Would NOT recommend them...combination care service my dog received and MAJOR customer service FAILURE afterward. I took my dog in for a bump under his eye that burst. Went in on 12-8-15 and was seen by a “relief vet” who took all of 5 minutes with my dog, said his teeth caused an infection, blood work was taken, antibiotics prescribed, a dental procedure suggested, an invoice handed over to me. I asked if the wound should be cleaned and the bump drained more since it seemed to me that was needed, but was told no. The next day I was e-mailed and asked to review them and I did through a link they provided. I was contacted by them and they apologized and said the relief vet would not be returning. To give them the benefit of the doubt about care service, yesterday, 12-9-15, I asked for and got a dental quote for the dog I brought in and his sister who also needs dental done. Total combined for both is about $800.00...I booked their appointments. Last night I noticed my dog’s wound bleeding and again noticed that the bump looked like it needed draining. My job is near them so I brought my dog to work with me this morning, called them, and said I’d like to bring him in for the wound cleansing that didn’t occur and I felt I shouldn’t be charged for it, given my initial not-too-pleased experience and my still willing to give them another chance with the dentals. I was told no, that the wound cleaning was $24.00 and the fee would not be waived. I had to take my bleeding dog back home because I don’t get paid until tomorrow and didn’t have the cash on me. This is REALLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will bring him in to them tomorrow and pay the $24.00 because his immediate need right now is more important to me than my irritation at them. However, needless to say, I will be shopping around for another place to do the dental service on my babies....I live in and work in a place surrounded by dog owners....they have lost not only me but anyone else I might have recommended.....it seems it all wasn’t worth the $24.00 to them....HOW SAD IS THAT!

Up until last week, I had had nothing but positive experiences with Watauga Animal Hospital over the past 5 years. Last week my 4 month old kitten came down with a bladder infection, which can be very serious. My first grievance is that this potential emergency was turned down for an appointment when the vet practice was contacted over an hour before close, resulting in a very expensive trip to an emergency vet clinic, for a temporary fix. The next day, I took my kitten into Watauga Animal Hospital, and they acted as if they would do what was needed to help him. By 3 pm, they had called to tell me that they were out of the necessary catheters to help him. Theyd get more in the next day. The next day, when their order arrived, the needed catheters were not received. Dr. Tran and her associates proceeded to tell me that I needed to take my kitten to another vet as they couldnt obtain those catheters, and after speaking with them at length, it is apparent that they were unwilling to work with any other area vets to obtain these necessary supplies. After having care voluntarily terminated by this vet, they proceeded to charge me the full amount of their quote. Unacceptable. As a service provider, if you dont have the necessary supplies to finish a job, you should not START that job. And if your incompetent supply chain management causes you to not be able to finish, that is on YOU. To sum it all up, I took my cat to a different vet, who has worked with my kitten for the past 5 days (3.5 days longer mind you), successfully treated him, and is charging me $100 less. Watauga Animal Hospital will be out of business if they cant figure out how to manage their practice, and it will be to the betterment of the animals of their community. They may yet end up in court if they cant figure out how to uphold their end of a contract. Good luck Dr. Tran

I brought my dog in with symptoms of general malaise and eating dirt and white gums. He examined her and said dirt eating was odd, but not unheard of. Was not alarmed by her gums. He took a CBC after I prodded him. It took two days to get CBC results back, He also took an xray which was of terrible quality. My dogs PCV was dangerously low at 12% (should be over 38). Did not diagnose. When I requested another appointment, I was told more blood work would be necessary and it would be over $200. I explained I had pet insurance and they could direct bill, they flatly refused!! This was right before Christmas. I asked if I could pay it in increments, and the pet insurance company was happy to talk to them about paying them directly. I was told no--- even though we were neighbours, and it was right before Christmas. The next day, I picked up the xrays and blood tests we had paid for. I did my own research, and discovered she had Immune Mediated Haemolytic Anaemia. It is a DEADLY disease that often kills rather swiftly even with proper treatment. I called and confronted them, then they acted like IMHA was no big deal, suggested I take my dog to an internist. I then called another local vet, I told the tech her symptoms, she said bring her in now, do not worry about the money! They happily direct billed the insurance company. When I got her to this vet her PCV was at 6% she should have been in a coma. They did what they could for 18 months. Sadly, my girl did not make it. It is very possible had we started treatment sooner, she would not have died. That aside, the vet I wound up and took her too made a good deal of money off her treatment---this proves that Litsey is not only a terrible vet, but a poor businessman as well. Everyone in the office is callous, and uncaring.

WORST VET EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!! I will never ever go to this clinic again. Dr. Litsey is a very impersonal individual and shows zero concern for the pet and pet owner. I urge anyone to always, ALWAYS get a second, third, or even fourth opinion from various vet clinics when the well being of your pet is in jeopardy. My clinics of choice are Creekside and Family pet care. They show limitless concern and are very encouraging. They always have the best interest for the pet in mind. Dr. Litsey is very quick to put a pet down when they could have in fact been saved. I was told there was NOTHING Dr. Litsey could do for my dog and to just take him home and let him die.We took him to another vet and they took very good care of him and now he is on his way to a speedy recovery. Also when Dr. Litsey did blood work on our dog we were told it would take a day. At family pet care it took only 15minutes...FIFTEEN!!!! A lot of time and money was wasted at the Litsey clinic. They are also not very informative in the least!!

This vet isnt the cheapest, but it is a VERY good and clean place! My dog was in a car wreck with me and I tried doing everything with in my power to save him. We couldnt figure out what was wrong with him but they kept running every test possible and would keep him over night and on ivs just to make me feel better. I went to several vets because I could no longer afford this one after taking him there every day for a week. Well I ended up having to put him down due to internal injuries. They let me sit with him for as long as I wanted and they were very good and kind to him. Afterwards they let me sit with him and cut a piece of his hair to put in the cremation box. They ended up giving me the upgraded wooden box with engraved gold plated name for free instead of just the velvet bag. Later on they even sent me a card and an imprint of his paw with his name on it like you do with babies and their hand print. They were so nice and caring. The only thing that would make this vet perfect is if they were a little bit cheaper.
