So right before it was time for school my son had something in his eye that was hurting him. So after him being totally unreasonable for 25 mins and not letting me even look at it, I packed him in the car and took him down to Urgent Care at the St. Joes Strausstown location. Everything went fine as far as getting him in, as I mentioned to the reception person when we arrived that I had a dentist appointment this morning at 10:45 that I could not miss. "Sure no problem" they said. So after the exam the Physicians Assistant, says yes there is an abrasion you need to take him to the eye doctor. I said "ok, when?" she said "now". I said " Now? Im sorry but I have a dentist appointment for a broke molar that has been causing me agonizing pain for a week" Then she says to me "If you dont take him now, I will consider that child neglect" "Now wait a minute! I have a child with Crohns that I have at the doctor just about every single week multiple times a week, and I was simply asking if I could take him to the eye doc after my dentist appointment, the last thing I am is a neglectful parent, if I was I wouldnt be in the Urgent Care right now!" Then she said in front of my 7 year old, (mind you) "Well, if the only appointment with our eye doctor I can get you is right now then you need to go or he could loose his sight". Yes, she said that in front of my 7 year old! which scared him terribly! Then she says, "well, do you have an eye doctor?" and I said " yes, my older son has Crohns, he needs to see the eye doctor every 6 months" she said "well would you like to try to make an appointment with them?" and I said yes. Long story short, my eye doc wasnt in today and she got me an appointment at 2:15 with their eye doc. Which, I took him to. We are also going to work with the school to make sure he gets his drops at school and also follow up with the eye doctor again on Friday (because Im such a neglectful parent). The Physicians Assistant took things to a level that was completely unnecessary, insensitive and uncalled for! All I was trying to do was figure out how to accommodate all of our appointments for that day, not to mention that if I wouldve cancelled my appointment at the dentist office without 24 hour notice they would have charged me a missed appointment fee. I literally stay home with my children, so I can be my son with Crohns soul care provider for all of his special needs, and the only reason I need to get my tooth taken care of is so I can better care for my children, because of the nagging headaches and tooth pain. She has a lot of nerve! Furious does not even begin to describe how upset I was when I left the Strausstown Urgent Care office today. If it wasnt for the fact that I like my family doctor so much at that facility I would never step foot in that office again. I remember when I first saw this office opening, we were so excited to have this facility in our community, but with experiences like this Im beginning to wonder if we got so fortunate. I think this particular Physicans Assistant needs a course on how to be a little more sensitive to families and not just assume the worst of a very busy, and already flustered parent who is doing their very best to juggle a lot of medical issues in their family.

I took my Grandson there cause he had a cold for 3 weeks and couldnt seem to kick it .. PA and Receptionist were very nice and helpful just wish I could say the same about the Physican... We waited about 45 minutes and were taken back and the Doctor came in asked what the symptoms were was very rude did a three minute check up and seemed to care less of what we were saying and left !! He was diagnosed according to the paper work as having a Upper Respitory Infection and was given nothing but go to your Physician if it gets worse ... Total waste of time and money ... Soo disappointed from what used to be a good place but after some changes not any more !!

I went to St. Josephs yesterday because I had sinus and respiratory issues that were getting worse each day. (coughing, hearing loss, ear ache, sinus pain & congestion, chills). I was a first time patient. We are new to the area and do not have a primary care physician in Pa. The staff was very friendly and competent. Their facility was clean and modern. The check-in processing, the nurse and the physicians aid that treated me were great. I received a thorough exam, diagnosis of what was going on and a prescription for anti-biotic that is already making me feel much better. We will definitely come again and recommend their services to our friends.

Sit and wait forever for urgent care. I hope the care u need isnt urgent because u may be dead before seeing a doctor. My 3yos bottom teeth went through his lip and bleeding from his face and they made sure they got paid with insurance cards and all that before sitting in waiting room for 40 minutes before a PA could see him. Way to go team, way to go. Now a day later were sitting here again same problem wound opened back up, but now its been an hour and half so far in waiting room, just look how many poeple in the seats....

I will think twice before I go to this urgent care. Waited an hour and a half, doctor told my granddaughter nothing was wrong. Her throat was swollen you could see it just by looking at her neck, it hurt so much when she swallowed, that she was in tears. Had to take take her to her family doctor, she had strep throat. According to the urgent care dr nothing was wrong. She had to miss school because according to the dr. there was nothing wrong. This is why people go to the emergency room.

I had called them to see if they accepted my insurance and they had told me that they did but my mom had told me they never said that they didnt accept my sisters insurance and continued anyway and then charged them so i had called my insurance company just to be safe and found out that they are not covered by my insurance so i do believe that you need to get your employees proper training on how to find out if insurance is accepted or not at your place of business.

Went there because I had a sinus infection and wanted anti biotic. They saw me and said I had to have it for more than two weeks to be prescribed with antibiotic. I went to other doctors for the same thing and they always prescribed it to me right there and told me to get biotic right away when I get the symptom. Who tells someone they have to be sick for two weeks till they get treated??? I will never come back

My husband hand sustained a severe laceration of his thumb. Dr. Hermany and everyone there took time with him, reviewed his medical history with him, treated and bandaged the wound, ordered an antibiotic when he left he knew he was in the best hands he could have asked to have look after him. Thank you all so much. I am happy to post this publicly. We appreciate the high level of fate Mrs. R. Webb
