Dr. Ellenbecker is one of the sweetest and most competent doctors you will ever meet! Every person in my family is a patient of his. His best attribute is that he ACTUALLY cares about you and your family. He remembers your name, he cares about what is happening in your life, and most of all he does everything he can to make you feel better. On our first visit, my middle daughter had an unusual throat condition that had been very painful for almost 2 months.I had tried everything, I was even told by OTHER doctors, that it was in her head (she was 13 then) and just making it up. We had seen 3 other doctors before him, he was our last hope. After, actually taking the time to LISTEN to her symptoms, asking questions and LOOKING at us as we answered as opposed to typing or writing as if we didnt exist, he asked us to wait while he ran some tests and they all came back normal. He then told me to give him 24 hours and he would consult his medical books and some specialists and call me back,meanwhile he gave her some medication for the pain. My first thought was, Wow! Really? A Dr. that actually STUDIES the PRACTICE of medicine and doesnt just assume that because he doesnt know what is wrong in 2.5 minutes, and he went to medical school, that you must have made it all up in your head. I admit, I didnt really expect him to call. I thought, yeah, he seems nice, but he probably tells that to everyone in this situation just to get on to his next patient.The NEXT day, he called and knew what was wrong with her, prescribed a medication and 2 days later she was feeling great and was back to normal after 2 months of suffering and going from doctor to doctor. When you are sick, he treats ALL of you, not just your symptoms. We have been seeing him for almost 3 years now, and I have NEVER left without a smile on my face, even when I was feeling my worst. My oldest daughter began her freshman year in college this year and came down with strep throat. We had to work out an appointment with a local Dr. in another state in order to get the diagnoses and the meds she needed. She called me from there and told me how much she missed Dr. Ellenbecker, she did not realize that there were doctors out there that could be so rude. She felt like she was being herded like cattle, he didnt let her speak, and his nurse was very cold and actually asked her if she was just trying to get out of class!! Her one complaint: he needs to have one of those "Doctor Skype Services" for his college student patients! She just knew if he could see her, he would know what was wrong just by looking at her and listening to her, because he knows her, but most importantly, he cares and when you feel so sick and are in pain, the last thing you need is a doctor who doesnt seem interested! So, if you are looking for an AWESOME family practice doctor in the DFW area, look no further... his name is Dr. Beau J. Elllenbecker in Roanoke, TX, and he is a doctor who loves his patient from the most innocent babies to the ones with the most wisdom to share!!

Fat Guy to Hulk

Great doc if you have a cold or flu. Doesnt have a clue when it comes to blood work besides what he reads from the labs. Takes over 15 minutes for someone to pick up the phone. Takes days for them to update your online port files. Schedule you for an appointment then turns out you have no appointment because no one put it in the system. If you need a shot or allergy meds this is the dr. for you. If you have a serious issue youre better off Googling it then going to this doctor!!
