Its hard to find a vet that really cares for the animals and has bedside manners in Brownsville. This one has both. My cat was sneezing and they squeezed her in last minute that same day. They were very polite, professional, their clinic was clean, and did their best to make my cat feel comfortable. They didnt pick my cat up by the back of her neck (thank goodness), but used a towel to help restrain her when they took her temperature and gave her a shot of antibiotics. The staff even talked to her while he was doing this and told her, " Im sorry" several times and said, "I would hate it if someone stuck a thermometer up my butt too." The vet came in with a joke and was very careful with my cat. My cat was very cooperative but even when she struggled a bit (due to getting he shot) he only complimented her. Wonderful place! I have to say something about the other review on here because it upset me so much. The one that gave one star to the vet who was trying to give your pet a pain killer because it ate poison. Honestly the review only makes you look bad. Your animal was in excruciating pain, on their death bed, and you didnt want them to pass peacefully? Youd rather their last moments here be in pain? Wow. My friend took her cat to the vet, who was in pain, and he got a shot for pain and it was $50 tops. The vet was trying to show you that your pet could pass peacefully for a $50 shot. If my cat was in pain, even if it was her last breaths, I would insist they give her the pain medicine. Her comfort means more to me than $50 and I barely make enough money to pay rent.

Dr. Jim Gomez and Dr. Joe Coulter have consistently provided excellent diagnostics and treatment for all my pets over the years...cats and dogs both. I saw the other review and had to respond in kind...stuff happens. Both in animals and humans, and doctors provide the best advice they have given the apparent conditions. I have always been able to contact them with questions and concerns and have had great service from them. One incident does not provide an accurate picture of this practice. M Myers, Brownsville, TX

First time I went to this place and the last. Our puppy had eaten poison and it was obvious to the dr. that he was moments in passing...dr really tried selling (thats what it felt like he was doing selling) the euthanasia shot for the little guy. We asked for 1 minute alone to think about it..and literally 5 seconds as soon as the dr. left the puppy died. He was trying to charge us for something that was obviously not needed. Would never trust them.

Horrible! No animal compassion! Dont waste your money in this place. They only want your money. How sad to see places and people like that operating. A bunch of thieves as well. Told us we would be charged $160 for an evaluation because it was an emergency for our poor dog who was attacked by another dog and when it was time to pay they told us it was $200! So wrong and disgraceful place. I should of called the police!

Very clean and friendly. The vet is a jokester and the staff is always there to help. Always take my dog to get his shots here and I can honestly say that I trust them to get my pet taken care of. Ive seen those horrible reviews these people gave yall but theyre straight up wrong. They are gentle with my dog and recommend the best treatments and medicines. 5 stars mang!

Worst place ever. Do not take your pets there. Especially if its an emergency. They charge you $200 for an evaluation! Not worth your money and tears. Other more compassionate vets anywhere else. Didnt even offered to administered pain medication for my dying pet. VET in charge doesnt even know how to do emergency sergeries but was fast to quote me on them. Ridiculous!

My family has brought our pets to Brownsville Veterinary Hospital for about 50 years. Wonderful caring doctors and staff. Experienced nothing but best treatment for our pets in routine and emergency cases. And of course we have had to put pets down on occasion but everyone was very compassionate and gave us all the time we needed to say good bye.

One of the worse places you better make sure that the things you pay for are done and the medication through the needles are actually inserted ...Rip offs
