Some patients have had positive experiences at Holladay InstaCare, praising the efficiency and informative nature of the medical staff. One patient mentioned that they were quickly tested for strep throat and received a thorough explanation from the doctor about the possible causes of their symptoms. The doctor also provided an antibiotic prescription and advised the patient to return if symptoms worsened.
There are also mixed reviews where patients appreciated the medical care but had issues with the administrative aspects. However, once they were attended to, they received prompt and knowledgeable care, including a chest x-ray and a breathing treatment.
Several patients have had negative experiences, citing issues such as cold and apathetic staff, long wait times, and poor administrative practices. One patient mentioned that they were skipped over in the waiting list, leading to an extended wait time. Another patient criticized the doctor for being impatient and rude, questioning the doctor's listening skills.
Despite the administrative and interpersonal issues, the medical competency of the doctors is generally not in question. Patients who received medical care were satisfied with the diagnosis and treatment provided.
Holladay InstaCare has a mixed bag of reviews, with patients appreciating the medical care but criticizing the administrative and interpersonal aspects. The facility has room for improvement in terms of reducing wait times and enhancing patient-staff interactions.

It seems a lot more people then me have had problems but my visit was super great! They got me in super fast! I was worried I had strep throat and they went ahead with a test right away. The test came back negative but the doctor was super informative, letting me know there was a possibility of margin of error since I had all the right symptoms of strep and none of the wrong symptoms like cough or runny nose. He also let me know as well of a couple more possibilities it could be, ranging from the stuff I most definitely didnt want to have like mono to the more mundane, "theres a bacteria we know about that acts almost exactly like strep but isnt strep." He even explained why they couldnt test for mono because it wouldnt show up in my blood for two weeks and that there wasnt a reliable test yet for the other bacteria. In the end, he gave me a antibiotic prescription and sent me on my way making sure I understood if any of my symptoms get worse to came back in right away. It was really quite a pleasant experience. I mean besides the fact I went in cause I was sick. Honestly I dont see what else he really could have done. I do want to make one note from reading over plenty of review in trying to decide which urgent care I should go to. I get it. as someone with a nifty little genetic disorder that has given me frequent flyer miles to any hospital Ive had enough time to observe plenty of health care providers to recognize patterns. Working in an urgent care is much different than a hospital. Half of their patients come in wanting to pop pills and the other because they had a headache and read on webMD that it could mean a brain tumor. My specialist doctors are super nice to me always, super courteous and always wanna hear whats new in my life--but they see me every six months and a congenital heart disease specialist doesnt really get called in for people who are lying or faking it. So are urgent care doctors usually a bit more brisk, impersonal and skeptical? Absolutely! But I cant exactly blame them. Did the doctor spent an extra twenty minutes talking to me about my life? Nope! But he did everything he could at the time for me, explained what was going on and why he was doing what he was doing then treated me and moved on to the next sneezy patient wondering if they have Zeka virus. So if youre sick go here, theyll help ya. Cause they do their freaking job and they do it efficiently. Thats really all ya need to ask of them.

Im a regular patient in the IHC system. This was my first visit as a patient to an InstaCare, so I didnt know what to expect. We had a glitch in the waiting room. It was crowded and waits were long. I didnt hear my name called so got passed over. When patients who signed in after I did were being called, I asked the the receptionist what had happened. She put me first in line, but it was still another 25 minutes before I got in. I wasnt happy. From there on things got better and better. I was checked in quickly, seen promptly by the doctor, had a chest x-ray that was read by a radiologist within a few minutes, and got a breathing treatment. The doctor was knowledgeable, friendly, and knew his stuff. I know. I used to be one. :-) Because I am a regular IHC patient, my health information was available to them while they were checking me in, and the new information from todays encounter will be added to my electronic medical record. I was able to review it later in the day through Intermountains MyHealth patient interface. Ill go back there in the future. Im only giving them a 4/5-star rating today. Next time itll be a 5/5 if the glitch has been fixed. Last thought: You may be able to shorten your waiting time by telephoning in advance to reserve a spot on the list; its the Call-Ahead program.

First and last time I will be visiting this InstaCare. I went in to determine if an antibiotic treatment was necessary for sinus infection-type symptoms Id been experiencing. My annoying illness (which was increasingly worsening) reached the 7-day mark and I thought itd be a good idea to get checked out. Typical situation, right? I saw zero patients and about 8+ staff during my 15-minute visit. Keeping that in mind, every staff member I interacted with (which was about 4 people) were particularly cold and apathetic. The nurse who checked my vitals didnt look me in the eye once. The doctor asked me my symptoms, pulled up a computer screen looking eerily like WebMd, and began directing his fingers around the bullet-point list of symptoms spelled out in condescendingly large font. Wow, gee thanks. This isnt insulting to my intelligence at all. I also just love being sick and visiting doctors. It is so much fun to have copays, annoy hard-working doctors/nurses, and put you out by asking for your medical opinion! /endsarcasm He continued to speak to me like the scientifically elite, brilliant-minded physician he clearly thought he was and asked me where to send the prescription. So, sinus infection it is then? He left the exam room before I could even blink.

I am a big fan of IHC. I have had many interactions and experiences with different IHC facilities and doctors, so you can imagine my excitement when this new InstaCare pops up by my house. But, no, this was my worst experience at any health care facility in my entire life. My estimated wait time was 48 minutes to see the doctor, which I was not looking forward to with my sick one-year old. It wasnt until people that had arrived after me were leaving before I was fed up enough to talk to the secretary. The secretary realized she had skipped over our name. I waited AN HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES before we got called back, and another THIRTY MINUTES before we saw the doctor. The doctor did a good job and had a great attitude, even though she spent less than five minutes with us. But, I hated my experience and cant believe that the secretary.. her job is to check people in... "skipped" over our name. I will drive further away to a different clinic than to ever go back to this one.

The doctor was impatient with me and rude. Dont think he was even listening to what I was saying. Seemed to be in a hurry to get me out of there even though it wasnt busy. When I asked him if he washed his hands before he examined me, he acted like a pompous jerk. Um, I have a right to ask!! Its my body and I dont want germ infested hands touching me. Especially when someone else posted about a MRSA infection at the Holladay location. He was mad when I told him another doctor prescribed antibiotics to me over the phone a month prior. Dont get heated with me, pompous, that its malpractice, Im just trying to feel better. I am not one to post reviews, but had such a crappy experience that I had to share. I will never go to this location again.

My wife and I went, she was very ill. After a long wait, they told us to go home, there was nothing they could do for her. I disagreed, and I took her to the emergency room. She went into emergency surgery that temporarily saved her life. She had stage 4 cancer and died 3 months later. I went in with a small cyst on my hand. I showed it to everybody I encountered so they all knew why I was there. After waiting 40 minutes and paying over $100 they told me to go home, there was nothing they could do. The doctor even admitted that they should be able to treat it, but he said, “The owners won’t allow it.” Every time we go to this facility, they charge us lots of money and do absolutely nothing for us.
