This was the best experience Ive ever had at a primary care physicians office. Im a new patient at DMHC Medical Pavilion. I chose Dr. Toni Muzzonigro as my PCP and drove from Philadelphia, because Ive had a terrible time finding PCPs in my area I trust and who even seem to care. The front desk staff was so helpful when I called for the first time, with brand-new health insurance and a lack of understanding of how it worked. They scheduled me within a week and a half of calling (I had nothing urgent). They were considerate and professional upon my arrival today. One helped me over the phone to find the place when Id made a wrong turn (Im not from the area). My wait-time to be called back to the exam room was about a minute. I met a medical assistant named Dana (I hope Im spelling her name correctly) who was warm, put me at ease, and repeatedly asked if I had any questions and assured me I could contact her or the doctor at any time after my visit. I waited then for Dr. Muzzonigro for about a minute. She was warm and had incredible bedside manner. She did not rush me or chide me for all of my natural approaches to healthcare as most of my former doctors have. Shed say "Sweet" when I told her herbal or alternative remedies Id tried. She admitted theyre not her specialty but, unlike every other PCP Ive had, did not frown on them or shame me for using them. Frankly I was shocked. And she really listened! She did not rush me. When I told her about my weight concerns, she told me I was beautiful and looked great. She spoke of society brainwashing women about what our bodies should look like--all of which I know, but it felt wonderful hearing it from her. She explained why perhaps one medication might be better for me than another. She asked a lot of questions. She ordered blood work to check for vitamin deficiencies (how many PCPs do that?). Dana drew my blood. She was perfect at it. I felt a pinch and nothing more, and there is no bruise or marks other than a tiny red dot. I think this was the first time I left my PCPs office with a skip in my step and feeling happier than when Id gone in. Im thrilled Ive found this place. We need more doctors like Dr. Muzzonigro and more medical staff like Dana and the receptionists and front desk staff at DHMC Health Pavilion.

Due to unforeseen circumstances I was unable to make my appointment. I called to rescheduled and was told that I couldnt be seen by the office EVER. The receptionist said the "system" automatically blocks you. Ive been in the medical field for over 10 years working in both private practice and hospitals. I have NEVER ever heard of a patient being refused service. The system has nothing to do with it that is the providers preference solely. Ive heard of a a patient not being seen after several missed appointments but only one no. Im very happy to see the operations of this establishment and will kindly find another provider. To think that I was referred to come to location and be treated in such a way is unbelievable.
