To all those who are considering LASIK with Dr. Tylock.. I am a 34 year old guy who was cleared as a good candidate in my consultation. I was skeptical about the whole Lasik thing (like most of you reading this) primarily due to all side effects (when researched online). The nice experience in the consultation made me go-ahead with it and I had LASIK done with Dr. Tylock on 8th April 2016. Day of the surgery went smooth, no issues here at all. As expected, extra care needed in first 24 hours and then for the first 2 weeks. Post 2-week update (1 star based on vision): This review is written post 2 weeks after surgery. My day vision is awesome with no issues or side effects at all. However I dont like my night vision, I see starbursts and halos in the night. And they are bad to the extent that I regret my LASIK decision. ALL OF THOSE CONSIDERING LASIK - must research starbursts and halos online. I went to supposedly the best doctor in Dallas and still ended up with this side effect. From what I read online, it takes up to an year for this side effect to disappear (if it disappears at all). Obviously the doctors at Tylock tell me to be patient and wait (how long?!?!?). So, at 2-weeks post Lasik, Id say 2 things 1. Reconsider Lasik 2. Reconsider Dr. Tylock. If things improve for me, I will post another update on this review. For now, its 1-star for me for all the crazy side effects I am seeing. WEEK 4 UPDATE Day vision is amazing. Night vision is still annoying. A lot of halos, glare and starbursts. Driving on a road w no street lights is hard. I hope this improves. I highly recommend that you read blogs on this. There are individuals suffering w these issues for more than an year now. The only reason I am bumping my review from 1 to 2 star is because of the amazing customer service by the Tylock clinic. And even seeing me at a very short notice. This rating jump is not indicative of my night vision improvement. WEEK 8 UPDATE Halos and starbursts have gone down for me but not completely disappeared. I still see them when my eyes are tired, or when I am driving past my sleep time (which is usually over the weekend). I also happened to speak to a colleague of mine who is still suffering with severe halos and night glares even after 3 years of her blade-less surgery from one of the other best doctors. Makes me think that this is pretty common with LASIK in general. Another issue that must be mentioned is the DRY EYES. This is severe as well. I am tired of putting eye drops in my eyes. Someone recommended me Genteal eye gel and that has helped me a little, but I am still putting gels/drops in my eyes consistently. How long will this dry eye go on for is what I am not sure of. FINAL WORDS If you are okay to live with side effects then LASIK is for you. Also, ask yourself - how badly do you need it? For example, an athlete may want to get it done for sure. Also, be aware that any LASIK clinic (including Tylocks) will not tell you the real long-lasting side effects and its upon each candidate to do a thorough research on their own.

Overall it was a good experience. I went in on Wednesday for the pre-op exam/testing, paperwork, etc. and Thursday morning i was having the Lasik done. The whole thing happened very quickly. I paid extra for the Topographic Guided Lasik, which is apparently the newest FDA approved technique. Its been 4 days since the surgery and everything is going well. A lot of the time when I read reviews of lasik centers, they all say "it felt like a cattle call..." or "I waited forever in the lobby" -- At Tylock, I didnt necessarily feel that way. It moved quickly, and if you dont have a lot of questions they do move you right along. I think they try to find a happy medium of getting you in and out, but also making sure your needs are met. Dr. George performed my surgery. He did a great job (from what I can tell), but I didnt really have much face time with him. We literally met about 3 minutes before the surgery. I mainly dealt with Dr. Sanchez. She was really nice and basically told me what I needed to know and answered what few questions I had. I also did the follow up appt with her. At the clinic, I feel like you change hands a lot. You start with one person and they take images of your eyes. Then another person takes your prescription. Another person follows up with that and checks you to make sure you are a good candidate. Another person explains the cost, etc. It seems like a well-oiled machine. If you require a lot of face-time with one person for comfort this might be off-putting. I was okay with it for the most part. I felt like I was in good hands. A few people referred me to this clinic and I did a lot of reading on my own. I didnt even go to another clinic. Talked to them on the phone. Went a week or two later and then had it done. Quick and easy. Between the initial exam, the surgery, eye drops and the lubricating tears, plan on spending anywhere from $3,500-$4,000. The topographic will run about 400 more than the standard. They do have financing options. You get a discount to pay upfront in full. Hope this helps!

I have been considering LASIK for a while now but was hesitant because the thought of anything going in or near my eye scared me to death (that is why I only wore glasses and couldnt make myself wear contacts). After yet another frustrating year of shopping for glasses I finally decided to look deeper into LASIK. I talked to several friends who had the procedure and they all swore how it changed their lives and I was crazy if I didnt. I looked online and scheduled a consultation with several LASIK offices in the DFW area. I ended up choosing to do my LASIK surgery with Tylock because they were the only office I visited that treated me like a patient and not just another customer. All the other offices I visited made me feel like I was buying a used car. The doctors at Tylock were more than willing to answer all the questions I had about the surgery and made me feel at ease. I also chose Tylock because they offer blade free intraLASIK with the latest and greatest wavefront technology. The other offices I visited that advertised insanely low prices (just to change them once I got there) were using the older traditional LASIK which uses a blade to create the corneal flap. No thanks! The day of my surgery I showed up and was given another chance to ask any questions I had before proceeding. I was AMAZED at how easy the surgery was! I never believed my friends who said they didnt feel anything during the surgery, but its true! I felt slight pressure on my eye and the next thing I knew the doctor said "you did great". Immediately after the surgery I rested in a room with my eyes closed and then they checked my eyes one more time before I was released to my ride to be taken home. I took the sleeping pills they gave me and slept the rest of the day. When I woke up I couldnt believe how clear my vision was. I went in for my post op follow-up the next morning and was seeing 20/15. It is amazing what Tylock Eye Care can do!! I will be recommending Tylock to all my friends and family.
