If you actually care about the health and wellbeing of your pet, take them elsewhere. We took our two week old rescue kitten in because we were concerned that he couldnt go to the bathroom, something I repeatedly stated since the moment we walked in the door, and Dr. Mohney completly wrote off those concerns. Instead of actively listening to me he treated me like I was stupid and just didnt know what I was doing. Even though I told him that wed been having trouble for the last two days, he sent us home after a brief exam telling us that the baby was fine. We ended up at the emergency vet that evening after our kitten was so dehydrated from not eating (due to the constipation wed been concerned about that morning) that he needed emergency care to make it through the night. When I tried to call and talk to Mohney about the situation he was extremely rude and refused to accept any responsibility for the role he played. He didnt even so much as offer an apology that our kitten nearly died because of his negligence. Dont let this guy anywhere near your fur babies.

I took my dog in for a vaccination and to get his nails trimmed. My dog is black, they mark him down as brown. When I gave the birth date, they put it down a month and a day off. The vet was immediately rough with my dog and acted like he hated dogs in general. My dog acted very frightened and he did nothing to put him or me at ease. He told me that my dog scratched someone and he would not clip his nails without putting him under. My dog was so scared of him that he peed everywhere and acted like he was a wild animal. I have never seen my dog act like that. I had to leave him there and when I called to see about what time I could pick him up, they were very gruff with me and several times said did they would just call me- even when I reminded them that they were going to be closing soon. I wound up paying over $100 for a $16 nail clip. Basically they were rude, inattentive, inaccurate, and I wouldnt even take my dogs there to have him put down because they would probably screw that up.

We have been taking our Golden Retriever to Arapahoe since the day we bought him from the breeder, who recommended them. In 2006, we moved 30 minutes away to the west side of town and we are pleased to make the drive over. Arapahoe has never tried to over-charge us, and their professionalism and friendliness cant be beat! Last summer, our dog got a terrible heat rash and I just wanted to try the "New strip-mall vet" close-by. What a HUGE mistake! They charged us ridiculous exam fees, outrageous charges for creams, RXs, and said they would have to hold our dog down to give him a shot! Not to mention, they were incredibly rude and insensitive! We were outraged and felt very taken advantage of. Needless to say, we went straight to Arapahoe and we got excellent service, got what we "needed" and said "Never again!" :)

My first visit, I took my cat in to get his annual shots and to get advice on putting him on a diet. As soon as the vet walked in, he started telling me I needed to give him filtered water for this illness he sees a lot, I asked if my Kilo had it and he rudely said "No, thats why Im telling you this so I wont see him back in 3 months with the problem." Then I asked what I could do to help him lose a little weight and he just said use the light version of this filtered thing for the water. Thats all. He didnt offer any food suggestions or any activities to try. As soon as he gave him the shots he walked out. I was seriously disappointed in my visit and I will never go back again!

I had been going here for a while, then switched to another vet because Arapahoe seemed way too expensive. I went back to Arapahoe today just because of convenience and was pleasantly surprised! Dr. Skaggs was so caring and professional. He explained everything in detail and was very kind to me and my dog. The front desk staff was prompt and friendly. I dont know how much I would have spent at my other vet for the same procedures, but the atmosphere alone has me switching back. It was not overly crowded, I wasnt waiting for an hour, and it was so much cleaner than the vet I had switched to. I am happy to say that I will be taking all my dogs to Dr. Skaggs in the future!

I took my dog here because my vet was not available and this place allowed walk ins. My dog had a severe cough. The vet looked at the dog for 5 to 10 mins and said he had congestive heart failure and prescribed a medication. There were no tests done or offered to be done. The medicine prescribed made my dog nearly die from dehydration. Luckily next time I went to an animal E.R. and they caught this places mistake. If I would have never gone here I might not had the stress on my familly of all of us convinced our dog was a gonner. Also the additional treatment (at least partially caused by the medication) was over 500$.

Went only because my dog was very sick and my vet was out of town. They could see my dog right away. Big mistake. They wont hydrate with an IV, but refer to Emergency Clinic for that. Seems they would rather euthanize than treat a very ill dog. Have since heard this from a neighbor. Found out later that my dogs illness was misdiagnosed and I wouldnt have had her put down. Costs more to have my dog euthanized here than for my vet to come to my house.

Used them for years but got tired of the lack of compassion and overpriced services. Before you go here call around for pricing. They are very expensive, especially for being in a economically challenged area. The last straw for me was the lack of compassion and all around bad attitude of the entire staff from the front desk to the vets themselves. Wont be taking anymore of my pets here, they deserve better.

I will NEVER take another pet to this vet. I brought in a stray to have it examined, tested, and spayed with the intention of keeping the cat. Arapahoe did not de-worm my cat. Because of their negligence, I then had to de-worm 5 cats. If they are not de-worming stray cats, then I caution any one who brings a pet to them for care, as their standard of care is not very high.

For a routine visit, this vet fulfilled a need. Beyond that, I constantly felt I was inconveniencing them by calling or asking questions of the vet. I appreciate good services toward my pet, but customer service towards the owner is just as important in my book. I value the assurance that a vet clinic is going to take the very best care of my pet, and I never found that here.

Was very happy that they do walk ins, after calling 6 other vets I would not be able to take my kitty in until wednesday, they got me in charged me a reasonable fee, and my kitty was able to be dewormed and sleep in my pillow again. Price was about $8 higher than I was quoted but still approximately the same as other fees only I was able to be seen immediately
