I had been taking my dogs to this vet for years... Just recently, I had a dog that got injured by a car and I rush her in... I told them I didnt have much money but they insist to take x-rays and then they finally said oh she needs a specialist to redo her leg because it was broken in three different places... I couldnt believe it, I just told them I didnt have much money...they had no remorse and didnt care... I would have paid in payments to safe my dogs life but they dont do that, they told me I need to apply for credit... And then when I gone to talk to my brother and was outside they came outside and told me they can do surgery but they cannot guarantee the outcome.... First of all they should of known how severe my dog was, and should of offer to put her down or said we can do x-rays but the x-rays may show severe injury.. but no, they still took x-rays, without giving me a choice... They give her pelvic exam saying it was not collapse but didnt think they needed to do an x-ray but still did the x-ray... I still paid over $300 money I didnt have... I will never take my dogs there... And I stopped payment, because I dont think they deserve to be paid, they only care about how much they should charge you, then giving me a choice.... I think all vets should be like human ER, let us pay in payments, not everyone have that type of money for either dog or human... So why should it be any different...why should we pay up front, for a dog when we dont have to at an ER.. animals dogs, cats are part of our family too, so should they be treated as such??!!! I have four other dogs and I already found another vet that I really like and they will be going there from now on...

I took my dog here while she was struggling with a difficult labor. She had given birth to one puppy that was a still-born and another puppy that was alive when born. She still had two more puppies in her and had been unable to give birth the entire night to the last two. We took my dog in and they performed the c-section. The two puppies were fine but they did not give the mother any pain medication and they left a needle in her (from her IV I assume). They did not keep her for observation overnight and she ended up dying the next day at another animal hospital (that they recommended) because they refused to see her without payment (the banks were closed and I offered to pay the next day). It was a devastation to our family and I know that if they had kept her for observation and performed the operation correctly she would have been alive today. Between this and the other animal hospital I was extremely disappointed.

My husband and I are still in disbelieve. Its the 21st century and this is the only clinic weve been to (yes we are military) that DOES NOT call you when you animal is out of surgery. WHAT??? Really you want us to just guess a time and show up? Even better is they can not email you anything, or be bothered to call you about your appointment. This is the only vet weve started to use that DOES NOT call the owner for anything. This is really sad they have such poor customer service bc I really liked the veterinarians. To help you understand the difference, I just got a call from our vet in SC to remind me my dogs were pass due. Now thats service, and they even emailed me their current shot records to show me what was needed. Maybe its because we are in the military that emailing and calling us about our pets is very considerate. So sad to say but we are going to take our business else where.

be aware before you take your pet here that you have to pay full amount due at time of services. the price of the visit alone was $35 not 20 as before mentioned by another review. add 2 shots and im up to 60$ for the 30min worth of service. i told them i would have to come back because i only had 40 dollars on me and they threatened me with calling the police because i was 20 dollars short even after i have been there several times before and paid in full copious amounts of money for services that i felt were outside the needs of my animal. they even forgot to perform a service i requested i realized after i got home. would rather pay more for a vet that does not conduct business in such a monetarily fickle manner. seriously, i understand the policy but for a person who has been a repeat customer and to be so abrasive towards me over 20 dollars is unacceptable.

I kept getting the run-around about what procedure my dog needed for her hip. Every vet there wanted to do something different and charged me extra for every opinion, even though I didnt ask for that. One even wanted to put my dog completely under just for an x-Ray (an x-ray that another vet there got 2 months earlier without ANY sedation)! So I scheduled her for hip surgery, and the day before the procedure I got a call to confirm. They had booked the WRONG dog for the WRONG procedure!!! So I cancelled that and just went back to my old vet, 2 hours away, for the hip issue. When I tried to give Southside another chance, half of the doctors were no longer working there, and nobody would say why or where they went. This place reaks of scam.

I have used this vet for a few years now and have always been happy with them. In fact I was so happy I decided to board my animal there while I was on vacation. When I picked my animal up, it was very obvious that something was wrong with it. It has always had a skin problem, but nothing compared to this. It had obvious hair loss around his eyes and feet. I rushed him to another vet who questioned where I had left my animal, I told him my normal vet. Of course I have good taste and would never tell them what vet, but he was concerned about how my animal could be in such a condition and have no one notice. I do not recommend boarding your animal there. I am now looking for a new vet as well.

We are very pleased with the care and professionalism here. My dog was bitten by a snake and the vet closest to me (Padre) was "too busy with their own emergencies" (direct quote) to see my dog. Southside not only saw my dog on extremely short notice, they urged me to come ASAP when I called them. They too were busy but they took time to care for my dog immediately. Im happy to say that my dog is on the mend. Also, I never felt pressured for any treatment options. They took the path of least to greatest care and my dog is alive and well.
