I have used this office since June 2014 for my 6 month cleanings/check ups. Although the hygienist was extremely talkative (about personal matters that were none of my business) and very rough, I continued to go. I have been trying to get a pre-determination of benefits from Dental Select on an implant since December. I have talked to the Dentist office twice during this time. When I went in for my 6 month cleaning appointment yesterday, I was informed that they are no longer in network with Dental Select (not since January and knew they were making the switch in December) - Dentist said "he wasnt going to allow an Insurance company to dictate how he gets paid". I was outraged to say the least. I had taken time off work and from December to June no one had informed me they were no longer a network Dr. Had I not had the pre-determination item pending the hygienist probably wouldnt have said anything at all. Now, I have to start the pre-determination process all over again with another Dentist. A positive note is that they agreed to cleaned teeth and waive any fees above reasonable and customary so I wouldnt be out of pocket. Then they tried to sell me something that isnt even insurance to stay with their office. CRAZY

When I first went to this office a couple years ago it was to see Dr. Valkenaar, so I had no idea what to expect when I had my first appointment with Dr. Hammons. I admit that at first I didnt really like him, but that could have just been because the hygenist that day looked just like my evil stepmother or the fact that I was finding out that I needed thousands of dollars worth of dental work. Since then Ive had a root canal and a temporary crown and I am going back for my permanent crown soon. Every time I go in I like them a little more. The office staff is fantastic, especially Lei. Dr. Hammons is very patient and lets me stop him in the middle of things if I have a question or just need to clear my throat. He even called me the evening after my last appointment to make sure I was feeling ok. I am likely to keep Dr. Hammons as my dentist until he or I leave the Austin area.

Let me start by saying I do not like going to the dentist and I have had horrible experiences with almost every dentist I have tried. My oral surgeon told me about Dr. Hammons and I cant tell you how great my experience has been! He is very patient, understanding and really listens to my concerns and answers all the questions I have. So far I have had 2 teeth taken care of and it was the most relaxed I have ever been ( I didnt even use gas and normally I have it just to get my teeth cleaned). He did a great job numbing just the area/tooth that he was working on and not the whole quarter of my mouth! The new technology he uses to create crowns in the office is amazing. I have alot more work to have done and for the first time ever I am not putting off scheduling the next appointment. I honestly cant say enough about how great I have found him and his whole staff!

I have been a patient of Hammons Family dental since they opened. Dr Hammons is a caring dentist and has followed up with me on several occasions after hours on a procedure(s) I had done at his office earlier that day; checking to ensure that everything was going well. He has a courteous, professional staff that has always been very helpful to me including those occasions that I requested additional information. His dental hygienist is very professional, thorough, and excellent with patients also. If you are looking for an excellent dentist, I would highly recommend Dr Hammons without any hesitation.

I have nothing but good things to say about the office staff and Dr Hammons. My mouth was a total mess although I have continuously kept up with recommended procedures. Dr Hammons has patiently taken me from a " mouth full of problems" to "everything looks good!" Dr Hammons has a great sense of humor and always takes a few moments to ask about things in my daily life. I love the personal touch from the office staff which has had to deal with my off beat attitude as well. I honestly feel you get what you pay for and I do not mind paying for the level of service I have received. Thank you!

I have been going to them for a few years now and I used to dread going to the dentist but from the beginning they have done everything possible to make me feel as comfortable as possible. Dr. Hammons has gone above and beyond for me when my retainer wasnt fitting right and I was leaving out of town in 2 days. He knew it was important and he was willing to meet me outside of business hours to ensure I had my well fitting retainer before I left out of town. I have recommended many here and I will continue to come here! Tammy is great and does a good job every time she cleans my teeth!

Ive visited a number of dentists and oral surgeons in the Austin area, and have had mixed results (mostly negative). Dr. Hammons is the *only* dentist who made me feel completely at ease about a particularly unpleasant dental procedure I needed to have. I found the entire experience completely stress-free. The prices are very competitive, the staff is friendly, and Dr. Hammons is a knowledgeable pro who talks to you like a person, not a patient. Highly, highly recommend.

The people here are genuinely great folks. They are kind courteous and professional. There are follow up calls from the dentist just to make sure that everything is going well. These are the things that you just can train; you are either genuine or you are not. Oh yeah, they are pretty good at dentistry too. Dont hesitate...you wont be sorry and you wont look back. These folks will change the way you feel about dentists.

Hammons Dental has served me for the last 5 years or so. Dr. Hammons and his staff are always professional and courteous. Dr. Hammons has personally called me to follow up on some dental procedures outside regular cleaning. Ive never experienced this from any professional health practitioner before. Theres a hometown vibe to this office which is rare these days. Highly recommended.

My experience has been that the staff are always professional. They certainly appear to use (and keep up with) modern equipment relative to other dental practices I have used. Of particular note, over the years Ive had dental work performed by about 4 different dentists and I can easily say that Dr. Hammons has done the best job at making procedures as pain free as possible.

I loved that Tammy remembered me, and asked about things we worked on last time. They all seemed to care about my concerns and listened to me. They worked hard to help with good care of my teeth. Dr Hammon has a lot of knowledge and works hard to find the best way to help patients. Love the innovative tools to make the care of teeth easy.

This is a great facility with very friendly staff. They got me in very quickly and addressed all my concerns. I had quite a few areas that needed work, and they helped me understand what needed to be done and the steps to do it all. Im really happy I found a dentists office so close to me that I can count on!
