Dr. Kent Cooper is Amazing. Without Dr. Cooper I dont think my little French Bulldog "Fadi" would have made it so far. When we got Fadi she had bordetella that she had contracted while she was with her breeder. The poor little thing would have coughing fits that were so bad she couldnt breath for minutes at a time and would make her heave so badly she would throw up. The first vet we brought her to diagnosed her with "bolting her food" and said her coughing and vomiting were the results of eating too fast(this was from seeing air in her stomach on the xrays, all Frenchies have more air than normal in their stomachs!!). When I explained that I hadnt been able to get the dog to eat anything for the past two days, and besides there was no food in her vomit, so how could the issue be related to bolting her food, the vet just shut us down and insisted that my dog just had a minor cold and issues with eating too fast. We were given a minor antibiotic. Next this other vet tried to tell us to spend thousands of Dollars on a minor joint issue. She told us our Dog had stage four patellar luxation and that if she did not have orthopedic surgery ASAP she would be totally crippled by the time she was a year old. I went home and looked at the symptoms and my dog had none of the issues for the advanced stages that require major surgery. In the mean time my puppy just got sicker and sicker and thinner and thinner. She even started getting mange from her weakened immune system. Every time we brought her in they gave us BS and sent us home. I finally got sick of the run around, I was pretty sure my baby would die. I finally gave up a started researching a new vet when I found Dr. Cooper. Dr Cooper was far away, but numerous reviews from fellow Frenchie owners convinced me it was worth the drive to check him out. During my first visit with Dr. Cooper he actually LISTENED when i explained my dogs symptoms and behavior. He also spent a much longer than normal listening to her breathing, checking her palate, joints took xrays etc.. he was gentle and thorough. Rather than seeing a new patient as another dollar in his pocket, you could tell he genuinely liked animals and wanted to help them. After my dogs x-rays came back he showed me my dogs lungs, they were 2/3 full of fluid(how the other vet missed that on the x-ray i will never know)!! He diagnosed her with bordatella that had turned to pneumonia. He gave us a very strong regimen of several different antibiotics, some things to help her breath, and a treatment for the mange she had developed(all of this, including the xrays, cost less than the last vet had charged me just to get 1 x-ray). He also looked at her hips, and as I suspected said she did NOT need a major invasive surgery, as a matter of fact for a dog of her size, the mild nature of her joint issues would have been made worse by surgery. He said if we kept her well exercised and gave her joint supplements she should be fine into her old age, at witch point she might get some mild arthritis, but what dog doesnt get that!! Anyways, within 2 weeks of our First visit with Dr. Cooper my puppy was a normal healthy puppy...eating, breathing, playing...and getting into trouble!!! :) She even got her hair back. She turns 2 tomorrow and has had NO issues with hip pain or mobility(so much for the other vets prediction of her not being able to walk without surgery!!) I now take both my dogs to see Dr. Cooper and am never disappointed with the quality of care they receive. I trust him implicitly to keep both my French Bulldog (Fadi) and Old Australian shepherd (Badger) healthy and happy. ...anyways, that was a novel, but long story short, If you are looking for a vet that loves animals, is affordable, listens, and always goes above and beyond to ensure your pet is healthy, go see Dr. Kent Cooper at Carrier Animal Hospital!!

If you are looking for wonderful, caring vets and staff at affordable prices...Make the drive!!! (We live 20 miles from Oklahoma border) They even have Saturday hours - which is a godsend to out of town people! Or just people who work for a living. --------- Our Cane Corso puppys nasal passageway was not open enough for her to breathe. (not real common for this breed) It was like breathing through a coffee straw! She adapted by breathing through her mouth. The first vet we took her to told us there was nothing we could do for her and she might not live to 1 year. - Researching the problem I found there is a solution - stenotic nares surgery. After further searching Dr. Cooper was recommended for his work with Bulldogs and Persians (aka. smushed nose breeds). --------- After speaking to the wonderfully helpful ladies in the office and being told the price range for the surgery, I made an appointment for that Saturday. We packed up the pups (6 yr old Boxer & 2 Cane Corso pups) - two hours and one vomit incident later we arrived. After checking both pups thoroughly, Dr. Cooper determined that Balou needed to have the surgery and sooner the better for her. He gave us a printed quote and the appointment was made for the following week. --------- Getting her home, hours after her surgery such a dramatic difference has been seen. Now watching her breathe, without straining for each breath, is a relief..for me as well!! She can now eat and drink without having to gulp it down. She is able to run and play and I do not have to worry so much. Just knowing she has the best chance to reach her full size and potential now..is wonderful beyond words!! --------- Easy to find location; great staff; affordable prices; skilled, experienced and talented vets

I had to put my cat of 16 years to sleep today. The nurse was kind enough to my situation and when I asked if I could hold my cat while the doctor gave the injection through the IV she said yes. They took my Keira kitty back to get the IV put in and when they brought her back in, the doctor was with her. They placed her on the table and immediately gave the anesthetic, and she fell to sleep on the spot. I said "Wait", but he was already doing the second shot and checking for a heartbeat. The doctor looked up and said shes gone. Furious, I looked at the nurse and said, through tears, " you said that I could hold her", she was at a loss for words. I yelled it at her again and then demanded that she leave the room. She promised a last embrace for me and my kitty and she LIED to me! Unfortunately I dont have any other pets, but I sure wont encourage anyone else to go there. SHAME ON YOU!

Upon their urging, I brought my dog in for a teeth cleaning. They over sedated her, she stopped breathing, they had to resuscitate her and bring her back to life. This is no exaggeration. So, they were unable to fully clean her teeth. They cleaned 1/2 her teeth. They then advised I owed them $198 for half a cleaning. I asked if they would complete the cleaning and they advised they wouldnt. What good is 1/2 of the teeth cleaned? ...and they nearly killed my dog! The nerve! Yet they continue to seek the $198 from me. I had to move my dogs to another vet. Would you trust your pet with these folks?
