I have boarded my dogs here for the second and last time ever. When I called to make the arrangements, they gave me the price and told me that my dogs were out of date on their Bordetella shots. I also told them that I would be picking my dogs up on Saturday afternoon. I then went to my vet to get another copy of their shot records, and told them what they said at Gahanna about them needing the shots again. My vet said have them call us and we will tell them that they are current. When I dropped my dogs off, I told them about the shots and that my vet said to call her, they refused and said that they are more up to date on these things then most and that the shots are only good for 6 months. As I was no headed out of town, I had no choice but to agree to let them give it to them again. Now my $85 bill, is now going to be $145. Now if that wasnt bad enough, they say since they had not seen my dogs in over 6 months, that they have to give them both an examination, Mind you I do not live near this place, my dogs are taken care of by my vet, but yet again, I had to leave, so there adds another $80 now making the bill now a total of $225. Then when I say I will be here Saturday afternoon to pick them up, she tells me, we close at one and if youre not here by noon, you will be charged for another day! I said Im glad you told me, but when I called to make the arrangements, it would have been nice of the woman had told me on the phone that day, Then after my dogs are there for 9 hours, I get a call telling me that one has a very bad ear infection, and that they had to dig deep to find that the other has one as well, and wanted permission to treat them. I was so hot under the collar at this point, I told them, no, I will take them to my vet when I get home. My dogs do not have an ear infection, they are not scratching at their ears, no whining, one has had an infection before and I know the signs and symptoms of this. I didnt get into it with them, but I wonder what they did to the one they had said that they had to dig deep to find she too had an infection, was that digging really necessary? They are just money grubbing thieves and I would recommend that you look elsewhere to board your pups!

OK. #1) they will NOT give scripts for online meds for their patients/clients, THEY do however do PRICE MATCHING! If you find it cheaper online, print it out (along with the shipping costs), and bring it in, and they will pricematch it for you! This is even better for me, no waiting, I get a great price, save a lot of money, and "I KNOW WHERE THE MEDS CAME FROM!" Safe, cheaper, and my vet does this so we wont buy stuff online that could be unsafe or questionable. Not every vet does this! (JUST ASK!) GAHANNA ANIMAL HOSPITAL does! (The dog/cat/etc will have to be a client of theirs to do this.) #2) I switched to them because my other "fancy" vet with the shiny new office wanted to do a total ear ablation surgery to make my adopted cocker deaf! They just were not experienced enough, and offered that as my only option after the standard treatment didnt help. I SWITCHED to G.A.H. and to Dr. Nancy Rich, and in a few short weeks, we saw massive improvement, and in about 6 months, her ears are healthy AND pain free! They saved my dogs hearing and without surgery. So I switched my cat and five other dogs to G.A.H. and to Dr. Nancy Rich. #3) They are a BUSY small hospital, they may not be the shiniest, brand spankin new building and insides as some vets offices are, but let me tell you, the care weve received since I switched over the last 3 years for all of my pets has exceeded well beyond my expectations. My dogs and cat are healthy, and they pricematch, and getting expensive medicine and flea and heart worm prevention on six pets can be costly, theyve saved me hundreds on those alone! I love the vets and staff at Gahanna Animal Hospital, and I recommend them to all I know. Especially Dr. Nancy Rich, shes a true caring and lovely individual and she gave my one cocker spaniel a second opinion, and her chance at a normal life, and she delivered! She is our dog hero!

We have had nothing but the best experiences with Gahanna Animal Hospital. I cant really speak for the reception because ive not had much interaction with them other than setting appointments or paying bills but i can say that we always use Dr. Worman and he has always been nothing but helpful, knowledgable, informative, and pleasant. We have taken Bo and Winston in a number of times for shots and check ups, but when Winston broke his leg about 5 months ago, Dr. Worman helped us get him fixed up back to normal with minimal cost, while recognizing our limited budget. Winston ultimately healed beautifully and was running around, back to his normal self. I was really happy with the results considering the severity of damage. I always felt like Dr. Worman gave me his utmost attention and i never felt like i was being rushed out of there. I really feel like its not fair for only negative reviewers to come on here and give "one star" ratings. Cmon people was it really that bad? People are always compelled to bring forth a negative review vs. a praise. I will keep going there for Bo, despite loosing my precious Winston this weekend due to getting hit by a car. Thank you staff and Rest in Peace baby boy, Godspeed.

We boarded our dogs here because of good things we heard this hospital. However, when we got our dogs back,we were informed that one dog was very anxious the whole time boarding to the point he was red and was having multiple episodes of diarrhea. They said they spoke with the vet about this. I was first upset that they did not call to find out if my dog was like this and that when we got home he started to have bloody stools. This was one of three problems. The second problem, they smelt terrible. We understand they are boarded, however other places asked us if we wanted them bathed. We did not know they do not bathe the doggies for you because this is an extra expense and optional. The third and final problem that lead to this terrible experience, the medication for our dog was not returned to us and of course it was a sunday pick up ( this means we could not get the medication until the next day). We were unable to get our dogs medication and give it to him on time. This might have been just a bad experience but we will never go here again, our dogs were very anxious and medically not ok.

Liked the place at first - went there for years, never going back though. Brought my puppy in last year to get fixed, everything appeared to go well. I got a call to come pick him up, still everything seemed normal - nothing out of the ordinary. When I arrived to the hospital, they brought my puppy out and told me that he has a (pretty damn big) infection by his stitches (looked like a strawberry was implanted). They informed me that he was alone in a cage during the healing process, but he didnt have a cone on his head because "that is an additional fee". (This was a nurse, not the doctor - never saw him) So rather than using a temporary cone, charging me about $10 extra, or taking the time to ask/call me ahead of time regarding this, they instead did nothing and apparently didnt check him until I arrived. A pet shouldnt suffer, cry, or struggle to sit or lay down for over a week due to incompetent workers. I honestly lost all trust with this place and am completely disappointed.
