I am writing this review from my room at StoneCrest. I have been here since Wednesday night after coming in for a scheduled induction. The labor and delivery room that I made home until Thursday night was nice. It was very big, with enough space that many family members were allowed to come in and visit without feeling crowded. Due to a very long labor, at some point my support team was even sleeping on a mattress provided for them, and a pull out couch. The pull out couch was not that comfortable from what I was told, but its not made to be slept on for long anyway. I was assigned two nurses due to coming in near a shift change. Both of them were nice and attentive, helping me and answering any questions I had. My first nurse was careful with the IV even though it had to be done twice because I have difficult veins. She made me feel at home right away and answered any questions I had about how the hospital did their procedures and what to expect. My second nurse, who I spent the most time seeing, was amazing. She was funny and willing to chat with us which made everyone more comfortable with seeing her throughout the day. The anesthesiologist was amazing. He came and visited me early on to talk about my requested epidural and warned me about waiting too long but supported my decision to wait for awhile. When the time came that I did want the epidural, he was very quick and incredibly nice. He explained everything to me as he did it so I was aware of exactly what he was doing. With my first child, the epidural didnt work due to the doctor missing where he needed to be and not asking me any questions. This time it worked! I was so happy that if I could have felt my legs I might have walked across the floor and hugged him. Dr. Fox delivered my baby. I had been seeing him since the beginning so it was nice to stay with the same doctor. Both the doctor and the nurses were willing to stick with my "quiet birthing room" plan without an issue. For women who worry about not knowing how to push, the nurse explained it in great detail even though this was my second child. When I was moved to an overnight room, the accommodations went a little down hill but at the end of the day its a hospital, not a hotel. Theres a small TV with very little to watch. However, you can stream Netflix on your laptop and order any meal you want at any time of day. The nursery is very helpful, and the nurses are as well. I havent had to wait long for anything, and they have all made sure that I am well taken care of. I feel as if I am the only patient they have, and I know that I am not. I cant speak for the ER, or any other services for this hospital but I highly recommend having your child here. Its quiet, close to food, shops, and hotels, and the staff is simply amazing!

October 3, 2016 - I had a very bad experience with food service today at StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna, TN. The food service supervisor, Tameka Graves, was very nasty towards me. I was on a liquid diet for two days, was not even allowed two of those liquid meals because of tests I had to take. I was finally allowed solid foods this afternoon - no food restrictions. Now that I can eat, I am hungry to say the least. When I wanted to order one extra solid food item I was not allowed to do so. I called the kitchen and spoke to Tameka Graves and she told me that I couldnt add anything beyond one entrée, two sides, one dessert and one drink. I just wanted one extra food item - some cookies or I thought maybe some roasted chicken. IM HUNGRY!!!!!!!!! She didnt care and said they had their way of doing things. I said I thought I was paying for my food, why cant I have it? I even have good insurance. Is it that hard to get some cookies around here? I said I was at St. Thomas Midtown and they gave me whatever I asked for and was very very nice about it. I just want one extra thing from the kitchen of StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna, TN and that was impossible. I cant believe I cant get some darn cookies from the hospital that me and my insurance are paying so much money to. Never would have thought a couple of cookies or an extra helping of one food item would make me dislike a place so much. Im paying to stay here and should get what I want. Such an insensitive hospital!

If I could Id give this place zero stars. My boyfriend had been lightheaded, dizzy, vomiting for 7 days prior to our visit. He actually went to Murfreesboro hospital first but that was useless. So Saturday morning around 3am he wakes me up shivering and freezing. He yet again puked. So I decided to take him to Stonecrest hoping they could do something for him. Ha what a waste of time and gas. We get there and they immediately took him back because he was having a hard time breathing and had some chest pains. The triage nurse stands there while doing the EKG and had the nerve to say "oh people your age with these symptoms its usually do to cocaine or meth." I really wanted to punch her in the mouth at that point. Yes, my boyfriend is covered in tattoos but that does not mean he is a drug addict. She had absolutely not right to profile or judge him like that. So we get back they take blood then later a urine sample to "check his kidneys". An hour later we see the doctor who also suggests drug use as the issue. Told us he was going to check the results. About an hour & a half later they come back to say nothing is wrong and discharged him. He went to an actual doctor today and come to find he has a double inner ear infection. So instead of assuming drug use right of the bat they could have easily done their job and checked his ears to find the problem. Never will I go or take anyone to this place again.

Went in this morning with a suspected Kidney Stone. Although they were extremely busy - I was helped by the Triage staff where my history and symptoms were taken and entered into the computer. I waited for a while in the waiting room for a place for them to put me. They found a spot in the hall - where they took more information - took blood and put in an IV port. I waited for a while - several people checked on me to be sure I was ok. I said I was - didnt even ask nor accept a shot for pain - I was past the pain at this point just needed to be diagnosed. A new nurse arrived -walked up and said hello I am your nurse. I said hi and she said she needed to take my history??? I asked her why - wasnt it all ready in the computer system since I answered all these questions before and watched them enter the information. This new nurse did not have a lap top or even a piece of paper to write my "history" down - I questioned her on why I was being questioned again - her only response was well I just came on shift. I frankly do not understand why another history was required and if it was truly a patient history - why she took no information down. I became very frustrated at the line of questioning. How often did I drink alcohol?? what in hell did that have to do with a possible kidney stone.. I asked her to remove the IV and I left.
