Id been searching for a surgeon to do my second hip replacement for over a year. Since moving to Nashville a year ago, I hadnt found anyone I felt comfortable with, that treated me like an equal and listened and answered all my questions. So Id gone back to St. Louis for my first hip replacement to the surgeon Id known for 25 years. But I needed a doctor I trusted here. Dr. Morrison and Southern Joint Replacement Institute had been recommended to me 3 times. One of those recommendations actually came from an orthopod at Vanderbilt!! I had many, many questions and Dr. Morrison treated me as an equal and someone deserving of his respect. He allowed me to watch over his shoulder as he inserted the various parts of a hip prosthesis into my x ray. The computer program was impressive. That he would explain to me why he was making the choices that he did so that I would have the best possible outcome impressed me no end and made me feel relieved that Id finally found a doctor who made me feel as my surgeon of 25 yrs had made me feel...that no one was more important than I was while I was with him. Thats the kind of doctor Id been looking for and Im so glad I found him. And I have to give all of his staff A+ for their attentiveness and care during my visit. They have also been easy to communicate with using their health portal and in returning my calls promptly. I cant say that Im happy to have to have a second hip replacement, but I feel a lot more sure that Ive found the right people to take care of me.

More than 20 years ago our primary care physician referred my husband to Dr. Michael Christie for a knee replacement. I am happy to report that the knee replacement has been very satisfactory and no problems which is amazing considering how long it has been. When it became apparent in 2009 that I would need a hip replacement there was not a question of where I would go or who I would have to do the surgery. Dr. Christie was the obvious choice and I have been extremely please with the results. The staff at SJRI is excellent..from the front desk throughout the entire organization. I have found all to be friendly, courteous and put you at ease no matter the circumstances. The physical therapy department is very competent, caring and compassionate (which one needs sometimes during the treatments). I have all the confidence in Dr. Christie and his nurse practitioner, Martha Brinson, so much so that if they were to tell me that the sun now comes up in the west.... I would believe them. I do not know the other physicians there but if Dr. Christie hired them then I would be comfortable seeing any of them. One last thing,...appointment times are kept in a timely manner and in todays busy world that is a plus in my book.

I have had two total knee replacements with Dr. Jeffrey Hodrick as the surgeon. I am very pleased with the results. I wish I had done it earlier. I am enjoying walking and climbing with no pain. I chose to have them done separately, almost a year apart, which I thought was best for my body. I was more than 50% better with just the one done; now that both surgeries are completed, i am so enjoying traveling and being able to walk and climb stairs with no pain. I did exactly what the doctor told me to do; I had very little pain, and no complications. While one can walk and climb fairly comfortably pretty soon after the surgery, there is still some pain at the skin level when applying pressure (as lying in a fetal position etc) but this goes away after a while. I am very glad I had these two surgeries , and glad I chose a doctor from Southern joint Replacement.

I learned about SJRI and Dr. David DeBoer when I drove my brother to this facility for his pre-op day. I had been seeing another orthopaedic physican for possible knee replacement surgery for the past 19 months. My problems were due to an injury 44 years ago and my knee had pretty much given out. When I attended this educational pre-op day, I was sold on SJRI and Dr. DeBoer and called the following week for an appointment. I had my surgery in July and am still in.therapy and recovery. My surgery and recovery were not without some complications that I expected due to the old injury. I am 100% confident that I made the right decision to change to SJRI and Dr. DeBoer. I am not only impressed with Dr. DeBoer but each and every member of the staff of SJRI. After each visit you get the feeling that they truly care about you.

I can t praise Dr. David K DeBoer and all of his medical and office staff enough for their excellent service and care during my two night stay in hospital for Bi-Lateral Knee Surgery This is the most professional, experienced, and competent medical team anywhere in the world. I live two hours away in Kentucky and this team cant be beat. I did physical therapy for only 4 weeks and the therapists were amazed with how thin my incisions were and how fast I completed my therapy. I know of four others who have had the same great outcome with their knee surgery in the last 3 years. My name is Lydia and I am 70 years old. My surgery was Jan. 31, 2017 (5 months ago) and I have full motion, no pain and doing everything I want to do. Thank you to this great team!!!!!!!!!!!! Lydia

Excellent. When I came to Dr. Curry I had little idea what I truly needed. I only knew that my hip was killing me. I had seen several other doctors and had some information but not much. I thought I knew more than I did. I also researched online and learned nothing. When someone referred me to Southern Joint Replacement I got well educated. I followed my gut and listened to what each professional in their office told me about my condition. What they said would happen did happen. They were honest, conservative and INFORMATIVE. In the end I decided to get a full hip replacement performed by Dr. T. Scott Curry. I had my surgery at TriStar Centennial Hospital which was outstanding as well. Im 4 days out. I will write more after my recovery is complete.

So far, great experience! I have surgery scheduled a couple of months out, which will be the real test, but after getting a second opinion elsewhere, I came back to Dr Morrison due his professionalism and demeanor, not to mention all the great reviews I found online. Super nice guy, very polite, explained everything in great detail, and made sure I understood everything. On my second visit, I put him through a rigorous grilling about the method of hip replacement he uses, his experience, etc., and he gave me his full attention and answered every question and quelled every fear I had! His staff is fantastic, too, and everyone I encountered there is super friendly and courteous. Overall, great experience so far! Ill update after the surgery.

Let me tell you Ive seen many doctors and a few Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Otto and his staff is by far the best. In this day and age its all about the dollar many have forgotten the bed side manners, well not so with this bunch. I enjoyed my interactions with every staff member and especially Dr. Otto. Now my surgery had to be postponed due to other health issues and although I was throughly disappointed I respected his decision and was grateful for his caring about my overall health. So many Doctors could learn from this bunch. Love you all and cant wait to see you all again , and you best believe Im singing your praises to anyone that will listen.
