Modern office with the latest technology - latest digital x-rays, computerized crowns (made within ten minutes), etc. Professional, polite. Dr. Gent doesnt push non-nessecary or cosmetic treatments - non-salesy. Recommends and tries to do the least invasive work. Explains his recommendations in detail. Ive been there for two procedures, while in town. Update April 2017: Now, my favorite dentist! Ill wait until Im back in Austin for all my dental checkups with Dr. Gent. Great staff too. I really like the dental hygienists too. Very competent, trustworthy, holistic, high tech, and personable. Also, Im taking better care of my teeth, which means more positive check-ups too. Update May, 2016: For my second procedure, I had half a crown put in, in February. It was close to the nerve, which Dr. Gent said was likely the reason for the pain. Fortunately, a second x-ray showed that the tooth was still okay - no infection or dying nerve. I was happy that Dr. Gent, wasnt too aggressive like some dentists would be, and go straight to doing a root canal or extracting it. He seems more holistic, and respected my wanting to save my tooth. He suggested we wait a bit to see if the pain went away. He also filed the tooth again to see if that would help. Still in pain, but, wanting to save my tooth, I researched, "how to save a tooth, naturally"; "prevent root canal, naturally", etc. I used some natural and homeopathic remedies: Arnica montana, Hypericum perforatum for nerve pain, turmeric capsules for pain, 1+ raw garlic cloves daily --fortunately, my husband didnt notice --, which have antibiotic properties, wheat grass shots, liver, raw grass-fed cheese, etc. And, I cut out sugar, foods with phytic acid, and ate super healthy foods. It has taken several months, but, my tooth seems to be recovering. The biggest improvement I noticed, was from my starting to eat the raw garlic about a week ago. Im wondering if there was a small infection in the tooth, that the garlic fixed, naturally. Now, Im needing to take less and less tumeric, capsules and holistic pills. Each day/week, its feeling better. I recommend reading Dr. Weston A. Price, a dentist, in the 1930s. He was stumped as to why his patients teeth were so bad - decay and crowding. Turns out it was due to our modern diet of processed foods, white sugar, etc.. Dr. Price traveled the globe and studied traditional cultures where he found that tooth decay was rare. They were cultures that hadnt yet been exposed to modern foods. It was because of their nutrient dense diet, that didnt include processed foods with phytic acid or sugar. Although, when roads were put into their villages, bringing processed foods, they too developed tooth decay, and kids started being born with crooked, crowded teeth.

I had such a wonderful experience that I took the time to create an account in order to recognize the professional service provided at SoLa Dental! I was warmly greeted by a smile from the receptionist, Lauren, who easily navigated me through the new patient check in process, which only took a total of five minutes. Then, I was handed over to a very friendly, efficient dental hygienist named Corey who gently eased my tensions as he explained all of the instruments (which I may add, were very modern and the most up-to-date equipment offered in the dentistry field). Dr. Gent was very professional, as well as, personable so I felt the comfortableness to ask any questions that came to mind. He left an impression on me that he has pride in providing the best patient care and doing whats best for my oral (and overall) health. I came to the end of the patient flow by being introduced to the office manager, Molly, who was just perfect to seal the exceptional care. She went over the insurance benefits for the present & future services while taking time to form a connection by engaging in a conversation. I appreciate my experience today and definitely look forward to coming back!

Hands down the best dental experience Ive had! I was really impressed with how they are committed to a whole new level of truly green dentistry....I didnt even know that really existed until Sola. Molly, Nicole & Dr. Gent completely changed my perspective on going to the dentist (which before Sola was rather grim)....they make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. Ive had quite a bit of work done there now (gum contouring, mercury filling removal, whitening and an extraction), and cant say enough good things....all of it healed quickly and I really feel it was done in the best and safest way possible. Dr. Gent and Molly even came in on a day off to take care of a very painful tooth for me, so I could enjoy my upcoming vacation! Great experience....if you have any hesitation, go see them, theyll walk you through everything and answer any/all questions (I had a ton). Plus theyre great about getting you in quick.

This was my first time in the city of Austin and I had an infected root that needed to be removed. I found Sola dental and they saw me within 24 hours of my call. Once I walked in the office I was surrounded by warm and welcoming employees. When I was introduced to Dr. Gent, he was very professional and knowledgable. He informed me of my infection and referred me to a wonderful endodontic doctor in the area. After the root canal was complete I contacted Sola Dental and they were able to perform a same day crown. I was amazed of their ability to schedule me to have the root canal and also the same day crown. My tooth feels 100% better and fits perfectly with my bite. I could not be happier with the help and support Sola dental has done for me!

SoLa Dental is AMAZING! Theyre super friendly and efficient. I needed some work done before leaving the country, and they worked with me to get me all set up as a new patient, plus fit me into their schedule to get some fillings, which I really wanted to knock out before leaving because my tooth had just become painful. They have great hours, so I was able to get an appointment before my work day started. Within the course of a week, I was good to go! Seriously, could not thank them enough and thankful I found them.

This place is great! I love that they dont even offer old style filling (who would want that anyway?) they are super accommodating, I had to bring my toddler and she decided to have a tantrum so they just let me reschedule instead. Id definitely recommend this place. Dont know about their prices but with our insurance its not bad at all.

Modern, green (paper free!) dental office. Typed in my details on an iPad, paid on an iPod, scheduled on an iMac, and watched ESPN SportsCenter on a flatscreen while I had my work done. Great, intelligent staff. And, its in my insurance network!

Wonderful service, amazing equipment thats all clean and modern. I really feel like these guys use the most sustainable and healthy technology - from x-rays to the filling materials and even mouth wash, a lot of thought goes in and it shows.
