Never will I stay a night in this hospital again! I will drive the extra time to Coldwater than the couple minutes to here from my home. Spent one night on the second floor and it was the worst experience Ive ever had and had been treated by all three shift nurses, first shift nurse being the worse (I wrote every nurses name down, as well as documented times and incidences). Their lack of compassion, concern, response and attentiveness was so horrible, that the next day I decided I would rather be home in severe pain (against doctors order), than stay another night on that floor. I am in my 40s and I was admitted for a laparoscopic surgery with the intentions of staying one night, but my surgeon wanted me to stay a second night because my pain was not maintained/managed (i.e., nurses not performing their duties). If there was enough room in this review, as it would be pages, Id explain every reason and detail what the nurses did, or didnt do and even misleading the doctors of their duties (e.g., saying to the surgeon they were in my room checking every hour when in fact, at times, I didnt see anyone for 2½ hours). I currently am having complications from that surgery where my surgeon will need to surgically repair. I have avoided the ER during this time, as I would not have gone to JTDMH ER and I will choose to have my surgeon do the surgery at Coldwater hospital this time, and any thereafter. Although I didnt have any complaints towards the operating team, recovery team, or anyone during my testing, procedures or pre-op, etc., the second floor nurses were just enough that I cant take the chance of having to stay the night again on the second floor, its not worth it. Id rather suffer in pain like I have been post-op, as stated above, than endure those rude bedside manner nurses (to put it lightly).

A close family member was treated here the final days of his life. He had been diagnosed with bone, liver and lung cancer. There was one nurse, and ONLY one nurse, who was attentive and caring. It was as if the staff members who came into his room were not aware of his diagnosis. His main complaint was the pain from the bone cancer which was in his left upper thigh and hip. PT came in with no disregard for his pain and demanded he try to stand and sit up in a chair. He repeatedly told them no, it hurts too much but they continued telling him I know but you can do it.... I and other family members were in shock. When we questioned his physician he stated that he never ordered any PT and would take care of it. After he was moved to the unit which was the last level before hospice, a nurse came in with paperwork needing signed... instead of waiting for an immediate family member she just let whomever was in the room at the time, the gentlemans niece, to sign. This should of never happened !! His spouse and daughter had just gone down to the cafeteria. They were still in the building! We had asked for a radio to play his favorite music. We were told there would be one, there never was. I did give a "2" rating for the one nurse we liked and for the time they gave me with him as I was there when he passed. I would choose this hospital over Coldwater any day but in all reality, would not go to either one with anything serious. Theres more I could go on about but its too painful to continue recalling that time.

My boyfriend went to the emergency room at Joint Township Memorial Hospital for extreme upper leg pain. He had Doctor Karen J. Green. She was the absolute worst Doctor. She was extremely rude, sarcastic, and mean. She made the patient feel like it was his fault that he was in pain. She said that she couldnt examine him because he couldnt get onto the examining table (he was in too much pain to move or walk). I do not know why she couldnt examine him in the wheelchair. We came to the hospital for him to be examined! She kept telling him to straighten his leg when clearly he couldnt because of the pain he was in. She then made fun of him when he couldnt do it. She answered every question we had with extreme sarcasm. I was in shock at how terrible a doctor could treat a patient. He left still in extreme pain. I really hope it is not something serious. We went to the emergency room to get some answers and to get him some pain relief, but we received neither. I would highly recommend asking for another doctor if you get Karen J. Green. Our nurse on the other hand, Jenna, was very helpful, friendly, and nice. I called human resources and am waiting to hear a response back. I hope that they are able to acknowledge that we did not receive proper treatment at St. Maryss hospital and change our bill to reflect that.

I took my 5 yr old son there with a swollen neck and lymph nodes. There was no one ahead of us but we waited 45 minutes. While waiting, I offered my insurance information but was told it would be collected at the end of our visit. When we saw the dr, she said my son had an infection. Swabbed the back of his throat for strep throat. Told me the swab came back negative and prescribed him steroids. Then I had to sit in an office another 20 minutes giving insurance information. Then they called me 2 days later and told me his test was positive for strep throat. Asked me which pharmacy Id like his antibiotics called into. So I go to that pharmacy after work only to be told nobody from the hospital called anything in. So the next day I call my son in sick from school and with a few other calls to the hospital I finally get his prescription. Then I go back to the hospital to request a note stating my son has strep throat so I can give it to the school. The hospital tells me they cant give me a note, I should take him to a family dr!!! SAVE YOURSELF THIS FRUSTRATION, drive the extra 20 minutes to coldwater.

Will never return to this place ever again. Went to urgent care because of a horrible cough that wouldnt go away. The doctor was so rude and hardly explained anything to me. I had to ask the nurse why I was getting a shot because I had no idea. The "doctor" said that I would need antibiotics if all else failed and after three days (when absolutely NOTHING I was given had worked), I first called the doctors number (its posted on their site) and left a message. I never received a call back. I then called urgent care numerous times, telling them my situation and they refused to give me ANY information. I was told the only thing I could do was to come in again, but I would be charged for everything all over again.. which I refused to do. My bill and prescriptions combined came out to nearly $400 for NOTHING. I remained sick for another three weeks AFTER my visit. I coughed so much that I lost my voice for about a month. Absolutely ridiculous and WAY overpriced. Only go here if you dont expect any results and have a lot of money to burn.

The staff on the 3rd night on second shift was very rude especially nurse Kim. Just for asking what time I was going to get discharged and if I could put my clothes on until then. I was in to have a Kidney stone crushed. Been waiting for 5 hours and told I would be leaving at 6, but still sitting; And i was told that i should make a appointment with my doctor first before showing up at the urgent care, well for one thing i didnt know I was going to be passing a kidney stone until I started filling the pain of it...and another thing it was Sunday, the doctors office is closed...duh! Isnt that the whole reason for urgent care. I feel that some of those so called caregivers should go get some more education and with that some extensive common sence...PLEASE!!!
