About two months ago I visited because I needed to figure out what my dog was allergic to. Dr. V.M. Collen lied to me about the nature of blood allergen tests- saying that they "were not accurate." She recommended a series of expensive hypoallergenic dog foods, which I could buy at her establishment, instead. I got a second opinion from another vet, who disagreed. They said that blood allergen tests were indeed a very accurate method of finding out a dogs allergies. Today in an emergency I visited this vet again because my dog was coughing. Dr. Collen made me wait over 30 minutes to see me, and when she did, she barely spent over 10 minutes with me. She barely gave me any time to explain the type of infection that my dog had, and did not explain the antibiotic that she was prescribing for it. The nursing assistant was sarcastic and condescending when I requested more information, and frequently interrupted me to finish my sentences. At one point I had to literally ask him to please stop speaking and wait, while I myself googled the answer to whether or not I even needed the medication, while he sat there and stared at me. After two minutes of staring at me, he left the room. I called another vet for a second opinion to help me with my decision. (My dog actually did need an antibiotic to help with an upper respiratory infection. Had Dr. V.M. Collen taken the time to explain that to me I would have understood that. Had Dr. Collen not lied to me about the nature of blood allergen tests I would have believed her.) This doctor barely gives her patients the time of day to convey information and whatever information she does communicate is a lie, in order to get the patient to choose the most expensive option. Her assistant will scoff at you if you request more time to google the necessity of the recommended treatment. Unless you enjoy being dismissed, lied to, and jeered at, then seriously avoid this vet.

I will not be using the kennel services again. I left my 7 month old puppy here for 3 days and my kennel bill should have been around $70. After the first day, apparently my dog threw up 3 times and they felt it was important to take x-rays to diagnose the issue but not important enough to use the emergency contact number provided and let me know beforehand to discuss possible options. Instead, they attempt to contact me at the HOME number I provided. (Umm, if I was home, I wouldnt have needed the kennel services.) Since I didnt answer, they proceeded to take x-rays. Then they called the EMERGENCY number provided afterwards and managed to reach me to let me know what they had already done and that the x-rays showed nothing. They also stated they would call me the following day to follow up on his condition. However, the following day, they decided to call the HOME number again and leave another message. The next day, I returned home and got my messages. When I picked up my dog, I informed them how displeased I was with their actions and paid my $350 bill. My complaint was suppose to be passed on to the office manager but apparently it was not worth a phone call at all to them.

Ive been with them for 5 years now and have had my suspicions that they have questionable business ethics, with all the things they recommend and warn about whenever any sort of visit occurs. Recently I found out that I was being heavily overcharged on medication for my dog. When I mentioned this I was coldly told to just go get it elsewhere, and the doctor who spoke to me had a very condescending tone. Would not recommend to anyone.

The WORST manner i have ever seen from a doctor / vet . A vet is a professional, and needs to act as so, needs to take into consideration the effect of the words spoken to the pet owners. I myself will never recommend this place to anyone for anything for any reason. And further more make shure no one thinks this is a good place to go.

The staff takes very good care of my Amercan Bulldog. Also, excellent kennel facilities and grooming services. I have been taking my girl there for years. I used to take her to another vet, who seemed scared of her breed.

Weve been taking our pets to Family Pet Center for many years. I wouldnt take our beloved pets anywhere else. It is a bit pricey for sure. But, the care is is excellent, and the workers are top notch!!
