensive, but honestly, i was never able to find frames that would hold my lenses for less than 400. That would be for the frames only. then the real robbery would happen. All adding up to 800 bucks. NOT HERE! I havent had this feeling, ever! Im 41, w/ terrible vision my entire life. Misdiagnosed, poor fit, you name it...I hadnt been able to see correctly for years without paying a small fortune. Im so glad I found them! I can see, and afford to go food shopping for the family.

I was grateful the Stanhope office, Through the Branchville office, was able to see me on an emergency basis. The office staff was very friendly and Dr. Fabery is wonderful. She is both caring and professional .
