Horrible! The absolute worst treatment at any hospital emergency room visit I have ever been to. I moved here to Winchester, TN this past July of 2016. In October I brought my daughter to the ER for a suspected broken toe. The sign in process consisted of writing my daughters name and suspected ailment.. They didnt ask who I was in relationship to her and never even asked my name. During triage still no confirmation as to who I was and if I had any legal right to obtain medical attention for her. They did not provide any help to transport her back to the ER. I had to serve has her crutch as she hopped down the emergency room hallways. The RN came in next and she was rude and condesending as she spoke with me. After the short Dr. visitation came the radiologist, I was relieved to see that he brought a wheelchair to take her to the xray dept. My relief lasted for a second after I was forced to pick her up out of her bed and serve as her crutch to the wheelchair. Then as he was wheeling her I almost couldnt believe my eyes when I noticed he didnt even put the foot rests up on the chair to rest her foot on. In the x-ray room I asked to be told when I should leave the room as not to be exposed to radiation which is standard procedure for when any x-ray is taken for those not to receive one. As he positioned my daughter on the table he automatically assumed she was flexible and stated "you are a girl, so you are flexible" as he attempted to force her leg in a stretched out position. My daughter is absolutely no where near what I would call a limber child. In fact she cannot even bend over and touch her toes. He then went back behind the wall to take the x-ray and took TWO of them without having me leave the room. He didnt even put a lead vest on my daughter. Had to help her back into the chair and then she was wheeled back with no foot rest back to her bed. I was the crutch agian. Then the DR. came in with the news she had a broken toe. He then asked us to come back to look at it. I was her crutches. Then back to the bed again. The RN came back into the room and started her discharge instruction by first telling us that she would be given a walking boot to help to ambulate around the house and when back at school. Immediately I had concerns because of the nature of my daughter having disabilities that interfere with her ability to keep her body stable I was concerned that if the boot was a different shape and height on one foot as opposed to her shoe that she would wear on her other that would she would be put off balance and would potentially increase the likelihood of further injuries. I was looked at as though I was crazy. I kept on explaining how she has a diagnosis of low tone and the wearing of two different shoes would put her further off balance and would impose a possible safety issue where she could perhaps injure herself even further. I asked to speak with Dr. for which she argued there was no point. As I persisted she became angry with me saying I was being ridiculous. Only after I threatened to write her up did she go and talk to him. As she went in the back I overheard collective laughter. The Dr. said that there was no medical reason for another shoe because since the other foot was not injured. He left put I still persisted to the nurse that it was unsafe and she stated I was refusing to let her give me the discharge instruction. I told her she was being unprofessional. She then tried to get the sheriff who was in the ER to kick me out. He understood and walked away but as I talking she told me she would discharge my 12 year daughter while signing out. She disappeared and I received no further info and was not told she was given NARCOs or any other info they are obligated to inform me off. She even signed off that she completed the discharge! Then came the illegal billing info when signing her out. no help to the car. Cop came and explained how wrong they were in parking lot on his own accord. His daughter had just broken her toe. Making official report. Stunned!

They released my mother pneumonia and out of controlled heart rate. It was no more then twenty minutes and I had to call the ambulance for her. I had them take her to Tullahoma. The doctor that released her is a complete idiot. It makes me wonder how many cereal box tops, he had to save to get is license!

I took a tour of their new heart cath lab last week and it looked great. During the tour, I met the new heart specialist. He was new to town but very excited to be in Winchester. A great addition to the hospital and to the community. Overall, a solid experience.
