The office staff and both dentists are very nice and professional. However, their billing is dishonest and highly unprofessional. The first time I went to Dr. Amison in Dec. 2015 I was shopping around for dentists that accepted my insurance. I called them and they confirmed they were IN NETWORK with MetLife. Obviously I would never chose to go to an out of network doctor as that makes no financial sense and I was specifically seeking an In Network dentist. I should have verified that they were in network but I didnt expect them to blatantly lie to me. I only found out they were NOT in network a few weeks ago when I was in for a broken tooth/filling and made the comment that my insurance was changing to a different provider and the billing lady said "oh thats great, were in network for them." And I said "youre not with MefLife...?" And she said no... It is absolutely unacceptable (and likely illegal) to claim to patients that youre in network, allow them to schedule procedures, and then bill them the higher out of network cost. I assumed this was the correct in network cost for these procedures based on their initial deception and trusted them and had no reason to question it. In addition, both times I have been here I was quoted a price that I paid and then received a bill a week or two later that was higher (this time by $43). When I questioned them the billing lady says "we can only estimate what the insurance pays". Why is it that EVERY SINGLE doctor, dentist, or specialist I have been to in my ENTIRE life knows the correct amount the insurance is going to pay and doesnt turn around and add charges after the fact? It makes no sense, is dishonest and downright unprofessional. Why can I find the amount the insurance pays for procedures in my app on my iPhone, but your billing dept cant seem to figure it out? Unfortunately their inability to properly bill people isnt limited to just me as they have reviews on many websites with similar issues. Its likely their existing and otherwise satisfied patients arent even aware that theyre being taken to the cleaners. Check your bills!! Its unfortunate that their unprofessional and dishonest billing practices overshadow their otherwise very professional dentists and staff in a major way. I plan to file a complaint with the Ohio State Dental Board and the BBB. Stay away from these deceptive people.

The care I receive goes beyond excellent. Everyone is absolutely wonderful, especially Dr. Amison. The problem I had when I visited was that I was asked if I would like to get a cleaning. I replied that yes I would, since it had been some time since my last one. Now, I only have four lower teeth and am about to have two implants within the next two months. I felt the charge for the cleaning was a little high since I am on Social Security. I would not have been unhappy if my whole month of teeth had been cleaned, but the last dentist I had, who is still in Tuscarawas County, would only charge me for the ones I had cleaned, which was six at that time, and charged accordingly. I really do like Dr. Amison, but I feel he needs to possibly think about this. With being on Social Security, and having no Insurance, I have to watch how my money is spent. Since the writing of this rating, which was over two months ago, I have talked to Dr. Amison and he has dealt with this in a very professional way. I appreciate him doing this and I will absolutely continue to see him and would highly recommend him as someones Dentist. Please read this thoroughly because I was upset at first, but now Dr. Amison has truly handled it well.

Dr. Amison and his staff are wonderful. They take the time when you first visit to learn about YOU and dont treat you like a number. The office is clean and modern. You are immediately greeted upon arrival by name (no signing in on a clipboard) and I have never waited more than a few minutes to be brought back. Today, I needed a cleaning and also to have a couple fillings done. I am extremely uncomfortable in a dentists office and they have put me at ease. Today I was brought back and checked in by Dee. My teeth were cleaned and novacaine shots were administered by Jeanne. I am happy to report that I did not even feel the shots! Dr. Amison did my fillings with assistance by Kelly. He is friendly, knowledgable, and most importantly conservative in his treatment plan. He is the first dentist I have visited in years that did not try to upsell me on every little thing. If you have a dentist you are marginally happy with or are looking for one, you need to immediately call his office and visit him. I found him on Google when I had a dental emergency and they worked me in and have a patient as long as I am in the area. I love Dr. Amison and his incredible staff.

Been with Dr. Amison office since the beginning of this year for filling, cleaning and Invisalign services, my experience has been great so far. Every time I ask a question about anything in my dental health, Dr. Amison and his staff would go far and beyond than they should have to answer me. Better yet, they would take time to show me the picture/mirror of my teeth to make sure it was exactly the one I was concerned about. More than once, I feel more educated with new dental knowledge from them and feel more certain about where I am in my dental health. The office runs efficient. The staff are professional and cooperative to patients need. I dont feel like Im being pushed to get any service that I dont want. My unexpected schedule changes were always happily assisted.

Dr Amison & his staff are so wonderful!!! I hated going to the dentist before & actually avoided going for quite some time. I needed some dental work done & after doing some research, I took a leap of faith & decided to give Dr Amison a try. From the phone call to schedule my appointment to the time I left after my visit, I was so blown away. Beautiful office filled with beautiful people. I truly feel every time I go, I am treated exceptionally well & with the best of care. Please do not be like me & stay away from the dentists because of a past bad experience. I PROMISE you Dr Amison & his staff will make sure you have a wonderful experience & will actually WANT to come back! :) Thanks again Dr Amison, Lori, & Melissa! Yall are the best!

I have been a client of Dr. Amison for a few years. Everyone at the office is very polite, kind, and attentive. They always take the time to remember things about you- rather than making you feel like just a number. There are various options for payment, and they work hard and with you to find the best option for your budget. They are always willing to go out of their way to make your experience great. I would never see another dentist, or dental team. They are knowledgeable and your dental care and health is their number one priority. Ive recommended several people to Dr. Amison, and I will continue to do so! Also, they are very flexible with scheduling which is very important if you have a busy and unpredictable schedule.
