Animal Hospital Of Valley Ranch saved my dogs life !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like 7 years ago We were originally bringing our dog to a vet hospital in Uptown Dallas on lemon ave, my dog got sick and they diagnosed her with cough, after a week we got a phone call that they gave us the wrong medicine , it wasnt a cough medicine at all but upset stomach powder we have been giving her for a week ( there was no label on it for me to double check either) , by that time she got worse and the cough progressed to bronchitis , the next medicine didnt work either and the bronchitis turned to pneumonia. It all started in the beginning of September and by December it had gotten so bad that they had to hospitalize her , after $3500 they said I might want to take my dog home for Christmas because it might be her last day , and if it happens to live pass that they can pull a huge favor and for $6000 can do some kind of brain surgery because the pneumonia was caused by neurological disorder . Over Christmas I red some great reviews about Animal Hospital Of Valley Ranch so I decided to try a different doctor if she makes it one more day. Luckily it was open the day after Christmas and the doctor figured out within 5 min that my bulldog had something stuck in her throat cousin her spit drain in her lungs not her stomach . He pulled it out and she was feeling much better within 24 hours. So so so Very Grateful - now I have a 10 year old English bulldog , happy and healthy thanks to Animal Hospital Of Valley Ranch - Kooky monster says Thank You !!!!! :)

The office staff is very friendly and helpful but the positive experiences end there. The veterinarian has a terrible bedside manner--it strikes me that he doesnt even appear to love animals and seems like he cant be bothered to show them any sort of affection. I grew up with dogs but recently adopted my first dog as an adult. Since Ive never individually cared for a dog, I was hoping for a degree of guidance about signs to look for and an interpretation of some issues my dog seems to be having. Instead of chatting with me in detail the veterinarian told me to "look up youtube videos". Ultimately, I had to visit them twice because after my dogs initial appointment he ended up having some bites on his leg and his cough didnt seem to improve. They told me it was likely allergies that would never improve but that I could give him benadryl which had a 20% chance of having any impact whatsoever. No alternative treatment options were offered. No medication was provided for his leg. Nothing. All of the "advice" was provided in what seemed to me to be a rather snarky manner. Lo and behold, the bites on my dogs leg erupted and fibrous material had to be removed from the wound. Luckily, there is another veterinarian close by who, while more expensive, seems to take more care in analyzing my dogs symptoms and helping me decipher the kind of care he needs.

We adopted a sweet dog from the animal shelter. He needed a hair cut, so we took him to animal hospital of valley ranch. The groomer lady was so sweet and so patient. She was so worried about how nervous my dog was, she wanted me back there with her so I could talk to my dog, and calm him while she cut. She doesnt like to muzzle dogs. She is extremely tender with the animals from what I could see. After my pup had a hair cut, the vet did a check up on him to make sure he was in good health. The vet was very nice, answered all of my questions and he was very nice to my pup too. And we cant forget the gals up front at the reception desk! Those ladys are a hoot! They were sweet and smiled a lot. They didnt just sit there and ignore me. They made small talk with me while I waited for my pup to go back. And the sense of humor with one of the ladies made my day! Thanks animal hospital of VR. Yall are doing a great job!

We have been taking our dogs to Dr. Chaiken for 13+ years. That has spanned across five different dogs. Over 30+ years of seeking veterinary care, Dr. Chaiken is the best vet we have ever encountered. Although some of the previous posters make reference to his personality, we have found him to be a compassionate and caring person. He has been with us through the final moments with three of our dogs. He always tries to make you feel as though you have done everything possible for your dogs. From a purely logistical standpoint, we can almost always schedule an appointment with no more than 24 hours of advance notice, and anytime we have needed emergency care, he has been available as needed, including prompt response to his after hours pager. If you are seeking a top quality wellness clinic for your animals, you cant find anything better than Animal Hospital of Valley Ranch.

I have been taking most of my rescued foster dogs to AHVR since at least 2013, and I couldnt be happier with their service, expertise and skills. The front desk staff are compassionate, kind, and patient with all the dogs Ive brought in, even the most skittish ones whove spent most of their lives on the street, and they never hesitate to take in a new foster as long as they have room (and they always seem to find room!). I pay out of my own pocket for all of my rescue dogs and am happy to do so because this clinics rates are very reasonable and worth every penny for all the care that the pups receive. Great, clean, and secure outdoor play area, good trainer, and just overall a very clean facility. Im so happy I found these good folks when I first went looking for a reliable vet and staff for my rescues, and Im lucky that theyre right here in Irving! Highly recommended.

My wife and I had somewhat of an emergency just recently with a couple of our cats and we visited this veterinary clinic for help. They were the only clinic open on the day we needed assistance. First off, the office staff is wonderful and very helpful. Dr. Chaikin is an excellent veterinarian and my impression is that he simply is all about getting the problem diagnosed so that he can offer assistance asap. Ive read the other reviews about his "bedside manner" and yes hes matter-of-fact, but so what? Hes a great doctor with a tremendous amount of skill and knowledge and he knows what hes doing -- his diagnosis of both our cats was spot-on. One cat had severe diarrhea and he took a sample and diagnosed it for parasites right then and there, no waiting. Hes fees were very reasonable. We will be using him on a regular basis from now on.

I have used this Animal Hospital many times as part of my dog rescue group. Dr. C is extremely talented and has worked tirelessly to save some dogs (and cats) that should not have made it. I am very impressed with his ability to mend broken bones, torn internal organs, and ripped skin. He may not be the most outgoing and personable doctor but his talent makes up for that. He is most patient with our rescue organizations ability to pay the bill. He understands that we often have needs before the money is donated from our supporters. The women at the front are very kind and understanding. They seem to love animals as much as we do. They manage a difficult schedule and somehow find space for emergencies. Ive never been disappointed by them and Im always impessed. I highly recommend it.
