Dr. Spendal and his staff are fabulous! I went to his office to have my wisdom teeth removed. I opted to be awake for the procedure, rather than having general anesthesia, despite the fact that my lower two teeth were going to require a bit of drilling to remove. It seems that most oral surgeons are hesitant to allow patients to be awake when they have impacted wisdom teeth, but Dr. Spendal was totally awesome and didnt mind. He was very honest about the procedure, the amount of noise involved, the risks, etc, but never tried to talk me out of it, something another oral surgeon tried to do. Ultimately, I ended up getting three of my wisdom teeth removed entirely and had a coronectomy on the fourth (he removed just the crown, leaving the roots behind). This was done because the nerve in my jaw was running directly between the roots of my tooth and he was afraid of causing nerve damage. During my consultation, he thought it would be a good idea to get a 3D scan of my jaw to see exactly where that nerve was in relation to my tooth, and obviously found a problem! I am so glad that he took the time to get all the information about my teeth! Dr. Spendal and his staff made the surgery a breeze! Dr. Spendal and Livia were making jokes with me before the procedure, which helped put me at ease. The actual surgery was quick! I was in and out of the office in about an hour! I had no pain during the procedure (which you shouldnt, but sometimes things happen...) and minimal pain afterwards. Later that day, Dr. Spendal called me himself to check up and make sure I was doing okay! He called a few days later to check in again! Im so not used to that! Not only all this, but I had a very small window of opportunity to have all this done before losing insurance. His office was very accommodating to my schedule, which is not an easy thing to do, considering I work in retail. All in all, I would highly recommend Dr. Spendals office to any of my friends and family. He and his staff were professional, patient, understanding, compassionate, and accommodating. I hope I never have to have oral surgery again, but if I ever do, I know where to go!

Dishonest billing practices. Dont think they tell the truth of what services will cost. I called 2 times to get the cost for my procedure. They did not get it too me until the day I showed up for the procedure. That is ok. Maybe they were too busy to get the price in the week before day of the procedure. Them the day of the procedure the office person comes or the operating room and has a list of my cost with what I need to pay. All good. They went out to the waiting room and my wife paid. The procedure was done. Then 3 weeks later I get a bill from them that I owe more money. I called and said I dont get it. I did everything right. I ask for my cost for the procedure. You gave me the price. I paid that day. Now you want more. They told me the price and now 3 weeks later you want more. Give me a break. If I take my car in and get it fixed and then the shop calls me 3 weeks later after I have picked up the car and say I need to pay more. I recommend you go to some where else and do not let them screw you.

Purely AWESOME! My daughter was in severe pain from her wisdom teeth. Her regular dentist wouldnt see her 2 weeks. I reached out to Hillsboro Oral and Maxillofacial (Livia) and explained the situation. They were able to get her in right away. The staff is very professional and friendly. They made you feel welcomed. They explained everything to both of us as to what they were going to do. After the procedure was done, Dr. Spindle called later that night to check on my daughter to see how she was doing. A week out we had a follow up. Same courtesy from ALL THE STAFF. You cant get treatment like this anywhere. This is the place you want to be. Thanks again to all the staff. You folks ROCK!

My 11 year old daughter had 6 teeth removed. The office staff was very nice and gentle with her as she was very scared. We had already tried another dentist and she was having no part of it. when we arrived at the office we were greeted with a smile and very soft, loving staff. We then met with Dr. Spendal and having three little ones of his own, knew exactly how to handle my very terrified daughter. She healed very well and now she has her braces on.
