When my Blue Cross plan, which I was happy with, was discontinued as it did not meet the new guidelines, we had to get new insurance. During the process, we chose Brenda Hampton as our Primary Care Physician. When I called the office to make an appointment, I was informed that Dr. Hampton was not taking new patients. I explained that she was chosen from the list of doctors who were taking new patients, so my husband and I should already be considered as her patients. The person on the phone said that didnt matter, and to call my insurance and get a new doctor. We spent some time choosing this doctor, and felt good about the choice, so I was disappointed that we were turned away. I know nobody cares--just pick a new name off a list--but we wanted a good doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hampton for @12 years. After moving to Texas in 1995 and going through @ half a dozen primary care physicians, I was so pleased to find a doctor who took the time to really talk to me and most of all listen to my concerns. I never feel like the appointment is rushed, which is important to me. Always a straight shooter about what I need to do to improve my health and if I call with an unexpected ailment, her staff does everything possible to squeeze me in within 24 hours. This is an excellent doctor and a great practice.

Dr. Hampton is an excellent doctor. We should know because we have been going to see her for years and have always appreciated her care and concern. You are never rushed when you are examined. She is more interested in finding out how you are doing and is willing to chat. She obviously finds that she can often discover more about a person not by hearing specific complaints for specific visits but getting the overall perspective of how they are really doing. We love that in a doctor.

Dr. Hampton is great but her employee has always gave me attitude due to the fact I havent been back to the office for a year. If I have nothing wrong with me why do I need to see a doctor. Her office manager is the worst, I understand the office are doing well enough to where you dont take on new patient. It doesnt mean you can mistreat your current patient.

Dr Hampton has been my PCP for about 4 or 5 years now. She will be my PCP until she stops practicing or I die, which ever comes first. Personable, compassionate, knowlegeable, experimental, current and cost oriented, they just dont get much better than Dr Hampton.

Spoke to front desk just now. Apparently they dont look up your insurance because its too much work and info to put in system. What happened to doctors or people in the field helping people? The front desk lady needs a new job!
