This is easily the least organized health care provider I have ever encountered. Expect long waits on the phone and in person, impersonal doctors, and disorganized scheduling. The nurses, however, are the only competent folks here. If you MUST go to Concentra use the Swan Island location on Anchor Way. They also have long in person waits for your first appointment but they are professional and dont have the dismissive reception staff that the Airport location does. An example of the kind of terrible, one star service that you can expect at the Airport Concentra: -Get ready to feel like your time or health issue are not important - Long waits on the phone with an obnoxious hold message that repeats the same two facts -A different receptionist will pick up the call every 3 minutes with no awareness that you have already spoken to multiple receptionists, ask you why you are calling, and then put you back on hold to repeat the process. Last time I was on hold for 9 minutes before I got help. -Dismissive doctors with the bedside manner of a charging rhino Here is a how my last experience with Concetra Airport went: *I called (insert 5-10 minutes on hold) to reschedule an appointment a few days ahead and was told that I had to call the morning of the appointment when they open at 7:00 AM. * I did (insert another 5-10 minutes on hold) and was told that the ONE person who could reschedule was not in yet- he would call me. *I missed his call. I called back (insert another 5-10 minutes on hold). Got through- he was on lunch. Please call back in 30min. *I called back (spent some quality time on hold) and rescheduled. *Vowed never to deal with this terrible office again. Why can only one person change the time of an appointment? And why on earth do they make it so difficult to do something so simple? If reading this review makes you feel tired and annoyed just imagine what it will be like to do in person! Go anywhere else! Zoomcare for urgent care and if you must, must go to Concentra make it the Swan Island location.

My experience was very different than others whove posted here. First thing to understand, this is an urgent care facility which also provides occupational health services. For anyone who thinks visiting an urgent care is going to be a quick visit...well a little patience goes a long way. I had a 1:15p appointment for a UA and physical as part of my USCG Merchant Marine cert. I drove all the way from near Eugene, OR. When I arrived, there were already about ten people in the waiting room. I filled out the paperwork when I checked in and noticed that front desk workers were both triple or quadruple tasking. The nice woman who helped me had a corded phone in one ear, a wireless phone bud in her other ear, was working on the computer, and talking to me all at the same time, kudos to her for keeping it all going. They called me in about 15 minutes after my appointment time. I found the nurse (Rosa I think her name was) was wonderful. We had a nice chat. She was friendly, courteous and professional. After the UA and eye test, she placed me in a room to do my BP and visit with the doctor who would perform the physical. On the way to that room I noticed how full the rooms were with a lot of folks waiting. I waited a good half hour for him to show up and I could tell hes the type of guy whose day runs by so quickly that he must feel like he blinks and his day is done. We had a couple of good laughs about stressful jobs and he was very kind, professional and caring. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone needing occupational health services, but take my advice, plan at least a few hours and practice some patience-bring a book or your favorite electronic device. Our health care industry workers are absolutely overwhelmed by the shear numbers. Just visit any ER (as Ive had to for two aging parents in recent years) or urgent care.

This is not about Concentra, as a whole know that you cannot expect or anticipate timeliness, respect, or professionalism. This is about Dr. James Barger. He is shockingly rude and unprofessional without any "bedside manner" to speak of. After waiting for an hour to be seen, he popped into my patient room and spent all of 20 seconds in there. He asked me one brief question, made a decision. He did not allow for any further questions or exchange. After 10 more minutes of waiting and wondering what was happening, I opened the door to ask the nurse to send my doctor in. He passed by 5 seconds later and fully intended to ignore the nurse. Had I not gotten his attention on my own, he would have chosen to not have any follow up with me. I confronted him and explained my needs which were inherently simple and well within his power to provide. All he said was, "Im sorry, you need to seek another professional." I immediately responded in shock and said, "But youre not sorry." He shrugged and left the room. Meanwhile, Im in tears from pain and frustration. Im aware that Concentra is not a care facility, but a business earning all of its income from workers Comp claims. No matter what, a medical professional should never treat a patient in this manner. Im pursuing this through the correct avenues, but felt the need to also put the word out. If you get "Dr." James Barger as your attending physician immediately request another doctor, that is your RIGHT as a patient. As is choosing where you receive care. Do your research, and find out exactly where you can go to receive the treatment you need from qualified professionals. You will not find them at Concentra.

With so many negative reviews I felt compelled to offer my perspective. I am mandated by my employer to use this clinic, and have been coming at least once, but usually twice a year for the past 3 years. Of course I want to walk in and be seen immediately, but this is a busy clinic that sees most of its clientele on a walk-in basis. This must make it difficult to always have an ideal number of providers--some days must be slow, too. Also, there seems to be a lot going on with other patients that I am not aware of that keeps the providers busy (no one was sitting around drinking coffee). So, yes, I was told it would be a 30 minute wait for a simple test, and I waited an hour, but I have figured out that if I have to come to this clinic because my employer says I do, then I budget my time to allow at least 2 hours to deal with whatever issue I have. The front desk staff has always been helpful and courteous. The medical assistants have always been pleasant and helpful. The clinic goes out of its way to make sure there is a nice beverage station, and when the waiting room is full (we know it will not be a 30 minute wait for anyone) the staff have offered snacks and additional cold beverages. It seems that the staff and providers are making a genuine effort to ease the pain of having to be in a situation that is not anyones idea of a good time.

I had an appointment with Dr. Drumm, DO this morning. He was extremely rude. This was the most embarrassing and degrading experience I have dealt with. I came in for a follow up appointment to have some blood work done as part of a physical exam. Without reason or explanation, Dr. Drumm refused to see me, and actually showed me the way out. I had gone to the Lake Oswego clinic last year, and had blood work done. They were great. I was told at that time to have a follow up done in approximately a year. I had set the appointment up well in advance. The Dr. walked in, and addressed me rudely. He then asked me why I was here to see him. I gave him the explanation, and he said that at my last appointment I was charged incorrectly, and stated this to me as if it was my fault and I stole. He then said "we wont be seeing you here today. Let me show you the way out." He then walked me out. I was humiliated. I am a person of color, and strongly believe this was discrimination.
