I highly recommend Fremont Vet. Hospital to anyone that has a dog or pet, they probably see horses, birds and alike but one word for this clinic - beyond measure. I have known this clinic on a client basis throughout the last 15 years, with all my three border collies. They are in excellent shape and health because of all the honest care and attention that they receive at Fremont Vet Clinic. We all have our preference, and I have met them all but my husband and I request consistently Dr. Wendy Johnson. Dr. Wendy Johnson has taken care of my first border collie, Cactus from the beginning to the end and she takes such good and attentive care to this extraordinary border collie. At the final stage of Cactuss death, I was really amazed (and I truly mean AMAZED) how the vet techs were supportive of these howling and crying human beings that were brought through the back door for her final shot and let us stay with her until her last shot was given for her last breath. Pay attention here, Dr. Johnson, unfortunately was not there that day, but all the doctors that have periodically have seen through the years, came by very gently through the exam room to say goodbye to her.. does it get any better than that. If I had to comment on the office staff and vet techs, they are always polite, caring, organized and accomodating. If there is an emergency, they are there to help, as are the physicians. To the present, I have two other bc dogs, and as you know, once you fiind a good thing we stay with that treasure. I have complete confidence in the Fremont Vet. Clinic and I have referred them numerous times to the dog owners in the northeast portland neighborhood and especially Wilshire Park and the surrounding parks.

My family and I have brought dogs here since the 1980s. Every Fremont vet weve seen has been knowledgeable, caring, and helpful. The support staff goes above and beyond my expectations, as well. My current dog has behavior issues and everyone at the clinic has done a great job of helping me help her have a better, healthier life and making sure everyone (they, me, my pup, and anyone in the waiting room) has a safe, good experience, all without perpetuating any of the guilt you often have as the owner of a difficult dog. (Special thanks to Dan- without him, Lulus nails would be 4 inches long and my hands riddled with bites!) While I can certainly understand finding a particular vet here that you want to see exclusively, if their calendar is booked up, Id totally recommend seeing any of the doctors. All of the doctors Ive seen here have been very knowledgeable and each have their own interests and experiences that can help you form a complete picture of options and solutions for your pet. They are a busy clinic, and sometimes get walk-in emergencies, so Ive found its best to schedule as ahead of time as you can. If your appointment is later in the day, things may be running a little late, as well. But I have always felt comfortable asking questions and being given the time to do so.

I found a beautiful, rambunctious pup wandering the streets late at night. Shed chewed off her leash. I posted on Craigslist, took her in for the night and brought her to Fremont Vet Clinic to check for a microchip. Nothing. They offered to take her in for a few days due to my weariness, but theyd call Multnomah County Animal Services if no one came looking. I accepted with relief, but gave them my phone number in case the owner didnt come- my roommate had expressed interest in keeping her if need be. I even took a card so if the owner contacted me, Id have everything. Within two hours, the owner did contact me. I passed along all the clinics information, just for him to respond shortly that she was already with Animal Services in Troutdale! The owner had to drive out and pay a $95 fee. I understood that a vet clinic is not a shelter before I walked in. I expected to go through some difficulty should no microchip be found. But for them to offer shelter, lie about the time period and then completely disregard my request to be contacted?

I just got my dog from my boyfriends family because they were no longer able to give him the attention he needed. He has an obsession with his ball and hurt his toenail chasing after it in the yard. Chevy is a ten year old pit bull and I am still getting to know him, so I was not sure how he would do at the vet. I called to make an appointment and Grant was so nice on the phone and even spoke to me about Chevy after my appointment! They were able to get me in the same day and Dr. Roberts was phenomenal. She was so nice, professional, calm, and understanding about my dogs health and behavior issues. All the assistants and the front desk staff were amazing as well. I believe the assistant that helped us was Kim and she was so sweet with my dog even though he was super grumpy. I have to say it was the best experience Ive had at a veterinary clinic. Im glad I found my new vet!

When Buddy passed away, I was an emotional wreck. I had fairly good experiences with Fremont up to that point. I called in to see about cremation services. They had me bring him through the back door, through the employee smoking area, into the employee locker room and hand him over onto a stainless steel rolling table. It was horrible. On the way out the door, one of the Techs said, "Dont worry, well take good care of him." They charged me a hundred and eighty dollars for this! Later when I had Happy cremated, I took him to the facility myself and was shocked that they only charged eighty five. Fremont took a hundred percent mark up. I have often thought of writing a letter, but it was just too hard to relive the pain.

I will begin by stating that some of the doctors are truly top notch, but the front desk staff is rude and unprofessional. Bruce and Sue of this clinic are so nasty that I am going to take my business elsewhere. Bruces condescending demeanor and Sues "white trash Barbie" persona have no place in an industry such as an animal health clinic that requires sensitivity and attentive care to pets as well their owners. There are a lot of clinics in Portland, and we are no longer utilizing your organization as our veterinary clinic of choice because of these two rotten employees.

Fremont has cared for our dog and cat for the past four years. Our old dog suffered from heart troubles, and I cannot say enough good things about the respect and care that both the animals got and we, as a family, got. Our decisions were respected and Dr. White pulled no punches and was clear in explaining options to us and respecting our decisions. Our last interaction with them was to sadly end the life of our suffering dog. We were treated with the utmost care and kindness. We will be back with a new pet at some point in the future, after our hearts heal.

They paralyzed my dog when in surgery . I understand this happens. He was an older dog and know that some times this is life. However for them refusing to say Im sorry is just wrong. All I asked for was a simple Im really sorry I was removing a tooth that was missed the first time and we rolled him wrong and separated his spine. But nope, they wouldnt. All they would say is you signed the content form and new this was a possibility .
