We first used Timberline when it was owned by Dr Singleton about 6 yrs ago. There is one thing that makes Timberline different than the other veterinarians we tried. The new owners, husband-and-wife team of Dr Hill and Dr Hill (I know; makes it easy though!) took over and continued this unique quality … although I have no idea how new owners can accomplish this. I hope I can relay this difference in a way that is understandable and appreciated and its worth your time to read this long review. Here it is: The vets at Timberline are easy, friendly, capable, and act like what you imagine long-time country doctors act like. What I mean by this, and how this translates to being a quality that you will appreciate, is that you dont get the uneasy feeling you have to protect your wallet when dealing with them. Unlike other, well-rated, well-meaning vet offices along Harwood Rd that we tried previously, we were impressed that Timberline doesnt seem to be in it for the money. Im not saying theyre free - although they have provided free eval and advice. Heres exactly what I mean: Before we used Timberline, we used 3 other vets along Harwood Rd (mid-cities). We waited 1 hr 15 min past our appt time at the first one before walking out. I have done the same at a potential new medical dr for myself; why would I accept this unprofessionalism at a vet? We declined a pricy $600 immunization plan at a second. We completed a $325 immunization treatment plan at a third ... with many references to how we should keep returning for similar services in the near future. At all 3, we felt the offices might be professional - of course, there is nothing wrong with being paid and making a living - but underneath, it always feels like the main motivation is revenue. Its okay but frankly, I like my auto mechanic to be honest about the services and repairs to my car and, if he shows hes looking out for me financially, then I dont have to worry about his motivation. I try to find the same quality in my appliance repair guy and yes, my vet. The first time we used Timberline, Dr Singleton examined Mattie while we waited and after 10 min, told us there was nothing to worry about; shes fine. Our charge? Nothing. Told us to come back when we needed something done. I remember thinking, Maybe this isnt a regular veterinarian clinic. Its got the name hospital in it. Maybe its for vets to refer to for serious operations. Or else, why would it be free? Tw o yrs ago, we called on the phone: grandma (with altztimers/dementia) fed Mattie some grapes which can kill a dog we read online. Online advice was to get her into a vet. The Timberline vet asked a few questions about quantity and symptoms over the phone and told us not to worry. Over the phone! Again, no charge. Went in today over Mattie throwing up and not eating. They didnt have any openings for appts but told us to drop her off and they would look at her in between appts. Result? Mattie is most likely fine. There are two options: 1. Give her a shot for nausea, feed her a special easily-digested food and wait a da yto see how she responds. Or 2. They can run blood tests and xrays if we knew our dog well enough to know there is something more to it or if it would make us feel better. Option 1 - $112, option 2 - $293. We chose option 1 because it made sense in our case. Dr Hill told us that was a perfectly reasonable decision and we felt good about it. He could have suggested option 2 "to be safe" but he didnt. With this attitude to do the right thing, I imagine these two drs are not going to live in mansions and become multimillionaires. But then again, if the way they treat customers by being honest and putting them first appeals to a lot of people in DFW, maybe they will! My kind of business. I recommend.

Dr. Hill and all of his staff were amazing! My dog had bladder stones and was in a lot of pain and distress. I tried to get my dog in to see her regular vet but they were booked. I called Timberline, told them my dogs symptoms, and they told me to bring her in right away. Dr. Hill ended up performing surgery on my dogs bladder. The staff and Dr. Hill kept me updated throughout this process and were very good about taking the time to explain everything to me. They set up post-surgical care with a 24 hour Veterinary Hospital, which made the process very easy for me. While my dog was at the Animal Emergency Hospital of North Texas, Dr. Hill stayed in contact with the veterinarians there to check on my dogs status. He even called me to let me know her status and what to expect when she gets home. My dog is home now and recovering very well. We have a follow up appointment in 2 weeks for suture removal and look forward to a full recovery! Thank you Timberline!!

I usually dont review things like this, but my experience with Timberline Veterinary Hospital was exceptional. Were new in Grapevine and had tried 2 other places. Both of which were more interested in upselling us on all sorts of things, and then made us feel like we didnt love our dog when we didnt want to spend a couple extra hundred dollars on him than we had planned. Timberline was fast, friendly, content to provide the service that prompted our visit (although they were careful to point out areas of need for future visits), and best of all, they actually seemed to care about my puppy. Weve found our vet in Grapevine. I highly recommend them.

I recently boarded my dog here over the fourth of July weekend. This is only the second time in his life he has been boarded, and the first time he was boarded he came home 10 pounds lighter and absolutely frantic. I was very, very happy when I picked my dog up from Timberline and he was healthy, normal, and happy!! He didnt smell like he had been in a kennel, had eaten his food as normal, and seemed quite content. The veterinarians and techs really care about the animals they take care of and it shows. I will be coming here whenever I need anything for my beloved dog! I would absolutely recommend this practice to any pet owner.

Nick and Dr. Hill have been create with our black lab, Aspen, and were particularly helpful recently when Aspen had an allergic reaction that caused swelling. Nick encouraged us to bring her in for observation, even though the doctor was currently unavailable, so at this first possible opportunity, Dr. Hill could evaluate and treat Aspen. Dr. Hill personally called us to update us on Aspens diagnosis and treatment. While it may be more costly at times to use Timberline for Aspens general check-ups, we appreciate and value the personalized approach we receive at Timberline and feel the additional cost is well worth it!

We have known Dr. J. Hill for many, many years, he has treated our 6 cats through the years. He is first and foremost an incredibly knowledgeable veterinarian, he always takes the time to explain what the problem is with our pets, and he always offers multiple treatment options (for various budgets). He is kind and gentle with our babies which makes their experience less stressful. We could not imagine having another vet take care of our loved pets. His staff is also very knowledgeable, kind and professional. I HIGHLY recommend him Dr. Hill and Timberline Veterinary Hospital!!! Well worth the drive from Las Colinas!
