Our 32 month old daughter broke her upper front tooth due to a sudden impulse to do a trick dive at the pool. She went in backwards and injured her chin and broke the tooth on the concrete edge on the way in. We saw a total of seven dentists and oral surgeons in a two week quest to save the tooth, which was fractured vertically beyond the gum and into bone. Dr. Daniel Johnsons advice was the same as others, there was almost zero probability that the tooth could heal itself, and extraction was the heartbreaking advice we received from all the experts. Dr. Johnson patiently allowed us the time we needed to be certain we were doing the right thing, helping us monitor for infection with multiple visits, and then when the time came to face reality, we managed to get in the next day for the extraction, which had to be done with minimal general anesthesia delivered by a mask. Of course we worried about anesthesia for our 30 pound child, but Dr. Johnson persuaded us that the fractured tooth may break into pieces and require more effort to fully extract, and our child would be unlikely to allow it without resisting. The anesthesiologist comes only a few days per month for exceptional cases requiring general anesthesia, so we were lucky that he was on site the next day, and we took a time slot that was available due to a cancellation. We were allowed to help our daughter begin the administration of the anesthetic gas through a mask, and when our babys eyes closed we were rushed, with my wife in tears, to the waiting area as Dr. Johnson used the very short duration of unconsciousness to extract the tooth. Dr. Johnson arrived at the waiting room within 10 minutes with the fractured tooth, and we hurried in to carry our baby out in our arms. She wanted to stay and watch a cartoon in the waiting room and was eager to raid the basket of little trinkets the kids are allowed to take home. She never showed any fear of her experience in this office through multiple visits, including the extraction day. I would say that the parents had more fear and anxiety during our weeks with the broken tooth ordeal than the baby. The atmosphere in this office was very supportive and non-threatening for our child and and Dr. Johnsons patient and professional demeanor reassured the nervous parents. This was our daughters only experience with a dentist, as we had delayed longer than is advisable to start a regular dental checkup routine. Now we are on the schedule for her first normal checkup at this office, and would recommend this practice to others.

I must say I was scared to take my kids into the dentist because they have not been to one in 5 years. When I got there the girls at the front desk were welcoming and I was called in maybe 5 minutes after I got there. The kids got in the chairs and the dental assistants had them ready for cleaning. They had TVs on the ceilings and the kiddos were so still I was so proud of them. Dr. Johnson came in and I stated that they have not been to a dentist in like 5 years he stated we do not judge I was so happy to hear that. He had to do x-rays on them and the machine there was having technical difficulties, so he made it his priority to contact the down stairs so he could get their x-rays done I was so happy he did this. When we were down there he stated the kids had no cavities YAY!!! supper excited well he found a teeny tiny one that I am going back for in April 2016. He is a great Doctor he or his staff judge there. I am happy to say that has been the best visit yet and I would refer this dentist office to all my friends and family. At the end of the visit the receptionist ladies worked with me on getting my et appointments set up and insurance to go through SHE helped me you dont get that everywhere. I left with a HUGE smile on my face everyone there is great with kids. I cant wait till the next visit and neither can my kids they actually enjoyed it. :)

Our experience was fantastic. We felt welcome and like honored guests! The office is decorated beautifully and is very clean. My kids already want to go back to the dentist just so they can see the toys and books! My daughter, who is 7 years old, said she thought Dr. Johnson was funny and nice. She was very happy that the exam didnt hurt at all! I brought my 2 year old son along and we also felt like he was welcome and invited. We never felt like he was looked at like a burden to have along. We really trust Dr. Johnsons medical opinion and feel it is backed up with a plethora of experience and study in the dental field. He explained our options thoroughly. It only took one visit before I knew I wanted to make the switch and have all 4 of our kids seen at this office! Everything about the office, Doctor, staff, and experience overall was exemplary and top notch!

An excellent dentist and office. Dr. Johnson is full of advice and personable. He learns each childs name and shows an interest in the parents as well. This isnt just about making money (important as that is) but about providing a quality service. The dental hygienists are great with the kids. They are positive and great at setting my 3 year old at ease. They perform their work carefully and quickly. It helps that there are tvs above the chairs, so the kids can watch tv while the work is done. Maybe Ill suggest that to my dentist (better than the awkward half-conversations, when the hygienist asks me a question while shes cleaning my mouth). The office staff is professional and helpful. We receive plenty of reminders. I would recommend Dr. Johnson to any parent.

Central Park Pediatric Dentistry is an amazing office!!! Dr. Johnson was an astounding dentist! He is very caring and patience with the children and has a very calm/cheerful demeanor he is an ideal pediatric dentist! ! My child can be very difficult and has been in the past and Dr. Johnson and his staff were excellent with her! Their office is very calm. In my opinion makes a world of difference with the kids. I just love this office and staff! The front end staff are very helpful and polite. They will go out of their way to answer any insurance questions and the dental assistants in the back are very patience and gentle also. They all go above and beyond to make you and your child feel welcome and as comfortable as possible! I highly recommend this office!

Dr. Daniel Johnson has provided the ideal environment for children. HIs genuine care and concern is felt throughout the whole visit. My children were never pushed beyond their comfort level. For example, my youngest started her first visit sitting in my lap and now she has advanced to be lying in the chair at our most recent visit. Another example of his awesome care has been with my son. My son has a lot of work that needs to be done, which Dr. Johnson talked us through using the X-rays. He never once pushed unnecessary work on us. He addressed our concerns with consideration and respect. He truly knows how to treat children. An extra HUGE plus for us is that he allows for family visits so my four children get to be seen one after the other.
