Updated 2016.11.01 (original post below): Ive been Dr. Ms patient for three years now and both her and her staff are still just as helpful as when I was a new patient. About two weeks ago, I did something very stupid that involved hydrogen peroxide in my eye (dont judge, we all have our adulting fail moments). I called her office and explained my mishap. Her staff was friendly, helpful, and non-judgmental (important here when youre feeling not very smart) and gave me some interim relief procedures but advised me to call back if it was still bothering me. My eye still wasnt feeling better a day later, so I called back and they were able to squeeze me in for a medical visit, for which I was highly appreciative because I was headed on a international business trip that weekend. Dr. M was able to look at my eye condition accurately assess that a bottle of sample drops would be enough to help my eye feel better. Thats what I like best about Dr. M: She could have given me a prescription and have it cost me another 50 to 100 bucks, but instead, she knew that a sample would be enough (and indeed it was) so thats what we went with. I really appreciate her approach to put herself in the patients seat and I think that goes a long way. She knew that after a week, I really wouldnt have any need for a full bottle steroidal eye drops. I went back earlier this week and had my routine vision exam. As usual, she was helpful, attentive, and patient. Her staff are on their A-game, too. Before I pulled out of the parking lot, I already had the receipt e-mailed to my inbox. I received the survey for her services like I always get after every annual check-up and (of course) marked everything as "still awesome." Still recommend for anyone searching for an eye doctor. New to Charlotte like many of the other reviewers and found Dr. Mumford after cross-referencing between Google, Yelp, and my health provider for the best reviews. Dr. M is the best eye doctor Ive had (no joke) and Ive met them all because I have pretty terrible eyesight. She has a great bedside manner and is patient and willing to listen to your concerns. She encourages questions to help you understand the condition of your eyes and is willing to brainstorm with you solutions that you are comfortable with. Everything is digitized here and thats a big thing for me. She even sends out a survey after your visit to see where she can improve her services. How many doctors do you know do that? This is a first and shows she cares about what she does. Definitely recommend.

I was looking to get my annual eye exam this year and decided to do a search to find something different than what Ive used in the past. Upon looking I found Innovative Eye Care and all of the five star reviews. I can tell you this, the reviews are warranted. I really enjoyed working with the friendly staff, who all seem to be very knowledgeable. I also enjoyed the more advanced technology and methods that they used compared to some other places I have been. It felt like they were extremely well versed in both the tried and true methods of optometry as well as newer/more advanced methods. Dr. Mumford is extremely knowledgeable and has a great calming demeanor about her. I felt extremely at ease throughout the entire exam and I felt like it was important to her that I understood exactly what she was doing, why she was doing it, and why it was important. Bessie, their contact lens technician, was a real trooper... Being this was the first time I have really tried to wear contacts I was having quite some difficulty getting used to putting them in and taking them out. She help me for seemingly forever to make sure I stay calm and continually gave me tips to help me learn how to use my contacts. Theres no way I would have got as far as I did without her. In closing, if you are looking for a far superior experience and overall customer service is important to you then this is by far your first choice.

This review is long overdue but the staff I experienced at Innovative Eye Care were amazing! Dr. Michelle Mumford, Bessie, Shirley, and Jenn were all incredible to me. I LOVE the frame selection there and was very happy with the ones I decided to purchase. Since they didnt have the color in stock that I wanted, they ordered them immediately which was very sweet of them. If I ended up not liking the color once trying them on, there was no charge. Dr. Mumford was very thorough with my exam and answered all my questions. Love their advanced technology as well. The Optic scan technology allowed me to go home with out dilation and view different images of my eyes that she explained to me. The office is so clean and beautiful... almost as if you are walking into a boutique. Very warm and friendly atmosphere. I would definitely recommend Innovative Eye Care to my friends! Thank you for a great experience!

Dr. Mumford has provided the best eye care I have ever experienced! She has been walking me through a severe dry eye issue and we have seen great results thanks to her knowledge, expertise, and commitment to finding the right treatment. My quality of life has improved so much! Dr. Mumford is kind and compassionate and truly cares about her patients. Shes extremely personable and does an excellent job explaining whats going on with the eye. She has also made herself accessible when Ive had eye issues in between visits and that goes a long way. Bessie, Shirley and her entire team are wonderful as well- friendly, flexible, professional, and prompt! Dr. Mumford and her staff take the time to help you understand your insurance and costs. Their technology is also cutting edge. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Mumford, her office, and her team!!!!!

We found Michelle early after our arrival in Charlotte. My wife saw her first and was quite pleased. Trudy has several challenges to vision and Dr. Michelle dealt with all of them effortlessly and with understanding. Based on Trudys experience, I scheduled my annual exam. I found it an equally pleasant experience and was also quite impressed. Michelle has a complete understanding of the special vision problems diabetics face and handled them superbly. Most impressive, my prescription hadnt changed and I did not need new glasses. She not only told me that, she offered complimentary adjustment and free nose pieces for the glasses I was wearing. In 15 years, I have never been to an optometrist who didnt find it necessary to sell me new glasses at least annually. Honest, professional, knowledgeable and concerned.

Absolutely the best in every way. How much more simply can I say it? Great location. Tastefully decorated office complete with a huge selection of eyewear....and a Keurig machine. The absolute most helpful and friendly staff youll find anywhere. Dr. Mumford is both knowledgable, caring, and so friendly (who else includes memos on how your job and kids are doing along with your medical notes from year to year?). Hands down the best optical experience Ive found in over 10 years. Do book in advance, however--theres a reason shes in such high demand that appointments usually arent available for a month or two! Dont waste your time looking elsewhere--just go here. :) Dont just take my word for it either--try to find any other office that has this many good reviews! FORTY-THREE reviews, and EVERY ONE is 5 stars!!
