Finding a dentist in such a large city can be overwhelming, especially when considering that tooth pain can be one of the worst, and dental costs can be seemingly exorbitant. Ive had a great experience with Affordable Dentistry & Orthodontics, so I wanted to write a detailed list as to why I found choosing this practice best for my needs. I know many of you out there are probably paranoid about finding a dentist that can meet your needs, will treat you/your family wonderfully, and will take care of you and limit the pain that is involved with dental procedures. 1) The staff is professional and friendly. From the moment I walked in for my initial appointment/eval, to the continued procedures Ive needed performed, I have yet to encounter something complaint worthy as far as the character of the employees and staff. 2) The dental professionals performing your work know what they are doing. Dr. Carmichael studied and specialized, per their website, in "full mouth rehabilitation, endodontics, oral surgery, and cosmetic dentistry." I found this knowledge to be made evident in his inspection and diagnosis related to some issues I was having with my teeth. He very plainly laid out the procedures I needed and why I needed them, using x-rays to explain the state of certain teeth and how he would correct the issues I was having. 3) Oral health is the focus rather than product/procedural sales. Many dental practices are smaller branches of a larger holdings company that desires certain sales quotas to be met. Because of their partnerships with other product-providing companies, they will try to get you to buy something that you dont need. The company is family owned, and you can tell. I was given an explanation of why I needed certain procedures done in detail, and I felt confident that the information I was provided was thorough and professionally explained, placing emphasis on those procedures that were needed more urgently, and never trying to get me to pay for something I didnt need. 4) The scheduling and payment staff are reliable/helpful. My initial eval involved about a 20-30 minute wait, but that is the longest I have waited thus far. The scheduling staff makes sure to confirm appointments as well by sending a text allowing you to confirm and a phone call to remind you that you have an appointment approaching. I dont know if some of the reviews written were by new patients or walk-ins, but I have found that I never wait more than 5-10 minutes. You also dont have to wait long once brought to a room, and the staff checks in on you frequently throughout a procedure or exam. 5) They have an in-house insurance and financial planning specialist. I am lucky and have secondary insurance, but the specialist works quickly and effectively by reaching out to your insurance providers and providing a cost estimate for specific procedures. They also accept many forms of insurance. 6) The office is always clean. I feel that sanity is really important at any medical office. The furniture and equipment is somewhat dated, but it is always clean in the office. 7) Dr. Carmichael performed a root canal, and I felt a little pain initially, but he quickly heard my complaint, and stopped to provide more anesthetic/numbing agent. For the severity of a root canal procedure, I left with only a little soreness, and a fast-healing tooth He did a great job, and I really appreciated him being attentive to my pain threshold. If you are looking for a dentist, I would definitely recommend this practice. Ive already been to 3-4 visits, and each one has been consistently satisfactory. Disclaimer: I was not paid, given any discount/product, or asked to write this review, and any opinion is reflective of my own honesty and satisfaction as a customer/patient. I really know that finding a new dentist can be troubling, but Im glad I chose Affordable Dentistry & Ortho. I would recommend to anyone in need a amazing dentist with affordable pricing and exceptional service. Give them a call. :)

What a great dental practice. I have tried nearly a dozen dentists across DFW from the big chains, schools.. and small practices and never once had such a great experience as Ive had here. They dont gouge you by billing for "multiple" fillings on a single tooth as so many do, nor are they instantly pushy to replace crowns that dont need to be replaced. Their billing staff will work with you and show you all of the options available from pre-payments, insurance timing to get the best bang for your buck and will rework the numbers back and forth to make them work for you. A huge advantage for not only time but expense is they have their own lab, so they do not need to refer you to another specialist for things like implants or making crowns. Ive worked with both Duane Taylor and Bryan Carmichael, both very professional and informative. All procedures nearly pain free and Id recommend working with them over any other practice in DFW.

HORRIBLE!!! DONT GO HERE!!! about 6 yrs ago I went in to get two of my wisdom teeth pulled out because they were causing me pain. I had the worst experience when they took it out. I FELT EVERYTHING! As I am in agonizing pain, the dentist said," if you dont stop screaming or crying, Im going to have to leave you like this and make you leave because you are scaring my patients." It was so painful that he had several assistants to hold me down during the procedure. HORRIFIC!! Now, I have been having pain in that same area where he supposedly remove the wisdom tooth from and there is a piece of it breaking thru the skin. Its painful but I know I wont be going back to them to get this fixed. DON"T GO here! DONT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE! Awful and expensive.

I had a nerve that had gone bad below my crown. I got an appointment on the same day and did not have to wait more than 20 min once I arrived. Dr. Taylor did a fantastic job on my root canal, not to mention he was able to save my crown! The staff made the entire process comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend!

I love it here! Dr. Carmichael recently completed my root canal/crown procedure and made the whole process seamless and it looks and feels GREAT! Dr. Taylor is always so nice whenever I am there and asks how your visit goes just out of concern! I just love it here! Moral of the story :)

The Ortho/Dentist I have seen twice now I do not feel gave me the best information in regards to the problems I was having. Also, both times being there I do not feel like he treated the dental hygienists respectfully. I will most likely be going elsewhere.
