Staff was very friendly and accommodating, but I dont think the vet was very helpful. I took my dog in because shed been throwing up for a few months about 2-3 x a week. The vet said she probably had worms and gave her dewormer without even doing a fecal check or anything. He didnt even check her temp. When that didnt work, I called my friend who is a vet tech and she thought that was a weird treatment plan, so she referred me to Valley Ranch Pet Clinic. When I checked in there and stated the treatment the vet at Buena Vista provided, the techs and the vet both thought it was weird and said they never wouldve prescribed the same thing. Turns out, after going to a vet who took the time to look into my dog (and after a few xrays to verify nothing was in her stomach), she just has IBS and needs to be on special food. So, I basically wasted $100 to have him deworm my dog for nothing. Do yourself a favor and got to Valley Ranch Pet Clinic...I have now taken my dog there twice and my cat there once and its all been fixed right up! They were much more helpful!

I was referred to this vet by my best friends mom, whos my second mom. Theyve taken wonderful care of my 2nd moms diabetic cat & my own diabetic cat. Best Vet ive been to...they really do care about the furry kids. They really are some awesomely amazing individuals. Im planning on taking my dog in to get checked out since this past year shes got a huge cyst growing on her chest & I have no doubt they will do whatever they can to help us out with my other baby. My 2nd mom has been so awesome in helping me out money wise as birthday & christmas gifts with my kids more expensive needs as well which I cant thank her enough for that.

On almost no notice, I was able to get my big retriever in to see Dr. Burkett for treatment. The first thing I noticed when I got to the vet was the staff and the general attitude in his office. Polite, helpful, and understanding people surround the doctor and make you feel right at home. Dr. Burkett was incredibly thoughtful and helpful in handling my big dog. He went beyond just prescribing what needed to be done, but spent time on the "whys" which in my case was very comforting. Buena Vista is a "hidden diamond" for those who have veterinary needs in the Irving area so you may need Google Maps to find him, but what a find!

Unless youre an older, regular customer here, dont come. The vet hardly paid any attention to my dog and did not address any of my concerns or questions asked. I was not treated with respect, possibly because I look so young (although that shouldnt matter). He and the front staff were not very helpful in taking care of future appointments. I visited this vet 3 different times to make sure I didnt just have one bad visit. Every visit was short, he did not check ears/temp on my pup when asked, etc. They were only concerned with getting me and my puppy in and out. I will not be returning to this office.

I had to take my newly adopted pound puppy in because he wasnt feeling well. They were able to see him a few hours after I called. The wait time was very minimal. The ladies at the front desk were very sweet and friendly and even took the time to talk to my baby boy and give him some loves. Dr. Burkett is Wonderful! He shows great care and concern when examining the animals and takes the time to answer the questions that I had. It was a great experience for me and Diesel (who is already feeling so much better) and I will continue to take him to back for all of his medical needs.

Dr. Burkett is one of the most compassionate people I have come actoss in a very long time which was very refreshing... Not to mention his staff is just wonderful. I took my dog there after a bad reaction from a big box store flea medication to say I was a basket case with worry is an understatement and they completely put my mind at ease. They got her in within the hour of me calling in as a new patient.. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to any friend or family member any day of the year.

Absolutely the best place you can take your dog. Dont get distracted by big fancy places like VCA, who will rip you off. Buena Vista worked with me and made me and my dog feel right at home. They offered me an estimate $1000 under VCAs and they remembered my name, who I was and were so gracious to every dog that walked in. Felt like home. Dr. Burkett is the best vet around town and its obvious why his business is successful. Thank you guys for everything! - Jeremy Elder

This is the best ever veterinarian I have been too in 8 years coming here. Lots of close to the door parking, open at 7 if need drops off your pet and head to work, open Saturday morning. Cannot say enough about Doc Burkett and the complete staff, so so friendly helpful and has a genuine care for your pet and their health. Love this place, I personally have recommended here to many people

The initial vet visit was great. However, a few weeks later I tried to place an order on-line for heart guard from 1800PetMeds and they would not authorize the prescription. The would only allow me to purchase directly from them. I wish I would have known this prior to spending the money with them to have my dog checked out. Posting this so that nobody else gets caught by surprise.

Dr Mike is amazing. I have six cats. I keep bringing my cat to him thinking that it is ready to die, instead Dr Mike always find the solution. All of them are still alive. My oldest is 16 years old. Dr Mike is a very kind doctor and he treats my cats very gentle. He always made me feel good even in the scary moments. The girls at the front desk are super sweet.

My brothers Pit Bull had to have surgery & this was the only vet willing to help bc he couldnt afford it! The vet saved his life & us from heartache! Best vet EVER & now, I take my dog there too bc theyre a lot more professional & affordable than Banfield or anyone else & seem to care more about our pets!! 5 stars! Best vet in Texas!!

These guys were great. They helped my family out when my sisters cat was very sick and needed to be laid to rest. The Vet and staff all very helpful and friendly. Dr. Burkett is an amazing vet. The staff is friendly as well. As long as this man is a practicing veterinarian I wont take my little ones anywhere else!!!!! Cant recommend him and this clinic highly enough to anyone looking for care for the four legged children.
