I saw Elena Ricci, assistant of Dr Betty Park at Dr. Betty J Park, MD - Dermatology on Friday, July 9th for acne and discoloration issues. After she prescribed the medicine, she didn’t even bother sticking around to give me instructions, she quickly left the room and told me that the secretary or whoever took my info was going to explain to me how to use the medicine, certain things weren’t clear so I had that person call Elaina back to the room, I waited in the room for 10 min and Elaina didn’t show up. I got tired of waiting because I took an appointment with her not with the secretary and I don’t believe that sticking around for questions the patient has was too much to ask so I got the name of her manager (Jennifer Yun I believe) and left. When I got the medicine and was calm I called them back left a voicemail on Monday, July 19th specifically asking for Elaina to call me and left my cell number, guess what happened again? 3 other nurses who had no idea about the answers and no knowledge of the medications called me, they kept telling me “let me ask Elaina and I will call you back”; this got really frustrating so I told one of the nurses that I didn’t want to talk to anybody else beside Elaina or someone who is familiar enough to advice me on the medication or answer my questions. On Friday someone else other than Elaina called me, I asked to talk to the manager, Miss Yun… I explained to the manager what the issue was, she totally agreed with me and said that she would get at the bottom of it and it shouldn’t be a problem for Elaina to call me, she asked me a time for Elaina to get back to me and I told her that I worked overnight I get off at 8:30am so I’d like for Elaina to call me AFTER 8:30am. Elaina called me on Tuesday, July 27th few minutes before 8:30am, I was still at work and was in a conference call with my clients, I still picked up so I can tell her that I’m not off yet, she should call me after 8:30am like I asked her manager to. She said “excuse me? Well I have a patient at 8:30 so I will call you in between appointments” then I said ok, she never called me back. I called her manager again on the 28th of July (the next day) and told her that I specifically asked her to tell Elaina to call me after 8:30am because I get off of work at 8:30am and I would not be able to talk before that, Miss Yun tried to get smart with me, got in a pissy mood and told me that all my questions were answered before I left the office (as if she was there) and also said that Elaina told her that when she called me I told her that I was sleeping and she should call me back later… I never said that!!! What a liar!!!! Plus Miss Yun herself told me “you said you work overnight and you sleep at 8:30am”, how can people register the information so wrong???? Why would I wanna give you my sleep time???? Anyways the manager and I got in a pissy mood, she said “honestly when Elaina called you, with the way you’ve been wanting to talk to her, you should have taken few minutes to talk to her and ask your questions, so I don’t know what we can do for you now…” WTF???? Can you believe that? She refused to talk to me or return any of my phone calls and had the assistant call me 3 times and gave me lame excuses everytime, (oh she is busy with patients, she left for the day, she has family emergency… I’ve heard all their excuses… and everytime I told them please have Elaina call me); I then told the manager that when I’ve been calling for a week wanting to talk to Elaina about the medicines she prescribed to me, they kept telling me she was busy and she was not capable of taking a few moments of her time to call me and answer my questions (which is part of her JOB!!!!) so I was patient and considerate enough of their time and I needed them to be considerate of mine as well and respect the fact that I cannot take personal phone calls especially when I’m in a conference call at work. I will drive to Austin if I have to in the future to see my dermatologist...

I cant say enough wonderful things about Elaina Ricci. She caught a melanoma on my leg last year while it was still a stage 1. I ended up being very uncomfortable with the surgeon who was going to remove it, so I called and left Elaina a message letting her know. She called me back to reassure me that I could go to my regular surgeon who performed my previous wide excisions. This was a huge relief to me and pretty much eliminated my anxiety about the procedure! On top of that, Elaina is extremely thorough during every office visit and never makes me feel like she is rushing through my appointment. Even on the phone, she is always personable and its obvious that she genuinely cares about her patients. Dr. Park is also awesome. She performed one of my wide excisions and was friendly and professional the entire time, which made me feel at ease during the surgery. Its really not fair for people to give this office a low rating for the office staff when the doctors are so wonderful. I have been here many, many times over the years and only had one bad experience with a nurse who was clearly new (I dont think she works there anymore), but that definitely wasnt enough to make me want to go somewhere else. So if you want a caring, friendly dermatologist who knows their stuff and can catch early stage melanoma, visit this office!

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Park for my daughter. When I called to confirm the appointment, the staff was rude and made excuses for why they couldnt contact us. When we arrived they wanted a photo ID for my daughter who turned 18 this year. She didnt have it, I offered mine and offered to fax her ID promptly when we returned home. They seemed indifferent and after 15 minutes scolded us for not having the ID but said she could bring it to the next visit. We NEVER saw Dr. Park but instead saw her medical intern. She seemed nice but by then we had a sour taste in our mouth based on the reception staff. I would NOT recommend Dr. Park. The staff seemed indifferent to our needs. And while I realize that everyone needs to present an ID when they arrive, I was insulted that they would not immediately accept my ID as my daughters Mother. They reluctantly did but by then I was annoyed.

I really like this office so I hate having to post a negative review but the front office staff is terrible. It blows me away how theyre allowed to continue working in this position when they are the first impression a patient gets of a practice. One girl seems to be angry and sits there with the worst sour face the whole time and the other must be new as she seems to have no clue what shes doing. On top of that I was in a few days ago and while I was waiting you could clearly hear the front office staff talking badly about a patient!! I understand not all patients are pleasant and sometimes you have to vent but do so in private and not within earshot of your other patients. If it wasnt for the pleasant medical staff in the back I dont believe I would ever return.
