I lived in Columbus for 10 years and had my dog with me for the last 6 of them. It took me a while to find a good vet, but once I found Fifth and Kenny and Dr. Custer I knew I had found the best one in town. I have never had an experience as positive as EVERY experience here. Very honest and prices were reasonable. I even had the vet just charge me for a tech exam once when she very quickly determined that the problem was very minor and didnt need a full exam - this solidified me as a customer. While other places have made me feel taken advantage of in terms of pricing, Fifth and Kenny has always provided quotes and options and told me what they would do with their own pets. You can tell they really care about each animal they work with, are aware of the hard decisions and financial constraints that can come along with veterinary care, and are not dismissive about owners concerns (no matter how minor!). I recently moved out of state and I think the thing I miss the most about Ohio is Fifth and Kenny Animal Hospital. I havent been able to find a vets office that even comes close to as wonderful as they are.

What a great group of people. They are amazing to work with and really care about the animals. I have 2 dogs and have taken them here since they were puppies in 2009. I am just writing this review now because even though they have always been amazing to work with they just saved my dogs life. She was in to get a benign mass removed. Once they were finished removing it and while she was still out the did a full body scan for her and found another mass that I was not able to locate. This one was not benign and was a stage II Mass Cell Tumor. Because they caught it that day it did not spread to other areas and she did not require expensive Cancer treatment that may not have been enough to save her life. Not only did they schedule an appointment for me at Med Vets to follow up but they called ahead and made a point to tell the oncologist how great my dog was and that she was special to them. My girl is now happy and healthy and cancer free thanks to the amazing work of the team at Fith and Kenny Animal Hospital.

Fifth & Kenny Animal Hospital is just the best vet practice around. It’s telling that even after dozens of blood draw appointments, my pup is still bouncing with excitement every time we walk in the door. My poor little guy has had a whole series of complicated (and expensive) medical issues in his first 2 years of life, but their staff has consistently gone out of their way to make his treatment as easy & affordable as possible – scheduling appointments around my work schedule, keeping me in the loop as they work with his OSU hospital specialists, and even shopping around for the best prices on his medication and compounding it in-house (taking it from potentially hundreds of dollars a month down to 1/10th the cost I was paying at OSU). My dog is family to me, and in every interaction I’ve had with Fifth & Kenny, it’s evident that they feel the same way about their pets and their patients. I wouldn’t entrust his care to anyone else. We’re so sincerely appreciative for all that they do!

Everyone here is so caring. It seems like they love all over every animal that comes in the door. When you go in they know your pets name, quirks it may have, your name, etc. I dont know if theyre just that great or if they make a point of checking each file before you arrive. :) Either way, thats the kind of service you only get from a small, personal place like this. You leave feeling like you and your pets really matter to them. Dr. Custer is wonderful! Hell flop right down on the ground with your dog or cat to do the exam if thats what your pet needs. Hes patient and thorough when answering questions/concerns, and when we sadly had to make the decision to put down an elderly pet whose kidneys were failing, he gave us all the information and time we needed to come to that difficult decision. I dont think I can give him a greater compliment than to say that my dogs tails wag every time they see him and they are never reluctant to enter the building.

I have always recommended Fifth and Kenny to any friend looking for a vet. Dr. Custer put my cat to sleep a few years ago, and I was so grateful for her gentleness and care in such a sad situation. However, today I got turned away from scheduling a visit. I suspect my cat has a UTI, and I wanted to schedule an assessment. My cat has been peeing in inappropriate places, but shes not crying out in pain, drinking/eating less or experiencing blood in her urine. Shes acting her usual self, just peeing on my shoes instead of the box! I just wanted to schedule a visit to see if my cat needed treatment or if this is behavior related. The receptionist told me to call somewhere else because she didnt want my cat to wait two days with her "potential" UTI... All the other clinics I called have the same wait time, and they stated I didnt need to take her to immediate services unless any other symptoms appeared. Ill take my business to a clinic that wants it.

I wont take my pets anywhere else! Dr. Jack, Dr. Josh, and the entire staff are absolutely THE BEST!! You can just tell they truly love animals. Appointments are never rushed. They take the time necessary to make sure my pets are comfortable, even getting down on the floor at their level, playing and being affectionate with them before an exam. Reasonably priced and no unnecessary tests or charges. I have a special needs dog, and they are always patient with my questions and concerns. Caring, compassionate, understanding, and so easy to talk to. I highly recommend them to everyone. 110% confident my pets will receive the best veterinary care at Fifth & Kenny Animal Hospital!!

The staff at 5Th & Kenny is amazing. It is obvious that every member genuinely cares for the well being of my pet. They are very thorough and do an excellent job of explaining the issues at hand. One would think this it how it is at all clinics, but we know its not. Having a parent that has been in the veterinarian field for 25 years, though out of state, I can say without hesitation that there will be only two people that I take my dog to, my parent or the staff at 5Th and Kenny. If you want the best for your pet, you will do the same too!

I cannot give this vet clinic enough praise. Bring your pet here if you want a vet that you can trust. Dr. Custer and Dr. Teeders went out of their way to help support us when our dog was diagnosed with cancer. Our new dog has been diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder, and they have been great in supporting us through it. They are friendly, available, and great. The pricing is reasonable, especially considering the outstanding care that you and your pet receives. I recommend them to everyone, I would never take my dogs anywhere else.
