This clinic was originally at intersection Bowen/Abrams, was named Bowen Animal Clinic. It is now located a quarter mile away on W.Abrams, hence why a name change needed. The new clinic is beautiful and comfortable for both master & pet. They provide the Same excellent veterinary service- both doctor and support staff. Campus: Covered parking helped on hot summer day, as I had a pet carrier, purse, and infant car seat to wrestle. I made a same-day reservation, so no wait time when I arrived. Note that my cat had a medical condition that day. There is a small childrens play area, maybe fits 3 kiddos. The main entry is one long room, allowing for distance between canines from felines. There are separate entry doors for examining rooms. The examining room had clean flooring-tile faux wood, maybe. Besides the examine tables, there was a country-style seating for one person. My cat was content, rolled on floor to share his scent. Service: Vet support staff Christina was familiar with my cat. They also have a computer program that maintains running info on each pet. While taking his stats, she interviewed me for information on my cats problem. She listened, I did not feel rushed. Seeing that I had an active toddler, and needing space to do an invasive procedure on my cat, we were moved to a larger room- how thoughtful! That room would hold 5-6 adults comfortably, and had comfy leather couch. The wait was minimal, Dr. Anderson entered calmly. We discussed cats general health and new medical condition for possible urinary infection/crystals-- A very possible reason for why male cat suddenly began urinating outside litter box. She listened to me, and observed the cat before examining. The doctor knew the cat was facing re-adoption due to family ultimatum for a stop in urine problem, so she offered a WIDE variety of affordable solutions. Solutions included: new litter options, litter attractant, pheromone plug-in, dry/wet cat food change. My cat was given an antibiotic. I am satisfied with this service. This vet is affordable for the great quality of service. Budget friendly alternatives are offered, and non-judgmental service provided. Note that the following day, staff called to see how my cat fared. Isnt that something?! A week has passed, cat urine problem stopped. Change in dry/wet food will be retained, to keep UTI issues at bay. Checkout: Clerk was quick with printout of veterinarian recommendations, variety of dry/wet cat food (at cost), and receipt with line itemization of costs. Also note that this vet caters to birds as well, a rare find, do pass this info to any friends.

I called about a guinea pig nail trimming. They dont do that but she gave me the number of a place who does, but i had already called them and i told her this. Trying to be social amd make small talk, i said that this other place charged $32 for one guinea pig nail trimming, and that this was way too much for one guinea pig. She replied with, "Oh, well we charge $58 for dogs and cats and a little more for birds. I think thats a reasonable price." She tried to argue with me and say that it was reasonable for $32 for one guinea pig nail trimming. Anybody who has guinea pigs would agree with me that this is simply too much to charge for this service. I am definitely never taking my animals here. If they cant provide good customer service then they cant provide good animal care.

We have been taking our dogs to Bowen Road Animal Clinic for the past several years without complaint. Recently our cairn terrier was diagnosed with a torn ACL and surgery was recommended. The surgeon opted for a less expensive procedure than planned, predicting excellent results. So, with excellent results, friendly expert staff, and hundreds of dollars in savings, I am happy to recommend Bowen Road Animal Clinic to anybody. I cannot guarantee they will save you lots of money, but I can assure you that you and your pet will be treated in a friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable manner and provided with top shelf care for your pet.

I brought in my two rescue kittens to the clinic for the first time. I had just got them and thought they had ear mites (they did). I decided to go to Bowen Road Animal Clinic- I had heard from friends that it was a good place to take pets. I was very impressed and pleased with my visit. All of the staff was very welcoming and friendly, not just to me but my kittens as well. They were very informative and helpful. As a perk, their prices are the best I have found in the area. I would highly recommend the Bowen Road Animal Clinic.

Five stars given to a caring, genuine, loving, attentive, and go above and beyond staff. You guys rock! They let me sit with my cat in the back for as long as I wanted. They offered me food and drink and anything to make me comfortable while I waited. They took care of my baby like she was their own animal and gave her so much love. You guys have a super team at Bowen Rd Animal Clinic. I love love love you! Thank you for everything you do!!

We love Dr. Smythe! He cared for our Wolf/Akita through bladder cancer, after 12 years of life with us, and we cannot say enough good about Dr. Smythe. His care gave our Taz one more year of life before we had to let him go. Now, we are way, way too far away to stay with him, and wow - do we miss him. Take your babies to Dr. Smythe with no hesitation - we highly recommend him and his wonderful staff.

My stepson, Alan Brown of K-9 Direction recommended Dr. Smyth. As a professional dog trainer, I trusted his judgement and was not disappointed. Dr. Smyth and his staff are beyond any that I have experienced. They are warm, caring and dedicated people. They even made a place for us when there wasnt one based on the immediate needs of our dog. They are the best! Bob Getz

We recently had to put our 15yr old lab down because he was having seizures, they helped to make sure it was our only option before making this incredibly difficult decision. BRAC helped us through the process and showed us the utmost care and love for our pup and family. We wouldnt take our other 3 dogs anywhere else.

Been using them for years, even when we moved miles away. Everyone there is friendly and caring, and very informative. You can trust their judgement and know they will do their best to help your pet. They helped 2 of my kitties through cancer and heart disease and gave them years on their lives! Im a believer. ^..^

Love this vet so much! They saved Poppys life when she was just a pup. The nicest people and they are so, so caring. I live in Dallas now but make the drive to Arlington for Poppy to come here. Worth it!
