If you just LOVE playing the WAITING GAME to the point where it is dangerous to your DETERIORATING CONDITION, choose Springfield Hospital ER! My boyfriend checked into Springfield Hospital because he had an adverse reaction to an antibiotic (perscribed for a UTI). During this adverse reaction, my boyfriend exhibited nausea, fatigue, and severe acid reflux (encompassed with chest pain). This took place AS SOON as he took the pill. He had issues with the same antibiotic in the past. He also has a medical history of having a sensitive stomache. The ER waiting room was completely empty, there was no receptionist. It looked like a ghost town and it was only 10:30pm. Visiting hours were over, sure, but not ER hours (Springfields ER is open 24hr). So, my boyfriend had to wait in agony for a couple of minutes to even be checked in. Luckily, he was already in the system, so it saved us time on getting seen by a medical professional. I can only imagine how much longer we would have had to have waited if that were not the case. The nurses were great, friendly, and willing to help in getting whatever they could for you. Two nurses assessed him and asked him what the problem was, and seemed interested in helping. One older male nurse was especially friendly, kind, and overall awesome. The doctors, on the other hand, were NOT good listeners. They were fixated on being correct and covering themselves legally. My boyfriend came to the ER simply because he had an adverse reaction to an antibiotic. However, because of the chest pain and extreme acid reflux that my boyfriend was exhibiting, they took a chest x-ray, EKG, and took blood to test his troponin levels. Everything came back normal, except for the troponin levels which were BORDERLINE. Because of that, the doctors tried to convince us that my boyfriend had a STROKE and they wished to observe him. If the doctors were listening, theyd know my boyfriend had chest pain because of the severe acid reflux the antibiotic had given him. BAD LISTENERS. The ER doctors ended up making us STAY over night so they could monitor my boyfriends blood levels since he had so called "stroke." Is no one listening? One ear, out the other. He had an ADVERSE REACTION TO AN ANTIBIOTIC, not a stroke! I understand that medical professionals have to be safer than sorry, but this was overkill. My boyfriend exhibited no other symptoms for a stroke, I know this because I am training to be a health professional myself. Once we moved from the ER to the regular hospital, you could obviously tell the ER doctors did not tell the nurses ANYTHING and the nurses were trying to tell us that my boyfriends blood levels were high, from a test they did in the ER. Yes, we KNOW. Thats why were HERE. The staff overall was slow to action, slow to giving any sort of perscription or medications to help remedy my boyfriends pain. We checked in at 10:30pm and he did not get any IVs or medications until 11:30pm, an HOUR later. He was in extreme pain the entire time and practically was begging for them. Horrible experience. NEVER AGAIN! Spreading the word about how horrible the ER is.

WORST Hospital ever been in. I was admitted on Dec 30 2015. In severe pain. There is basically NO Pain management system on board. Its up to each nurse you get and their thoughts on narcotics. I was there for 4 days and had different pain care with each shift, There was also no Supervisors available as it was a Holiday and so the Critical Care Unit I was in was run by 20 year old Nurses right out of school. I was left alone in a room by myself down a dark hallway New Years Day as They discharged most of the other people. At 3:30 am I was woken by someone outside of my room who would not ID themselves. He came into my room as I went to see who was there. It was a tall man who refused to identify himself. He yelled at me to go back to bed. I was in fear of my life. I ran to the Head Desk where he was . He was a Nurse on the Floor and again refused to give me his name only to mock and laugh at me and tell me to o back to bed. His co workers also would not give up his name . I will be contacting an attorney after the weekend. This Hospital may soon have a New name, with ME as the Owner. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!

MY Husband went to the ER complaining of leg pains severe.. The Physician said nothing could really be done about it, so did the RESIDENT and nurse. No blood pressure was taken, no temperature, and no pulse. My husband and I thought this STRANGE for an ER. Also, no diagnostic testing was done such as an Cray, cat scan, ekg, MRI. Why? Well we feel the hospital staff is not too smart. My husband passed on the next day. An autopsy is in the process right now. If you USE THIS HOSPITAL PLEASE DEMAND TESTING YOUR LIFE MAY DEPEND ON IT........THE AUTOPSY REVEALED HEART PROBLEMS. ONE SYMPTOM OF HEART FAILURE IS FOOT AND LEG PAIN. MY HUSBAND WAS NOT CHECKED FOR ANY HEART RELATED CONDITION.........ONLY MUSCULOSKELETAL. PLEASE KNOW THAT FOOT AND LEG PAIN MAY BE AN INDICATOR OF HEART FAILURE OR INSUFFICIENTLY. THE EMERGENCY ROOM DOCTORS SHOULD HAVE CHECKED. I SUGGEST BRYN MAWR HOSPITAL. MORE THOROUGH.

I had an appendectomy there. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I arrived in the ER in the afternoon in extreme pain and was admitted but the surgeon didnt show up until the next day to see me. He decided not to use a scope and did an open surgery instead--without any explanation, even later when I asked him why. The scar was extremely long and was at the midline, not where it should have been. When I showed my family doctor later she asked why the incision was where it was. I had no idea. Nursing care was horrible. The nursing staff refused to provide me with my antidepressant medication the entire time post-surgery. They refused to contact a staff psychiatrist to provide them and refused to contact my own psychiatrist. Mean, nasty and rude nursing staff. The one positive was that the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit staff were excellent. But I only was conscious about hour while I was at the PACU.

40 year old male diabetic, stomach pain and rt arm pain told symptoms to dr george, his response was never heard of it, saying how long hes been a treating physican. there was no one at the desk, no one where you sign in, i arrived at 8;24 and left at 10;30 at that point still no treatment. it was like a ghost town, he went there as they always had good treatment with their children, his non treatment was a disgrace. they were there before i arrived, they didnt even put his wrist ban on, i intend to call and make a complaint on monday.

Do not go to this ER if you can help it. If you do have the misfortune of being stuck in this ER, prepare to be insulted by their rude, incompetent nurses and to undergo blatantly irrelevant X-rays and tests because they want to make as much $$ as possible from your insurance while your are there. Seriously. This place is a complete joke. Save yourself the time, money, and trouble and go to a real emergency room at a different hospital.
