My family is a fan of Family Pet Clinic of Richland Hills. The staff is friendly, competent and kind. They work together well as a team, which benefits everyone who walks in the door for pet care, or to take advantage of the well-stocked supplies of food and treats. In January 2013 my mom became owned by her first dog, and James Hoglund, DVM, joined the Richland Hills clinic. The pup was not in good shape, but for almost two years Dr. Hoglund and his staff have taken excellent care of Brodie, and Mom. In the beginning his digestive system was the main problem, and then multiple allergies were followed by skin and ear infections. Every issue has been carefully explained so Mom has been able to make well informed decisions, which were always respected. We all know that veterinary costs can be overwhelming, but the Paws Plan that is offered makes excellent care affordable and manageable. Somehow we refrain from wagging our tails and licking faces when we visit, but Brodie doesnt hesitate in spite of having surgery and far more than the average poking and prodding. I encourage anyone in the area to consider using this clinic for their pets. Brodie and Mom enrich each others lives beyond measure, but I doubt if they would be as happy and healthy without the care and support extended to them by the entire staff. Okay this clinic would get 4 Stars, but they are seriously just in it for the money$$, I signed up on a plan for two of my pups, $50/$60 a month,great deal,So I jumped on the plan, Ive stuck with them for about 3 months now and every-time I go in, its always something, literally, always trying to get me to pay something, even though Im on a membership. Im fed up now, last time I went in they wanted $380 to run some test, they were to suppose to have already ran. I love My pups, thats why I am going elsewhere, I want a vet that actually cares about my puppies well beings, not just trying to empty out my pocket every-time go in for a monthly check up. So I called in to cancel my monthly membership....and GUESS WHAT?, its a $280 cancellation fee..I work in a sales industry, I know the tricks of memberships. It was NOT stated to me that I was under contract, to our understanding, we were on a membership, free to cancel whenever, there was no mention of a contract.So once again I am so done with these people, they are full of crap, and give animals unnecessary things to get more $$ out of you. Other than that, everyone is super nice, and it seems like a helpful place, but they are also snakes in the grass. Being the animal lover I am, I need someone who is compassionate and straight forward with me.

I had recently adopted my kittens from a shelter, one of them got accidentally stepped on so I took him to Family Pet Clinic of Richland Hills under the advise of my shelter. The Vet did an exam which was $35 and all she could see was runny eyes she also wanted to charge me for X-rays & lab work. I declined the X-rays & blood work unfortunately my AC compressor had went out the same day & I needed a new unit. I Love my kittens dearly so the vet prescribed an antibiotic which I was able to pay for a few days later. When I returned I informed the vet that both kittens now had runny eyes so she prescribed an antibiotic eye ointment for both instead. The eye ointment was supposed to be used for 10 days which I did. The original cat wasnt cleared of the watery eyes after the 10 days & when I returned to the vet they wanted me to pay another $35 for an office visit & wouldnt prescribe me the original antibiotic. This clinic is just out to take your money & I will never return here again I Love my kittens dearly & they deserve the best care a veterinarian that truly cares about there patients.

Unpersonable and awful instead of telling me how to treat something they wanted more money and my dog died the lady that answers the phone is a total airhead awful awful experiencel I mean he died of parvo I should have gotten the shot but I didnt and they could have told me to hydrate him they never told me to hydrate him at all I had no clue Ive never been through this before and I got really mad at the doctor and he basically told me it was a lesson learned wasnt it then puppy started showing signs of it after it already taken The Man 4 for the first round of shots and Ive spent a lot of money in this place other dogs and I am just horrified by how uncompassionate he was about my dogs death he never ever told me to hydrate that dog I never knew that they just sent me home with some antibiotics and said hed give it to him I mean it was awful horrible Im so upset

Today I found my Great Dane lying in his own vomit and urine, not moving, I thought for sure he was dying! I ran him to the vet and they attended to him right away, they even brought a gurney out to load him on, got him out of my car and started to assess him right away. Im very frantic and a lot to deal with when Im so stressed but they were polite and professional during the entire visit. They let me go back and see him while we waited for the blood test result. (He had a seizure and may be epileptic). Thank you to the entire staff for your help! Im so glad we found you when we moved here.

Was very unhappy to take my cat to this clinic. Payed $100 for her to be there since 7am to 1:30pm....so i can take her home. Put medicine on my own & still take a stool sample at home. When she was there most the day ....i took her there for a reason so they can put meds & they could take stool sample not me. Plus wasnt able to speak to vet at all..receptionist was very nice besides all this. I should of just gone to petsmart done it my dam self..

my cat had an infected foot, and we wernt sure what was wrong he but we were able to get an appointment THAT DAY LAST MIN., and the appointment was super fast and the staff was extremly nice and understanding, as well we got him neutered along with flushing out his foot and it only took an HOUR, best experience i have ever had in a vets office. and everything was reasonably priced i highly recomend it for you next pet visit!

The staff was super friendly, and they squeezed me in on short notice. They were super sweet with my dog, and the doctor made her and me feel comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. He took the time for her to warm up to him before he ran any test, and made sure she was in good condition before we left. Definitely put my mind at ease. If anything happens with Baylee I will bring her back!
